NOTE: I still play this game and I enjoy it very much, but I do see room for improvement.
After the announcement of the Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, I have been seeing a lot of hate against the game.
There are still folks who keep saying that they should just make Elder Scrolls IV, even though Bethesda did not make ESO, and Fallout 4 has been around for only a year.
But looking past that, their arguments boils down to 2 points.
1. ESO does not feel like and Elder Scrolls game.
2. ESO feels like another MMO and does not break any barriers
Now while some of us can say that the first point is an invalid argument because it is an MMO, Zenimax did base their product to a franchise that is known for its immersive pole playing experiences that allow players to do what they want when they want.
Although Elder Scrolls Online is an MMO, when the developers heard this criticism, they did their best to make ESO feel more like Elder Scroll game.
One Tamriel was one such move to offer players the freedom that they were used to in the Elder Scrolls series.
One of the highest praises Zenimax received for its DLC content, such as Orsinium, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood, was that those felt more like an Online Elder Scrolls game.
For many people that still hold a grudge against this game its because felt like a generic MMO, which in part was due to the lackluster environments in vanilla zones.

The combat felt like any other MMO combat, in their opinion, and did not play like an Elder Scrolls game. They were also not very happy about FPV gameplay.
What these people want is an Online Elder Scrolls game, not an MMO that is set in Elder Scrolls. You see the difference?
They want the Elder Scrolls experience that they can share with their friends.
Now we are slowly getting there. Each update and change has edged us closer to a game that feels more like an Elder Scroll game with more players.
Side Note:
There are people who dislike the idea of being apart of something rather than being the center of the story, or the only person in the land that could become the most powerful character in the game. I think some of those people have insecurity issues.
That is their perspective on things.
I think the game has a lot to offer, with the huge amount of variety and the supportive community it has.
