I want weapon dyes, but only if they stay in colours which make sense. #NoPinkSwords
you dont need weapon dyes, change style of your damn weapon to change color. for example v160 soulshriven weapons are coal black, glass weapons are translucent green.
Problem is, that i dont like above mentioned styles, nor I want green or black blade. I want my blade look like blade - made from metal, not glass, coal or potato.
Not wanting black blades is pure heresy.
Burn me! Burn the heretic! :-)
Yes, and we have teeny tiny bosmeri women with large gozongas waggling around in very little clothing. It's not very interesting that you chose an example that displeases you instead of this one. How many people dye their gear bright obnoxious colors after having dyes available for years? Some styles don't show off the color nearly as much, such as Mercenary, Soul Shriven. It's just something you need to put your mind past and try not to focus on too much.
I mean really if we had Weapon Dyes people would go around with bright Yellow or Pink weapons. We already have giant Male characters in Wedding Dresses, you KNOW they're not above this.
So much more needlessly complex than just working in the current dye system onto weapons, and limiting too.TheShadowScout wrote: »I am pretty sick of red weapons, so I am all for some sort of weapon color change option.
Could be weapon dyeing, even if they limited the "business parts" of the weapon to metallic colors only it'd be pretty nifty to be able to recolor your blades to something more reasonable.
Could be style recrafting, possibly with the added option of choosing the "crafting material color" in the process, which would again limit to the available metals, but that too would be good enough.
Ok ok maybe if we didn't call it "dye" people would stop freakin out so much, call it something else, give us a METAL color scheme to work with. The metal colors are already there in the game, let us choose with those.
On the other hand, who gives a rats ass seriously, about pink or blue or whatever? I mean, we can have pink Heavy Armor... its the same thing lol! Understood the argument before armor dyeing, now it makes no sense at all. I can dye my armor any color and look as ridiculous as Id like but my freakin sword has to be realistic? That argument has become invalid. Also, that red isn't realistic anyway. So, still... invalid.
Personally Id love a metal scheme to work with and YES I'm sick of all my top lvl weapons being red.
Things existing in-game include: Red/pink, blue, green, yellow... All we'd be doing by limiting it to the existing artwork colors, is less options of what shade of these colors. Needlessly restrictive. Though I WOULD like it if we could unlock dyes that matched item tiers precisely, perhaps by upgrading things in that level tier to a certain level or some other achievement.NewBlacksmurf wrote: »I don't want weapon dyes
I do want the ability to change the artwork or material which addresses this.
I do not want to see weird colors in the game. I like what exists but it's just too limited in the level restrictions.

We already "dye" metal, and other sorts of things like bone or whatever, on armors that are expected to take a repeated beating. I don't know why people are suddenly up-in-arms about muh realism when it comes to weapons, haha.Things existing in-game include: Red/pink, blue, green, yellow... I'd take weapon dying over jewelry crafting tbh.Lord_Dexter wrote: »There are important things to prioritize i.e. jewelry crafting, able to change style etc. Then weapon dying

@KochDerDamonen
Specific to your reply on my comment. I think you've misunderstood it completely.
I'm not talking about colors.
I'm suggesting that instead of being limited to one material type which does cause the item to have a color and appearance, I'm saying that the ability to craft as well as change a drop to any of the artwork that's determined by the material, it the level restrictions were removed, that would allow much better color changes that actually look real vs just changing a weapons color

Ironically enough, thanks to rubedite, now we know.
It ain't.
