All MMOs do it with expansions, ESO fans are just too spoiled :P

Judging from your post history it's ironic you are stating this....

Battlegrounds is exactly the reason why gear reset at least for PvP is a must. Otherwise relatively new players (let say those who join Tamriel now) won't have chances at all.

That's how it should be, those who put more time into the game should absolutely demolish new and casual players
You want to invest several months of your life running in circles through dungeons and trials you already completed a hundred times several months ago?
If there is no reasonable priced possibility to convert gear, ESO will face an exodus of endgame players.
Lets see,
How can we increase player power in this game? Increase the CP Cap.
How can we increase build diversity in this game? Introduce New Sets and Class(es)
How can we *** off most of the people who play this game with a system that creates a lot of turmoil and work just get back to status quo? Increase Gear Cap
How can we arbitrarily separate players from each other so they can't play together or against each other? Increase the Gear Cap.
We already know we are getting the first two things, which no one is complaining about and makes for a better game. Why would anyone want the last two which ultimately serve no purpose?
Bigevilpeter wrote: »redspecter23 wrote: »OP, stop promoting a gear cap increase in a game that scales everything to cap. There is no reason to do so other than increase grind. Players get NOTHING out of it at all.
The main reason why a lot of people are complaining endgame is boring is mainly this, everyone just keeps playing with thier old gear and just do the new dungeons a few times or zone quest and then they go back to the way things were before the patch.
Raising gear cap will even make people try new sets and builds and make trading work again and will make newer sets interesting to get even if they are not overall better than the older ones

It has always been like that with MMOs and expansions look at warcraft every 2 years a new exapnsion and everyone literally has to start everything over. This is normal and keeps the game fresh and fun and it has been happenening in ESO also btw with VR levels until they changed it to cp system

You sound like you enjoy millions of hours of grinding the same content in order to get the same gear you already have. Doesn't that sound ridiculous?
Bigevilpeter wrote: »I hated the idea of regrinding everything, but the only way the expansion would feel like a new game is having a fresh start for everyone.
Also they can't keep everything cp160 forever so if they are ever increasing the level of gear an expansion would be the perfect time to do it.
If they added way to upgrade current gear then this would be a little less painful, but I honestly don't care. I want a fresh start.
