Or just give us an option to coat our weapons with the materials we have skills for.

Won't even mind if I have to buy and spend an ingot or two.

One reason I'm in no rush to get to CP160 is that I'm enjoying using weapons that look like they're made from metal.

Weapon dying would be a good fix.

The other option would be a restyle system. There's been numerous variations on this proposed and personally I don't mind too much how it works. For me the key points are you have to own the object with the style you want before you can apply it to another object, and it should work across all equipment - including dropped pieces. If you want your super-rare dungeon helm to look like a level 20 crafted one you should have that option. Other than that I don't mind how it works.

But weapon dying is probably easier to implement. (Probably, the developers of Guild Wars 2 claim it would involve re-writing the entire system for equipping weapons and re-making every single weapon in the game because of how they designed it originally, but that seems to be unique to that one game. As far as I know ZOS haven't said anything similar.)

TO be honest I can see why weapon dyes are a good thing, for examplethe crafting for glass weapons is a horrible greenish white and I would LOVE to dye that.

BUT most of the time im too busy stabbing other players or using my weapon to care what color it is.

Red for all the blood of my enemies!

Stop this, we already have the option of running around in purely bright pink/blue/purple/red/green(very green((very very green)))... how often do you see someone dressed like that?

Some styles don't show off the color nearly as much, such as Mercenary, Soul Shriven. It's just something you need to put your mind past and try not to focus on too much.

I mean really if we had Weapon Dyes people would go around with bright Yellow or Pink weapons. We already have giant Male characters in Wedding Dresses, you KNOW they're not above this.

I am so sick of red weapons, I cannot even use the motifs I like for weapons because they come out blood red. I really, really want weapon dying. I remember an ESO live where they said that weapon dying was a hotly debated topic internally. Why would this be hotly debated? It seems that a "yes" to the decision would be a no-brainer. Its just the matter of the ETA. Please don't make me quote Matt on the ETA side.. It hurts too much now.

I understand the desire for the ability to dye a person's weapons, I do. IMO, personally, I rather like my Crimson Rubedite swords, but I wouldn't argue against the option to dye weapons.

To be quite honest, I like the look of Voidsteel Weapons even more than the Rubedite, and I'd love the option to craft Voidsteel Weapons at CP160. But that's not likely to happen at all, which is a shame. I've got so many stacks of the "lesser" CP ingots, I'd love to be able to craft items at CP160 using those other mats.

But again, this won't ever happen, so... even though I won't use it, let them dye their weapons ZOS. It harms nothing in the game, nor does it devalue anything in the game.

I am pretty sick of red weapons, so I am all for some sort of weapon color change option.

Could be weapon dyeing, even if they limited the "business parts" of the weapon to metallic colors only it'd be pretty nifty to be able to recolor your blades to something more reasonable.

Could be style recrafting, possibly with the added option of choosing the "crafting material color" in the process, which would again limit to the available metals, but that too would be good enough.

Ok ok maybe if we didn't call it "dye" people would stop freakin out so much, call it something else, give us a METAL color scheme to work with. The metal colors are already there in the game, let us choose with those.

On the other hand, who gives a rats ass seriously, about pink or blue or whatever? I mean, we can have pink Heavy Armor... its the same thing lol! Understood the argument before armor dyeing, now it makes no sense at all. I can dye my armor any color and look as ridiculous as Id like but my freakin sword has to be realistic? That argument has become invalid. Also, that red isn't realistic anyway. So, still... invalid.

Personally Id love a metal scheme to work with and YES I'm sick of all my top lvl weapons being red.

you dont need weapon dyes, change style of your damn weapon to change color. for example v160 soulshriven weapons are coal black, glass weapons are translucent green.

Problem is, that i dont like above mentioned styles, nor I want green or black blade. I want my blade look like blade - made from metal, not glass, coal or potato.

Not wanting black blades is pure heresy.

At this point I don't care if ZOS implements dye packs for weapons from a pre-selected allotment of colors specific for weapons, I'm just tired of all my weapons look like they've been soaked in the blood of my enemies. I mean, that's the inevitable, but... the crimson has gotta go.

    I'm not talking about colors.
I'm suggesting that instead of being limited to one material type which does cause the item to have a color and appearance, I'm saying that the ability to craft as well as change a drop to any of the artwork that's determined by the material, it the level restrictions were removed, that would allow much better color changes that actually look real vs just changing a weapons color
