You DO realize that if ZOS sold the Merchant with the ability to repair, it would cost them ongoing money for Crown Store repair kits; they're never going to introduce something that also takes away an ongoing revenue source. So there IS a method to their madness, it is just a shame that they don't outright STATE the limitation in the description.

Well, they offer repair kits and repairs in game for gold... Wonder how much money they are losing because of that. They should remove that immediately. Repairs should only be available from crown store, otherwize ZoS would risk to go bankrupt right?

I'm not ranting about availability of items. Lack of proper description. Why do they need to state that the merchant doesn't travel to Cyrodiil, but not that it doesn't repair?

Let's say I'm a hardcore PvP:er and they intentionally left out that she doesn't travel there... same situation... Lack of proper information is the problem, not that it doesn't have the repair service or not.

They have been out for a year already, research your product before purchasing OP.

While it would be convenient for all of that, I must add that being able to SELL a full inventory anywhere without having to port back is a MASSIVE convenience you should not easily overlook.

Also it's not really a waste in the long run it's a good investment.

I have a char stuck in IC that has probably lost out on 20-50k of items on the floor just because of a full inventory RIP :expressionless:

I have both and it's not worth $25 or $39 each regardless. Now their services being limited vs the description in another big problem but now with housing, I see that descriptions are intentionally left off to get ppl to buy

It's time ppl stand together vs saying you should've searched the Internet.

Nothing important is left out. It tells you EXACTLY what she does. The people assuming she had other functions... lol. You conspiracy types are a barrel of laughs.

    @notimetocare

No it doesn't tell you exactly anything.
If it did this post and so many others wouldn't exist.

There is no conspiracy types here....it's reality. The product label misleads the customer just like the banker, just like the houses

@NewBlacksmurf I found out from a guildie a while back that Banker doesn't give you access to Guild bank. No biggie, I wasn't really interested in the banker for now, as I do very little banking. Most my stuff goes to deconstruct or sell to NPC anyway. I can hold on to a few items that i wanna sell in guild store. No problem.

I'm not aware about the houses tough? Care to enlighten me about lack of proper descriptions there as well before I make any hasty purchases again?

If there's anything I'm remotely interested in at the CS, I make sure to wait until I've read feedback about it on here or Reddit. That way, I can make an informed decision and avoid disappointment.

I didn't buy either the Merchant or the Banker, but I feel ripped off for you.

Definitely needs to have a better description, but honestly I don't see why they can't add that functionality to the Merchant altogether. 5000 crowns is a lot; she better be worth it.

Whew, thank you for making this topic OP.

I was minutes away from getting the banker and merchant when I happened to read this while waiting.

No repairs? No guild store? No thanks. What a ripoff.

I do think the merchant should repair armor and have generic items for sale.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Description says buy 'anything'. That's all it dsays she does. Why exactly did you expect more? Has a basic understanding of English become to hard?

    Lol just missed that one.

"Orange" labelled "orange" vs "poisonous orange" labelled "orange".

Well, the second orange is not a rip-off nor a scam because nowhere does it say that you can eat it. It says it's an orange, and, well, it's an orange.

I'm afraid basic reasoning has become too hard...

It's seems i saved quite a few people today from spending their crowns on this. Hopefully thread will be bumped a while. I'm sure it's been an issue a long time, and amazing it hasn't been fixed yet. I bet they have been out since Thieves Guild, so they should have had a proper description by now.

Current functionality: A non combat pet that eats items and and poo's gold, would be a more fitting description.

I'm sure some people find it pretty useful. For me it was mostly an issue of lack of details in the description. I'm Eso plus so i have plenty of bag space thanks to the crafting bag, and if I'm full I can delete some stuff, so i bought mostly for repairs.... which it turned out it didn't have..

Description says buy 'anything'. Thats all it days she does. Why exactly did you expect more? Has a basic understanding of English become to hard?
If you are on PC/Mac, it's always a good idea to check the Crown Store options out on PTS, if you are on console, then Google is your friend, always read quite a few reviews of products before you buy them, even Crown Store ones, and seeing that you are already on the forums, it's best to do a forum search before dropping some crowns in the store, this issue has been discussed before at length.

You must note that they did only say that she will buy from you, they never said that she will sell supplies, same case with the banker, you have no access to guild bank or store.

    Good with getting a refund.
Agree it says BUY and nothing else. I think the confusion comes when you get to this statement: "her services can be used by you" -- services.

There is also some reasonable expectation considering it does 1/3 of what any other merchant in the game does.

This kind of thing could all be cleared up with some accurate descriptions in the crown store.

I agree the OP could have helped themselves out by checking the forums first, or doing some additional research.

However, I don't think it is unreasonable for a player to expect that the merchant would work the same as the merchant NPCs in the game, especially since the description is so short.

If I didn't know better, and didn't know the history of ZOS's less-than-stellar descriptions on Crown Store items, the lack of detail would lead me to think: "Oh, OK, just a sentence? It must be just like NPC merchants, then."

In the end, I think the most telling aspect is that the description has still not been updated. Despite refund requests, forum posts, and I am sure other bad internet feedback on places like Reddit, the information has not been updated. It doesn't cost a lot to update the Crown Store - they do it all of the time.

The only thing I can conclude is that they are deliberately looking for the crowns from people like the OP. This problem is easy to fix, not expensive to fix, and would give the customers the correct information about what they are purchasing. There is a clearly-demonstrated issue since multiple players have posted, and how many others did not post here but felt swindled or asked Customer Service for a refund? Yet retyping 3-4 sentences is too much?

    Very, very poor ZOS.

Welcome to the real world! user reviews are everywhere because it's a marketing fact that the best promoter to your products are satisfied customers.

Or sock puppet accounts posting fake positive reviews. It's also marketing fact that those reviews don't need to be honest or real.

Oh, wait, didn't think of that? Welcome to the real world

I never even tried yet but I heard they just ignored the refund requests which is pretty dumb tbh, we should atleast get 1 refund a month like most MMO's do now just a courtesy for buying the wrong thing or if you don't need it anymore.

I Don't mean a complete refund for real $ back but the store currency for whatever you bought it for

Except there are laws on top of laws for consumer protection, at least in the USA, that put the burden on sellers to describe when their products do not meet reasonable assumptions for a product of that type. I have gotten several checks because of a class-action suit against a company for deceptive practices.

If you purchase a car that states it can achieve 20 MPG, that doesn't mean you can sell it without a trunk or a place to screw in your license plate.

Granted in how screwed up the English language can be this can pertain to a single service or multiple, but it's not unreasonable to expect it works the same as any other merchant in the game.

The label merchant is also indicative of someone who sells things to others.

@Sigtric It would be fun to see what would happen if they left out that the assistants doesn't travel to Cyrodiil as well. Maybe they could earn a bit of money from people lazy to do the research.

Then watch the rage of PvP:ers expecting it to work there, where it's even harder to fast travel to Merchants.

Ohhh .... I shouldn't give them any ideas...
