Just wasted 5000 crowns on Merchant Assistant.

Can you please put in the description that it ....

Does NOT have anything for sale. No lockpicks, no Armor repair kits, no Soulgems, nothing useful.
Does NOT allow you to repair armor.

The reason i bought it was so I wouldn't have to go a town and sell stuff that often, and MAINLY don't have to go to repair that often. Especially if I'm waiting in dungeon finder Que, out farming or doing some daily quests while I wait. I thought it would be great to not worry about repairing my armor once i get teleported to the dungeon. Just pop the merchant, sell some trash and repair. It would be a nice perk for your group also, but this crown item is a scam... Don't buy it...

Every Merchant in Tamriel can repair, even a Grocer that sells tomatoes... but not this one....

This is what it says in the description...

"This alert merchant is on hand whenever she's needed, and will buy anything you or your group offer her. She won't come to Cyrodiil, though—war is bad for business
When summoned, her services can be used by you and your groupmates."

Don't waste your money....

Going to be contacting ZOS for a crown refund. For misleading description.

EDIT:
To put it simple. Why is it so hard for them to add a few simple words like "does not provide repairs" to the description? It's a simple job they can do on their coffee break, and add to the next update.

1. It will avoid confusion, on what's included.
2. They will save time on less support tickets, and refund requests.
3. People don't need to rant about it.
4. People can take informed decisions on weather they find it's still worth to spend 5000 crowns on.

What's bad about being clear and precise?

I completely agree that the description needs to be made clearer. The way it's worded now makes it sound like it works like every other merchant in the game.

It's been said many, many times on these forums. Some of the descriptions seen on the CS leave a lot to be desired. Some of the more cynical amongst us have even mentioned that some things are probably omitted as to snare people.

For all the whining we see on the forums, the concerns surrounding the lack of finer detail within both the merchant and banker do constitute as grounds to seek a refund. People shouldn't need to go looking up google, the information should all be there at the point of sale. The onus is on ZoS to provide that information and be more transparent.

I can't say I blame you, it's a huge mistake on their side for not adding a more detailed description about an item that costs so much... but at the same time you could have saved yourself a lot of trouble if you'd have made a post here asking whatever questions you had, before buying the item.

Now instead of a simple "I need some info..." we have yet another "hate" thread.

They have been out for a year already, research your product before purchasing OP.

While it would be convenient for all of that, I must add that being able to SELL a full inventory anywhere without having to port back is a MASSIVE convenience you should not easily overlook.

Also it's not really a waste in the long run it's a good investment.

I have a char stuck in IC that has probably lost out on 20-50k of items on the floor just because of a full inventory RIP

If you are on PC/Mac, it's always a good idea to check the Crown Store options out on PTS, if you are on console, then Google is your friend, always read quite a few reviews of products before you buy them, even Crown Store ones, and seeing that you are already on the forums, it's best to do a forum search before dropping some crowns in the store, this issue has been discussed before at length.

You must note that they did only say that she will buy from you, they never said that she will sell supplies, same case with the banker, you have no access to guild bank or store.

Good with getting a refund.

Why should i need to google and ask around in forums before buying something in game? Should I just assume that everyone is trying to rip me off all the time? Seriously? It's basic merchant functionality... repairs! All merchants have it... a simple line in the description sayin. "Does not repair armor" would have made much more easier to decide whether I wan't to buy it or not.
They did mention that it does not go to cyrodiil? why not mention it doesn't repair?

You're basically defending this ambiguous practice and placing most of the blame on the consumer whilst absolving ZoS of any responsibility. The consumer shouldn't need to second guess what they're buying, we should know. Before any inane incoming car analogy happens (not specifically from yourself), researching a product is usually about reliability etc rather than the features or extras that come with that car.

I know when we think of merchants we think of the 'traditional merchant' that is found all across Tamriel in-game. So the fault lies in part with us for assuming just because they're called a merchant they'd be like the standard merchant in the game. It's also fairly careless of Zos to label her as a 'merchant', it's resonably misleading.

