Why did you change the lighting?

I used to love how the lights and lamps lit up the room during the night when I placed them out in the house. But now, for some reason when I try the PTS out again the lightning has changed. And only lit up now if you are close to the candles or lightsorce in question? This is really offputting for me as I want my house to be super light all the time. This darkness in here is just making me feel really annoyed and just makes me want to turn up the gamma on my screen just to be able to see things clearly, instead of what I did before and put out alot of cozy candles and hanging lamps to light up the entire room. I loved it before that you could turn on and off the lights as you wanted. But now it only lits up when you are close. Please change it back to how it used to be :( I really loved it. Otherwise I don't feel there is any use to have candles or anything around. Might aswell wait until the day comes back.

It's bad enough that the longer you play Homestead the more limitations you discover, but things that used to work have stopped.

Indeed. This honestly makes me so sad. The homes just seems so more darker and gloomy now :/

Sorry, but I have to say it... it's "lighting" not "lightning"... here I thought they had done something awful with lightning staff or something.

EDIT: Definitely a bug. I experience it in more than half the houses (it just so happens the one I was decorating wasn't affected when i made this post).

Home alone in the dark.. that is not really how I like it.

Maybe they will add adjustable ambient lighting? Otherwise who will buy or stay in they house for long?

Please tell me it's a bug? I don't dare to buy the houses until I acually know I won't be standing there in darkness, not beeing able to see all the nice things I've been building :/

I was really looking forward to buying my house on Monday, but I will be holding off for now until I am 100% certain that this issue is fixed.

hope it's a bug. Houses are already lifeless sepulchres but at least they could be lit.

No wonder things looks so dark. It seems the acuall light light is effected by this aswell. This is during the day.

    This is in Ravenhurst

    JTAdw1y.jpg

When walking close, the lightning from one of the windows acually appears.

Until you get close enough and the light functions as it should... On that spot.

I noticed this too last night. It really ruins the atmosphere of the houses, and it makes it nearly impossible to work with the larger interiors.

    It's a disaster.

Some houses weren't affected by this 'bug' before the last patch, now they all seem to be, this worries me very much for Monday

What worries me is that they've ignored all of our posts on it, while not acknowledging it in the patch notes.

It's like they want a tidal wave of refund requests on Monday once all the players who weren't on PTS buy a house with crowns and realize it's a broken mess.

They're going to get that even if it worked as intended, this is the ESO community.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Will we hear anything regarding this before Monday? I know I won't dare to buy the houses until I know if this is fixed. :/ It just isn't enjoyable to decorate in this darkness.

I had planned on using crowns to buy a house or two for my wife and me, but I think we'll be waiting until they fix this first.

I'd strongly recommend checking out the houses you want to buy yourself when the update goes Live.

I haven't seen this at all with Ravenhurst and the medium Imperial home which are the two most people complain about, but I have seen it with Velothi Reverie (and one other but I can't remember which). My favourite house (Mournoth Keep) actually goes the other way and looks lighter inside than it should given the small windows and relatively few light sources it starts off with. But that's fine with me.

Yes definately. It appears to effect different houses for different people. Or it might not effect a house and then log out and back in and suddenly it does. It did appear to be fixed after removing every light and starting over but the threshold is unknown, so if you go one light over the limit for the area-it happens again :/ (fyi though: i didn't test that out comprehensively. Just in one house)

You'll know in a few hours either by checking it out in game, or by looking through the natch potes.

If it's still bugged I'm sure you'll hear all about it in general chat. But yeah, hopefully it'll be in the natch potes.

Hopefully they have fixed that in the Live version. Lighting is one of the rather important parts of how you perceive your environment.
