Also would be in addition to. So you have the base game patch and in addition to that you get all the other stuff mentioned.
@kargen27
Just asking for clarification here.
If something such as the base game "also features" something that's referring to the "base game" and that an aspect of that includes or now has X
It seems you're saying that's not what it means?
It means when they did the update for the base game they included crafting bags for ESO+ members. They were a part of the also.
@kargen27
But that's not what's written and it's even clarified in the intro and later in the notes and placed under base game not under dlc or ESO plus sections.
What do you mean it is not what is written? You even quoted it.
@kargen27
Below is a direct link to what Gina considers the New Features, updates and big changes specific to what she writes all are "Base Game Patch" so everything below is a base game patch.
Notice that, everything is base game which means you can access it without ESO Plus, except for one item.
Matt F's announcement says base game patch updates were said to always not require ESO Plus. Below that is contradicted.ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »NEW FEATURES / UPDATES / BIG CHANGES

ESO Plus members will now receive access to the Craft Bag.
- Craft Bags are an additional inventory section which does not count against your inventory limit, is shared across all characters on the account, and can hold an effectively unlimited number of all basic crafting supplies.
- If your membership expires, you will still have access to the resources stored in your Craft Bag, but you will be unable to add any new materials to it.
- Loot that goes to your Craft Bag has a special call out in the Loot History.
- Crafting Materials from your inventory and account bank will automatically go to the Craft Bag upon login.

Yes, just as I have been telling you and you quoted it again. Crafting bags for ESO+ members was included in the base game patch. Nobody is arguing whether or not it was included with the base game patch. It obviously was. Base game simply means you do not need to purchase DLC to have access. ESO+ members with no DLC have crafting bags. Makes sense that it be added to the game along with a base patch. You do not have to buy any additional content to get crafting bags. All you need to do is subscribe. If you were forced to purchase Wrothgar DLC to get the crafting bags you would have a point. Being a subscriber I am hoping they will come out with more ESO+ exclusive benefits.
@kargen27
Actually people are arguing that
You're missing the context completely
Did you listen to the ESO live starting at approx 17:00 ?
The context said there and what was written under One Tamriel and ESO plus until they changed it....was that "all base game updates would not require a subscription".
Technically they never said I wouldn't have to buy it with dlc. That actually isn't an issue
I'm trying to see where you are coming from, but I still can't. I like to be partial about these things. So basically they said "All base game updates would not require a subscription", then we look back at past patch notes and see that Crafting Bags are 'considered' to be part of the base game updates and written under Base Game.....therefore, it should be a base game feature. Is this interpretation, correct?
@Qyrk
Yes but it is still a base game feature. The ESO plus gates adding items into it tho with a required subscription which they said they wouldn't do.
And Matt F even goes on to say he hates hating content for players behind paywalls ....and yet BAM
Yes, so if a hypothetical scenario is that they said the same ""All base game updates would not require a subscription", then the patch notes places Crafting Bags in the DLC section, will we have this confusion?
@Qyrk
Don't concentrate on the patch notes.
It's not a hypothetical scenario it's what actually was said on ESO live.

So basically they said "All base game updates would not require a subscription", then we look back at past patch notes and see that Crafting Bags are 'considered' to be part of the base game updates and written under Base Game.....therefore, it should be a base game feature. Is this interpretation, correct?
@Qyrk
@Qyrk
Don't concentrate on the patch notes.
It's not a hypothetical scenario it's what actually was said on ESO live.
There is and was no confusion. It is as they said which conflicts directly against what they said prior.
The patch notes just align with what they said on ESO live.
I meant hypothetical as in 'they said exactly same thing as the one from ESO Live but in this case actually put the Crafting Bags under DLC section instead of Base Game', not what you interpreted.
Nevertheless, it really seems like you do have a problem that they said something in ESO Live but it doesn't follow the same 'rules' when they put Crafting Bags in the patch notes incorrectly.
@Qyrk
What they said is what's in the patch notes.
It's not misplaced.
What was said prior which was that base game updates would not require ESO plus.
So they said well the crafting bag is available to anyone, but ESO plus restricts use.
They went back of their word, just the same as ESO Plus giving dlc and now calling it a chapter or expansion and saying it won't apply.
"So they said well the crafting bag is available to anyone, but ESO plus restricts use."
Well technically they're right. If you want to pull semantics here, crafting bag IS available to anyone, but to have access to it you have to be an ESO+ member.
@Qyrk
The whole point is it was first said that base game updates would never require a sub.
In Patch Notes: there is Base Patch and DLC Patch. A Crafting Bag is NOT a DLC patch, since it is not content in a sense you and I describe content, but rather a feature of the game.
What's left? The devs decided to put it under Base Patch to make it easier. What's even better? They at least made a note to say that ""Craft Bags - ESO Plus members will now receive access to the Craft Bag"" to be clear. Regardless of what they say about 'Base game updates never require a sub', they made a qualification in this instance.
I think you are too hung up on the word they use, and not open to the qualification they gave when they put Crafting Bags requiring ESO+ under BASE patch notes.
Band Camp statements: To state "But this one time I saw X doing X... so that justifies X" Refers to the Band camp statement.

If something such as the base game "also features" something that's referring to the "base game" and that an aspect of that includes or now has X
It seems you're saying that's not what it means?
It means when they did the update for the base game they included crafting bags for ESO+ members. They were a part of the also.

