That's nice
I would rather see class change being added, though.

Agreed.
If increasing the slot cap is the "solution" to the problem, I'm going to dread the thought of every new chapter, as it might come with a new class and I might have to reroll a several years old character whose role is better served with that new class. That's just not feasible, and I can hardly put into words how upsetting this is.
I mean, especially with introducing a frost skill line. People have been trying to make frost builds work despite a dedicated skill line, and now all those efforts will have been for naught because I can't use the new skills on my existing character.
It's the exact content-gating you supposedly wanted to get rid off.
Please give this more thought.

PREACH brother/sister. I really hope they consider this. Since they have been silent on the issue so far I'm not sure (obviously it could go either way). If they are going to give the option to switch to the Warden class and not others I can see people freaking out, which in turn may ultimately make them not release this option at all (does that make sense!?) it could be tricky conundrum.
At the same time, they love making money so maybe for a hefty price they will just release an open class change. Who knows, time will tell. I just really wish they would give us a swap to warden at least.
BloodWolfe wrote: »I also just want to say, to all those asking for a "class change token"... please just STOP asking for this! It will never happen and is the most ridiculous request ever! No MMO offers class changes and don't bring up FFXI or FFXIV because those had different class mechanics and don't really count as class changes aren't changes but just levelling a secondary or tertiary class to unlock a new job (advanced class) so doesn't compare. Looking at other MMO's, I don't know any that allow class changes so stop asking for this! Oh and to request this so you can change an alt to the Warden is even more ridiculous, why would they allow you to class change to the new class right away if they did ever offer class changes? My god some people are so lazy!
I always expected that if they introduced a new class I'd have to buy character slots in order to play it. Naturally I would prefer to get a couple of extra slots free with the expansion in order to create characters of the new class from the expansion, but I didn't expect that.White wabbit wrote: »So now have to buy the expansion and two extra slots as well to say I'm a bit miffed is a understatement

So I either have to delete a space or buy another two just so I can play the new class , well if that doesn't sound like them trying to fleece us of more $
Maybe when they get enough fleece they can make you a new sweater.

IMO, they should have given us one slot with the expansion but made 2 additional available for purchase for a total of 15.

Go cry to Tumbler, we live in a capitalistic society, Free stores and income for doing nothing is unrealistic. ESO isn't a really alt centric game to begin with, if you're looking for that there are many choices available.

Thank you so much for the confirmation! Having to delete a master angler to play a new class would have sucked!

Don't worry sub has been cancelled and I will go play something else at end of March , and I know that they have to have a income somewhere I have no issue paying for the expansion , but when I've already payed to have the maxed slots available and then they bring out a new class , the expansion should have two free slots with it

This just makes me shake my head.
What exactly did you want?
- No new slots? So you'd have to delete a character or two, but hey at least you wouldn't have to pay any more!
- Free new slots? And devalue the purchase of every single person who has bought character slots already, and may or may not care about making a new one?
- No new class? At least you wouldn't have to consider opening you wallet then. Maybe this is the best choice for you.
Sigh. I've never seen more entitled opinions or sheer personal financial incompetence than I have on these forums over the last 24 hours.

Even a limited time offer to change one character to a newly released class would be absolutely fine, and not harmful to the "meta" at all.
The only concerns I've seen is that with purchasable class changes people would always change to a flavor-of-the-month class, and that there shouldn't be max level Wardens just right after it has been added to the game. Both of these could be solved by offering a one-directional class change to a new class a few months (preferably with the next update) after that class has been released for the first time.
