Class change service and the new Warden class

That would be the best way to solve the issue, in my opinion.

I'm still not sold on class change, but If it was done this way I think it would work best.

Have other MMO's in the past offered class changes when bringing in new classes?

I've not seen it, but then my MMO list has always been a bit more of the niche ones not mainstream.

Who cares about other MMOs??? Everyone says that ESO is different, that ESO is not WOW and so and now you ouse other MMOs on your favor! Pathetic!
It's funny how when saying ESO should be more like another MMO supports an argument that's the case (auction house) and when ESO being different helps that's the case.

Not you personally CarbonX but the community opinion over all.

In the same way that the results of a poll in the forum is only representative of the opinion of the players if it supports people's argument - otherwise, they pull the "not everybody visits the forums" argument (I actually saw the same person saying it against one poll and then going to another poll and mocking the OP because "turns out the player base is against you", on the same week).

Either way, I don't think the argument should be "other MMOs do it". More like, it is a player-friendly and decent thing for a company to offer when they add an option that wasn't there at release, be it class or race (and we already have race change).

I do not support unrestricted class change. I support class change exclusively to the new class, every time a new class is added, available only to existing characters. Add a big red warning sign saying that the class change is PERMANENT, that the person won't be able to go back to the class they were before, and knock the class skills levels back to 0 (you are learning them all again after all, are you not?). I support class change if you lose all titles, pvp rank, skill line rank, and trait research.

Lol. Why? They earned it all anyways. Not like people will have something they didn't previous. If anything deleting those things would be lost forever. Makes no sense.

Oh you earned all those things? Well let's just delete all your achievements because you want to play a new class.

They're thinking, exclusively, about Stormproof and (maybe) Flawless Conqueror... and that's it. But, yeah, that's an entirely reasonable argument for wiping Magnanimous and Sun's Dusk Reaper off a character. :p

I start a new character now, because of the riding lessons. I don't play with it just learn riding lessons in the next 4 month I can learn enough riding lessons.
If I do this, can I change to that lvl3 character to the new Warden class?

This is even more important for those who have no free character slot. Or we will get character slot cap raise too?

    Edit: -race, +class

    @ChuckyPayne

There is not a class change available and it is unlikely to be added for you to be able to do so.

It took me 9 months to complete the quest zones and craglorn, to completionist point, all skyshards, and all FG, MG, and main story questlines...doesnt include new zones.

The thought of changing classes is completely daunting. When i created my only toon, back in april 2014, i wanted to recreate my favorite toon from my favorite MMO (that i ironically stopped playing after getting into ESO). I was playing a BM hunter as my only toon in WoW...so this...this sucks. Now i have to start all over to get the experience ive wanted since launch. I would pay 50 bucks for a class change! Hell i would probably play one to level 50 and level up all morphs and class lines just to make sure it was what i wanted to pay for to change my main over

There no reason not to implement it, just because you guys dont want to see a player get to play a new class and retain old achievements and accomplishments? ***....off....im just trying to save me 9 months again, and also trying to satiate my completionist mentality, which doesnt let me enjoy the game untill my toon is achievment complete on quests/ exploration/ and skill lines/ skill points....completely turns me off from releveling...

    I support a class change.

Personally, any time a new chapter/xpac is released, there should be an option to purchase a one time class change (per that chapter). You can change to any class you want.

Why you feel like you have to have all those achievements on your new char? Achievemnt and acomplishments are tied to your class because it defines your skill. Why would you think you'd be able to achieve all that on a new one. And if you think you would prove it, if you care so much.

U dont get the point of class change guys i want to class change not to be max lvl but to save my achivments and titles that i have on my main character + also mount lvl and Aliance War rank which is pretty high!!!!

You can't do that with any other class so why would the new class be any different? That aside why should a character that hasn't actually done anything have a high rank and lots of achievements?

The only thing that matters for game play in your message is mount level and again you have to do that with every character now so why change?

I can't believe the number of people who are willing to ditch their character's existing class and switch to the class they swear their character was born to and which they know with absolute certainty would have been the class they would have chosen up to 3 years ago had it been available then - all on the basis of a short video, a few words from the developers and a bit of semi-reliable data-mining.