But that's not what's written and it's even clarified in the intro and later in the notes and placed under base game not under dlc or ESO plus sections.

That's the informal definition.

What do you mean it is not what is written? You even quoted it.
@kargen27

Craft Bags
ESO Plus members will now receive access to the Craft Bag.
- Craft Bags are an additional inventory section which does not count against your inventory limit, is shared across all characters on the account, and can hold an effectively unlimited number of all basic crafting supplies.
- If your membership expires, you will still have access to the resources stored in your Craft Bag, but you will be unable to add any new materials to it.
- Loot that goes to your Craft Bag has a special call out in the Loot History.
- Crafting Materials from your inventory and account bank will automatically go to the Craft Bag upon login.
- Items can be manually retrieved from the Craft Bag in maximum stacks of 200. Retrieved items can also be manually stowed back into the Craft Bag.

@kargen27
@Qyrk
@Qyrk
@Qyrk
@Qyrk
@Qyrk
It's really ESO lives and not the patch notes.
Regardless of where it was mentioned, I quote:I think you are too hung up on the word they use, and not open to the qualification they gave when they put Crafting Bags requiring ESO+ under BASE patch notes.
@Qyrk
It's not a word. Honestly if you didn't watch the ESO lives or read and follow their tweets, you may not understand but just as those who sub were mislead the same applies here

Since the patch notes @Baranthus were wrote as such in PTS and all releases. On all platforms.

O_o
@BlackSparrow
Definition: Informal To criticize (another) harshly, accusatorially, and threateningly:
That's the informal definition.
The literal definition is to bludgeon someone or something. Like with a stick.
Just saying you don't see many subbers taking a maul to the non-subs. Not outside Cyrodiil anyway.
I really thought you were pointing to the term "literally".

Yes, I realize I bought the game and support the game monthly without reading the TOS. It was my choice. I am happy with the game, my choices and have no issues .....
I am not the one complaining and do not feel I have been mislead by ZOS. I am not the one complaining over wording in this post, that post or some video. All I was asking is to link the wording ZOS is bound to in the TOS ......
If it is not in the TOS, all this complaining and finger pointing is for nothing. ZOS has stated their intent for the game, nothing is going to change that. So all the complaining is for nothing and a waste of time. They have a handful of lawyers, they would not have done this if it was not legally okay for them to do so .....
ESO Plus members, while you are a member you have access to the regions, so different dungeons, additional content, you're going to have access to that.

If you want to believe that the terms of service is above reproach and an enforceable contract without any challenge, that's your choice. My point about when one actually receives notice of any terms of service is germane to any determination about its validity. It's not that you chose to not read them, it's that you have the
opportunity to read them before any exchange of money.
Lawyers sign-off on things all the time that merely deter other parties from pursuing claims. Ever sign a liability waiver?...and, of course, that usually happens after the outfit has your money.
Now, I'm not saying go file a small claims or rally up others for a class-action to anyone. But, I am saying that pointing to the terms of service as a end-all-be-all provides nothing to this discussion.
The position of @NewBlacksmurf is NOT rocket science to figure out. ZOS created two player types when the game first went buy-to-play. When a quality of life item was put behind a subscription wall, the group that chose to outright purchase content was left with no means in their pay model they chose to this quality of life item. Mr. @NewBlacksmurf is pointing out that there's a ZOS has a message history surrounding the change from subscription-based to buy-to-play themed behind both payer types having means and/or access. At best, in my opinion, the message is pretty garbled when release of the crafting bag became imminent.
NOW, future content is being placed behind a pay wall. However, everyone will have to pay. Wait, this actually makes what was done with the crafting bag seem worse to me.
I buy the content and subscribe during those times I play with frequency. The crafting bag is great!...because this game purposefully hamstrings inventory by design (not so Elder Scrollsey by the way). Can I live without it? Sure can. Did it before the crafting bag even existed. The reason I side with making the crafting bag available in some fashion to all is not so much a matter of convenience (although it AMAZINGLY is, especially with alts), it's that inventory management leaves 'hassel' and approaches or crosses into 'unfun' over time. Expansion of inventory slots did little to relieve this and the amount of 'keep-worthy' stuff is only growing.
By the way, ZOS CHANGES their intent for the game. There's been numerous directional shifts in the game's short life.

I do see how we were mislead that subs would have access to all new content though I will be pleased if Zos keeps to this new developement timeline since they haven't kept to the previous content developement threasholds they have discussed with us.

I think I was responding more to your thread title inferring that ESO plus members didn't care about others getting crafting bags but now we are tasting the same salt about paying for expansion.
Many of us also thought that crafting bag policy was unfair, but at the same time should get something for our subs which in my case was all new future downloadable content which in Morrowind's case I will be downloading.
Now some will argue that this in an MMO and that is what they do while when other MMO features are asked for in ESO they argue this is not a typical MMO.
Makes for great forum debates I guess.
Now that I know that, despite having spent almost $300 on subscriptions and paying $100 for the game initially, that I have to shell out another $40 for Morrowind, it is kind of disappointing. Since I've bought all the DLCs, basically, now I'm only paying so that I have a crafting bag? Somehow, I'm beginning to question the wisdom of this subscription.
