✭✭✭I don't think ESO is the best mmo for 2016, but the best IMPROVED mmo in 2016. 1-tamriel was a huge leap forward for me. Although I haven't logged in a while, since I need to cut 80.000 logs in BDO to craft a sailboat, I really look forward to continue by journey soon.
I already pre-ordered the Morrowind expansion physical CE just to show my support for this game. ESO is gradually improving for most aspects. Now to fix PvP because I am turning slowly into a PvE peasant. (balancing has to improve before morrowind because 4*4*4 arena's will rely more on balanced classes then open world PvP imho)٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶

✭✭✭✭✭There's definitely one thing worth noting about ESO winning this award: People who play ESO almost all love the game!
Even the people that badmouth it 24/7 or have criticisms over the game (whether over new content or bugs/lag) still enjoy itall the time. Complaints are there to improve ESO and keep it great. Personally I think it's well-deserved award. They've created a phenomenal Elder Scrolls MMO.
Overtime ZOS has managed to introduce most all of their needed bug fixes as well as the Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood guilds and Imperial City which is very fitting TES content. The scaling changes with One Tamriel were enormous too.
Essentually the days of fixing a million questing bugs and implementing fundamental changes to the game like with One Tamriel has finally passed. In the future I expect them to fully focus on new content, quarterly balance changes, and performance improvements. Pretty optimistic tbh

On an overall view, nothing comes even close to ESO in terms of a mix of gameplay, quests, exploring, very rich lore, systems and yes even PVP! Love ESO! Grats ZOS!PC/DC/NAserver

EVE won MMO of the year for like 5 years straight on there, before ESO took over.
Also, the Alpha Clone update wasn't as well received as One Tamriel - not because of Alpha Clones from what I heard but from other things added around it.ESO Balance:

Then there are a good bit on PC only who problably tried this and other games.
It's just more ppl in terms of the possible audience so it's going to always win.
My observation is how swayed the poll is thinking about active subscribers or paying customers for each.
I actually did a LOL when I saw the poll cause I thought to myself, thats kinda close considering how many more millions are exposed to it due to consoles. They probably knew that PS4 / One would be strong enough to run it and they did not want an huge ability bar anyway so it was pretty easy to adjust. It might have cost us on ability slot.

✭Nice. I like this game. Just not so keen on the company that makes it.
They are no better or worse than any other Video game developer, I worked with many over my long years before I retired, what I use to find Ironic is how the gaming community will cheer certain dev houses that had this little guy/super ethical reputation and they were just as greedy just and dismissive of what people wanted and they were backed by Venture Capitalist that had their fingers in some very very unethical things.
Business always has and always will be like that. I look at individuals at a company not the company and in my view ZoS, Anet, and Turbine/Standing Stone has some good eggs working for them.