That's also misleading. She doesn't buy everything!. There's still ingame items that can't be sold to merchants, which I already assume is the case with this one as well. A simple line stating that she does not repair, just as she's not available in cyrodiil would have made it easier for me to make an informed decision, if it's useful to me or not....

In this case no. inventory space is not my biggest problem, I'd happily destroy trash if I have to. But I can't repair unless I have repair kits or visit a "regular" merchant, which was the main reason that I bought it.

It should at least be able to repair when placed inside your house.

At 5000 crowns, the two assistants are a ripoff. They don't do the only two things I ever visit a merchant and banker for (repairing gear and letting me access guild store).

Lockpicks and soul gems are so easily obtained that it's not even worth putting it into the merchant. I do agree with the repair kits. The merchant should carry them.

Making the crown store assistants provide less functions than their conterparts is a ridiculous decision.
What would ZOS lose by letting these assistants provide repairs and guild bank/trader access? NOTHING!

There really are some apologists on here. Find fault in everyone that dare to speak out about certain concerns. Just more detail. It's not too far fetched to think that repair services are included because almost every other merchant in the game offers the service other than a select few.

They took the time out to make it clear we can't use them in Cyrodiil, it would have taken mere minutes to add a little bit about not being able to repair. Add to that and because people like to nit pick, the description also states "When summoned, her services can be used by you and your groupmates" What services are they? I only see a single service that she offers. Services implies she offers more than a single service, which she doesn't. No doubt I'm dumb as *** for highlighting that too. But coming from the likes of you, I shall wear that as a badge of honour.

Well if you put it that way, then don't ever read reviews before buying something, people put up reviews just for the heck of it, and forums really only exist for self-entitled people to come and vent their ignorant frustrations.

Lazy self-entitled consumers are the reason why retail markets are like this today.

I understand it's a loss and it's pretty frustrating, but to defend ignorance and promote self-entitlement is not a healthy attitude.

Like I said before, I honestly wish you good luck on the refund. Let us know how it goes, because that it would set a precedent and many others will follow up with ZOS to get their refunds.

This is why I'm thankful that I never purchased that particular assistant. I got the banker (which is INCREDIBLY useful), and that was it.

I agree 100% that ZoS need to be clear in the descriptions for these items in the CS.

But IMO both merchant and banker is worth it in the long run. I bought both when they came out and I have no regrets. Have made my questing and gameplay more streamlined and without interuptions for small things. I make way more gold this way also..

I bought them a few days later after talking about it on guild chat, I was fully aware of their functionality and always use them, pretty helpful when grinding for gear or group dungeons.

Anyway staying on topic. This crown store item has has alot of bad reviews, especially comming from use es with high expectations that weren't met once purchased.

Agreed, not everyone who play ESO have activated their forum access, they should fix/improve the description.

It's basic sales ethics! When you deliberately leave information out to trick people in to buying things. If someone sells you a can of soda, with no soda inside I'm pretty sure you're going to be a bit upset. You assume that there's drinkable fluid in the can, because why the hell would you buy an empty can?

Same here... I'm assuming Merchant has basic merchant functionality (repairs that all in game merchants offer).... nothing weird about that... and I'm getting.... an empty can.

I wouldn't argue about it if I was the one forget to read the ingame description that it does not provide repairs... That's my fault because I didn't read it through... but in this case, there's no information. Just like you assume there's soda in the can, I assume the merchant offer repairs... Basic sales ethics! Deliberately misleading people or leaving out information for them to spend money, and not getting what they expected is not a nice way to do business, and probably is a criminal offence in many countries.

You're basically defending a lousy ethics on how you should perform business and leave people in the dark, and leave it up to them to protect them selves? ZoS is not an eBay scammer, it's a well known brand that should offer their customers detailed information on their purchases, that's the least I can expect unless they completely want to ruin their credibility.