I suggest they at least try the class out on the PTS before deciding that it's the class of their dreams. It's a safe bet that it will not be and that as soon as the class appears there will be a plethora of threads moaning about it.

I'm not in favour of class changes, and nor it seems are ZOS which is rather more to the point. The solution for those who don't want to lose their main's achievements, titles and alliance ranks etc is quite simple - don't re-roll or delete the character. The solution for those who don't have any free slots is equally simple - get another one. I think there's a strong argument for one of the extra slots to be included within the Morrowind purchase at no extra cost, and one being free with the other one being in the Crown Store would be a sensible compromise in my view.

From a marketing standpoint, I'm not sure a class change token is a great idea if I'm ZOS.

One of the things that a new expansion and a new class brings to the game is "new life". Meaning people will need to log in and level the new class from 1-50. The population boon in the lower level zones (I realize 1T means you can go anywhere, but I don't think many newbies know they can do that, and to be honest I play it the old way just because it's easier from a linear perspective) will attract others into the game. Why? It looks more active.

Those same people may have been playing anyways, but not as visible to the newbies. And when an inevitable Reddit thread asks about the state of the game, people will say that it's been packed.

Beyond that, having people retrain riding and leveling skill lines, etc, is a great way to keep people playing and getting their money from the crown store for DLC and cosmetics. Some may not continue playing knowing they have to go through the grind again, but I bet more people will stay than leave due to it... and then add the new people that the expansion is going to bring with it.

Just my two cents. I don't care either way. I'll level my warden from scratch. Just throwing out another point of view.

Those of you who are saying you don't wish to 'waste time' leveling a new character to 50 for the warden. That tells me the system is working as intended. I don't want you trying a new class if you're not willing to level it. Stick to the same thing you've been playing.

Completely your own problem. Other players should not have to suffer fotm rerolls for cash because you are overly attatched to a single charachter. One situation is a problem for you, the other is a problem for many.

Some people do like to play through everything with a single character. And the introduction of the Warden class would force them to create an alt if they want to play a Warden. So I can see their point of view on that.

ZOS has been about letting players experience all the content on a single character if that is their chosen playstyle. As long as no achievements are involved with it, I say why not sell class change tokens in the Crown Store?

This is the first time we've had a new class so I wouldn't be surprised if the demand for class change tokens increases in the future. It would be an easy money maker for ZOS.

No. the introduction of the warden doesn't change a thing... right now a single character can only play 1 class. Let's say it is a DK, how would that single character experience sorcerer gameplay ? It can't, exactly like it is with the new warden...

It's a roleplaying game. It's not about the player, it's about the character.

I think people that get this confused tend to say things like "I've done this" and "I've done that", and whilst true you have because you're playing the game, it's really your character that has done these things, really. Playing a role, it's less about ourselves and more about our characters. That's the classic role playing game; playing your character, warts and all, and that's what ESO's history is.

But in this seemingly selfish world these days, where egos often appear to take centre stage, where many profess to wanting it all right now, and most seem to gladly consume themselves with, well themselves, I'm sure it's only the extreme minority that understand this difference.

ZoS may get rid of levels altogether one day (and just have CP), and they may relax class restrictions, who knows. But it's doubtful.
If you can be anything, be kind.

It should take you around 1 week to make out all skills, passives and so on whith just normal questing, skyshard hunting and so on.

The biggest problem is the grind for other achievments, such as motifs, dark anchors, AvA rank and so on.

It is just stupid to regrind all that rubbish again, it is bad enough as it is right now, do it all over again? damn.....

Most of that difficult stuff really isn't even required on every character. Achievements motifs anchors are really not that important for every character.

Morrowind Expansion should not only come with 2 additional fee characters slots but one free character slot too or one free class change token.

Im not paying 40E on an expansion pack to play a new race if i have to pay 15E more for an additional character slot too.

I don't get why so many people seem to think a class-change should be provided just because a new class is being released. In every other MMO I've ever played - you don't get this. You kind of play it from the beginning - with that new class. Why would anybody expect anything different?

In that case the race change should not be made available for the first half year lets say for the warden class. Anyway we will require one additional free character slot at least.

    @nordmarian

We will require one additional free character slot? While there is a greater chance of that happening vs a class change option (since Zos has said no to class change multiple times), I really doubt Zos will find need to give us a free character slot.
