Streamers @ Zos - They are veterans

Why is everyone so focused on the players who have been invited to playtest at Zos headquarters being streamers/youtubers, but completely dismiss the fact that those are players who have been around since beta?
You might argue that some are PVP bias and might push Zos to balance the game towards that more and you are right. But remember, Battleground is coming, a more competitive gameplay than what we currently have. Those are the people who have stuck around through the good and the (sometimes really) bad. And others like Deltia have played through all aspects of the game. Those guys have created contents to help both newcomers and veterans alike and have given feedback when they were being ignored. Now that Zos is listening and asking them for feedback you have a problem?

    Different reasons for different people...

Just like in real life, access equals influence, influence equals power.

Some may not like or agree with the people invited, some may feel the people invited do not represent their interests, some may feel the people invited will use the access in a self serving way, some may feel they should have been invited / included.

Just as interesting to me as the people complaining are those with post such as yours, which seem to suggest the people invited are somehow both representative of the player-base at large, and the very best at communicating with ZOS, such that anyone with any concerns is just acting silly.

It's obvious why they were invited...and while being well versed in the game was a part of it, the biggest reason is because these players have audiences and can sway opinion, so making them feel special is simple marketing / lobbying 101.

    More cancerous you meant?
ZoS don't ask them for advice, they separated showmans from crowd and give them reason to hype their subscribers with "I'm lost my mind trying it out, but because of NDA i can't tell what i am talking about, you must wait four month to see it and spend your money on current TESO because it's gonna be awesome".

OP is correct. Some of the streamers and some other players that are heavily into PvP are probably the better choices to play test battlegrounds.

The objective is likely the design of the arenas and his the various setups for the different types of battlegrounds will play out.

I'd certainly not suggest myself for such testing nor the player who domains RD is OP because he died to 6 Templars using the skill on him at the same time.

It's the best players that often see design issues for such things better than
    The average player.

They totally should have invited this person from a random the other day. Said they played since beta, but could only manage to LA & HA with bow and 2h'er.

Again, focusing on the streaming. For all we know, there are a bunch of other people we have never heard of at Zos right now but they don't stream or make videos telling use they are playtesting. Besides, not everyone was invited, like KingRichard for example. You guys are making it sound like a conspiracy or something.

Khajiit just wishes she had the ability to randomly wander into one of their testing battlegrounds, uninvited, unexpected and just a touch drunk yes and then ask them to be quiet as this one she needs a nap.

Khajiit would then proceed to promptly fall asleep in the middle of the battleground.

Oh, wait... I thought we were talking about REAL veterans...

There's literally THOUSANDS of players who've been around since the Beta, why should some arrogant Streamers get to have more of a voice than the rest of us? I've watched some of those narcissistic *** videos, and they cater exclusively to the smallest of niche players in this game. Not to mention; it's been proven that Streamers add ZERO revenue to the games they cover. Most every person that watches them live-stream their arrogance, already owns the game that the streamer is playing, so they aren't actually convincing anyone to go out and purchase a game to help the associated developer/publisher, because the viewer ALREADY owns that very game.

Their opinions are highly polarized towards "fixing" the game to cater to the smallest minority of players in the game, and they definitely DO NOT speak for the majority of the player-base.

So why the hell shouldn't I be upset that they're getting more access to ZOS than the MAJORITY of the players, and that their severely bent opinions are convincing ZOS to change the game to their desires at the expense of the rest of us?

Twitch and "professional" streamers are a cancer on every game they focus on, and especially with MMO's.

Fact: Twitch and those arrogant ass-hat streamers could disappear like a fart in the wind tomorrow, and none of the games they cover would notice a bit of difference in their profit margins. Everything would go on, untouched, and the games would be better for it without their whining, incoherent screaming polluting the internet and poisoning the development path of the games they cover.

You guys also realize that Streamers are FREE sources of marketing for ZOS and ESO, right? So clearly they are trying to win the support of these people so as to continue generating free marketing and advertising for the game.

They take casualties but in the long run its the best option to listen Youtubers etc, well not the best but definitely safest option. Best would be if Zen was actually professional and made their own decisions, but MMORPGs has always been more or less community driven.

That is a really narrow way of seeing things. If you bothered to dig dipper you would find their are many other reasons. To reiterate:

    - have played the game for a while
    - given feedback about one or several aspects of the game
    - streamed or made videos showing they actually know the subject
    - they are different types of players, for example: Sypher is strictly solo, Fengrush prefer small group and Deltia loves a mix of end-game PVE/PVP

Then again, these are the people we heard about. There might be a lot more beta players at Zos right now who do not stream.

And in the subject of Twitch, countless times I have seen people asking about buying the game (not just ESO) in a stream; so yes it matters.

    Yup!

Listen Youtube/Streamers, take some casualties but community never should turn against Zen, instead against Streamers/Youtubers. Or then Zen make own decisions and the community might turn against them and they lose it all, hell Fanbois might save it though. Those are the options, imho.

I prefer putting the game in the hands of people who understand this game, instead of a lot of noobs, sorry but that's just the truth, just like you wouldn't put a business in the hands of a person with no experience. I value the words of an experienced player much more then the first dude around, you may disagree, but to me it's just because you feel offended that i don't value your words as much.

The fear is these people getting power to speak for everyone when they don't. The game has so much elitism in it that many players are getting tired how ZOS gives them a voice over us all. Just look at how group content is handled. Many players won't even bother with it anymore and down the road this is going to become a huge problem for this game.

I'm a verteran who served 20 years in the Marine Corps, eight of those on Force Recon. Those were some of the greatest years of my life, and...

You know why they value the words of those players much more than yours? It's because they have a name, they are famous, of course they are gonna teke they're words much more seriously, you have an enormous amount of evidence that points that they are good players, what do you have? Nothing, nothing at all. Make a name for yourself in the game or very little will happen.

Do you honestly think the guys that were invited are actually famous?

Well they are much more famous than you, in this game.

I don't know why people spend so much time worrying about other people doing whatever other people do. From ZoS's pov they are free marketing, they can give them a good sales pitch and they will go out and evangelize Morrowind on their streams and sell boxes. This was actually a good decision by their marketing team.

I really hope they got a good buy on that super bowl spot, because the guy who rationalized that buy, I don't know what to say, but I hope the person got a good kick back from the ad buy or a future job.
    “Whatever.”
