Was excited for homestead but the furniture inventory system killed that.

The fact that furniture (even that purchased from the crown store) goes into your inventory and takes up bag space is ridiculous. I expected the items to go to the same inventory for decorating as pets/banker/etc. Instead, the items go into your real inventory.

Housing has gone from exciting to tedious inventory management. If you buy a refurnished home and expect to easily be able to redecorate it by reclaiming all the items and doing it from scratch, think again.

For those wondering: I do have ESO plus but no, furniture does not go into the crafting bag. You CAN place furniture in the bank and place it from there but this is very clunky (you place an item, decide you don’t like it and retrieve it but now it is in your inventory) and just a way to nickel and dime players. (by forcing them to buy banker for in-home access to a bank.)

This has been common knowledge since PTS and even discussed on the last ESO Live.

The general thought is you should get an empty house as a warehouse to store items you don't use.

Not only is that clunky, it's tedious. You have no way of remembering what you have, of searching for the items, of easily clearing out a decorated home to restyle it. You need to contend with load screens both there and back.

As I said, housing went from something fun and relaxing to inventory management. Inventory management is not fun.

Laziness on Zenimax's part does not justify the outcome of placing a laborious burden on the players.

Any medium house should meet all of your furniture storage needs. And if you're a real hard core hoarder, just plop down 3.7 mil gold/10k crowns and buy a mansion and turn it into a warehouse. Hey it comes with a nice title. B)
(Trust me, you've probably spent more on inventory and bank slot upgrades already.)

    Which reminds me,
how about the items "to be collectioned" that also fills our inventory. We can't put them in the bank. It is not added in the "to collection" item list. My question is: Can we sell these items or store them in the House without risking to not be able to complete the success?

Well yes, but we get what we get.

They've had feedback, they've released what they have. I sucks, but that's what it is. Much like life.

Absolutely correct--but IF a fix is coming to the housing inventory issue, it (probably) won't be soon, so it's worth sharing the warehouse thing to make everyone's life easier in the meantime.

Kinda makes you wonder why no one in the entire Bethesda-office thought of that.
I mean, that was literally the first thing that popped into my head when they announced housing half a year ago. Anyone with half a sense for the game would have thought about that.

Or, they did it deliberatelly to sell more bagspace / more houses because we need storage. In that case its a ingenious, but evil marketingstrategy.

Wait Zos came up with a clunky p.i.t.a. system on how to do something, and then left it that way?!

Im shocked! Stunned!! They have such a good track record for smooth easy to use interfaces, with all the common sense problems worked out of them.

They have talked about the possibility of a furniture bag, but said said that it poses very different coding/performance issues to the crafting bag because whereas the crafting bag typically carries a hundred items in stacks of a thousand, a furniture bag would typically carry thousands of items in stacks of one. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes one day but it clearly isn't going to come any time soon.

I didn't mess with furniture on the PTS, I just previewed the houses, but does it stay in your inventory after you've placed it?

We really couldn't all feel the unified frustrations because some people have that pesky crafting bag. So housing to the rescue! :s:D

I am planning on getting all three of the "free" Apartments from the quests. Not buying furniture, but I will have a place to store the pieces that appeal to me, at least.

One of my characters will probably turn into a furniture mule, too...

Thanks for that info. Hearing reasons is helpful.
It's too bad no one will read this. The popular thing is to skip info so we can keep complaining ;)
Still pretty bummed this wasn't considered at the start though. And that we're still waiting on fixes like lighting that weren't launched... But I guess it boils down to no housing for months if they waited. (Too bad that's also going to make people like me not buy right now and wait til later to play with the thing.)

I don't think it does. I wasn't playing in my inventory specifically, but I know in the creator setting something consumed it.

I was referring to the Count Title, does that come with just one house? I did get an Achievement on the PTS when I bought one, but I thought the Count Title only came after the third house. I mostly previewed houses on the PTS, not the process.
