Surveys don't drop new mats?

Seems odd they wouldn't, but it appears they don't. Can you confirm if this is intended @ZOS_GinaBruno pretty please?

I believe it is intended, and IMO, completely ridiculous. Surveys if anything should have a higher chance to drop these. All this does is devalue surveys even more and promote mindless farming and Bots.

I couldn't agree more. Hopefully it's just an oversight, because otherwise, that just seems extremely stupid

been spending all my gold on raw mats because I was saving surveys, and now I've saved surveys for nothing…

Poor consoles here but I followed the thread they did drop on some after people questioned thinking perhaps that not dropping was unintended as a normal person would think that.
Upon learning this ZOS fixed it so they don't drop any of the new mats ( sometimes I think they get the word fixed and broke backwards myself) Cleary they intend to make us all fight for nodes as we clearly enjoy it, nothing like grinding and sucking the fun out and we don't need those infrequently rewarded writ surveys to reward in line with there content apparently as that would be more devestating than proc sets or argonion swim speed or something.

Ludicrous they went through with this, seems they at least increased drop rates on the materials though it feels like, but still very counter intuitive to crafting as a whole to void the surveys.

Oh no oversight, it absolutely is intended. In fact alchemy surveys were dropping the new mats and they patched that out last week on the pts.

You aint the only one. These surveys are spread all over the damn place and are BARELY worth doing. The enchanter ones are completely usuless as far as I am concerned.

Most people that are serious about writs (until today, there weren't that many of us), used surveys as our substitute for farming. Rather than mindlessly run around a farm, we would save surveys for a few weeks and then spend a couple hours farming them. If in craglorn, they dropped nirn (at a higher rate from what I can tell), In wrothgar they dropped whatever that stuff is to make ancient orc, etc. It is only natural that they should drop what any node can drops. The best part is that nobody could mess up your farm.

Now we are going to be back to node camping and Bots as far as the eye can see. If you wanted to prevent people from hoarding, then you should have changed the surveys that dropped post patch in someway. This is either Lazy, Stupid, or both.

Yep I predict bots will be even more of an issue soon...

Maybe they intend to not have them in the survey nodes now, since there are a ton of us that horded the maps... But will add them in later once housing is no longer brand new.

Wow, that is hard to believe. I can't even believe the logic behind that. I've been hoarding surveys for a few weeks now too...
