    That's nice :)

I would rather see class change being added, though.

    Agreed.

If increasing the slot cap is the "solution" to the problem, I'm going to dread the thought of every new chapter, as it might come with a new class and I might have to reroll a several years old character whose role is better served with that new class. That's just not feasible, and I can hardly put into words how upsetting this is.
I mean, especially with introducing a frost skill line. People have been trying to make frost builds work despite a dedicated skill line, and now all those efforts will have been for naught because I can't use the new skills on my existing character.
It's the exact content-gating you supposedly wanted to get rid off.

    Please give this more thought.

Har har har! Not only do we need to spend $40 bucks on the expansion, but wait...we need to buy 2 more slots! LOLz! This company is definitely redefining how MMOs will make money going forward! It's brilliant actually.

Gone are the days when this type of entertainment was a monthly payment. Now it's a monthly payment plus a bit more...it's doesn't matter to me though as I make $60/hour at my job... but for some they may not be able to afford being nickle-and-dimed.

PREACH brother/sister. I really hope they consider this. Since they have been silent on the issue so far I'm not sure (obviously it could go either way). If they are going to give the option to switch to the Warden class and not others I can see people freaking out, which in turn may ultimately make them not release this option at all (does that make sense!?) it could be tricky conundrum.

At the same time, they love making money so maybe for a hefty price they will just release an open class change. Who knows, time will tell. I just really wish they would give us a swap to warden at least.

Even a limited time offer to change one character to a newly released class would be absolutely fine, and not harmful to the "meta" at all.
The only concerns I've seen is that with purchasable class changes people would always change to a flavor-of-the-month class, and that there shouldn't be max level Wardens just right after it has been added to the game. Both of these could be solved by offering a one-directional class change to a new class a few months (preferably with the next update) after that class has been released for the first time.

I also just want to say, to all those asking for a "class change token"... please just STOP asking for this! It will never happen and is the most ridiculous request ever! No MMO offers class changes and don't bring up FFXI or FFXIV because those had different class mechanics and don't really count as class changes aren't changes but just levelling a secondary or tertiary class to unlock a new job (advanced class) so doesn't compare. Looking at other MMO's, I don't know any that allow class changes so stop asking for this! Oh and to request this so you can change an alt to the Warden is even more ridiculous, why would they allow you to class change to the new class right away if they did ever offer class changes? My god some people are so lazy!

Please see point 1 in my signature block, which I feel is very important for players to consider. How would another player having the option to change their class negatively impact your ESO adventures? I don't see that it would. If you personally enjoy creating a new character from scratch and restarting with a new class, by all means have fun with it. Similarly, if another player has a favorite toon and would much rather change his class to try something new...then let that player have fun doing that. A class change option isn't going to wreck anyone's day, so it would really be cool if people would stop trying to push their outdated "this is the way MMO's have always done it" vision down everyone's throat.

Life is about growth, positive change, and so on. As I hear from others, ESO isn't like other MMO's...and in many ways that's a good thing because it means ESO can unshackle itself from old MMO traditions that make a game less fun and more grindy.

As for your lazy comment...lol...depends on how you look at it. I work hard in real life...when it comes to video games it's all about the fun. Mindless grinding and repeating content to try out a new class isn't fun for me or a lot of other players....I'd rather use real money I've worked hard for in real life to just change my class which also frees up some time on my weekends (assuming I would otherwise spend that time grinding away).

I always expected that if they introduced a new class I'd have to buy character slots in order to play it. Naturally I would prefer to get a couple of extra slots free with the expansion in order to create characters of the new class from the expansion, but I didn't expect that.

IMO, they should have given us one slot with the expansion but made 2 additional available for purchase for a total of 15.

I Feel that for the price for the software/upgrade 1 free character slot should be given out. I'm already a plus subscriber and am paying for new content so the least you all could do is give us 1 free character slot.

If I wasn't already happily married I could kiss you for confirming this so early. :) With that out of the way, is it possible to change it to be 3 instead of 2? That would allow for One Light Armor, One Medium Armor, and One Heavy Armor of each Class. Perhaps wash away some of the salt on these forums by giving a third (15'th actually) slot to ESO+ subscribers?

    In any case, thanks!

How is that fleecing money? You have a base 8 character slots. I doubt you even have those slots maxed and if you do then they probably aren't skilled up. I have 8 slots filled and only 4 are level 50 and only 2 actually have combat ready skillpoints. The majority of players don't even bother with that much.

People will complain about literally anything.

is it only 2 slots from the Crown store? or do we get 1 free slot once we buy the Morrowind expansion so we can try out the Waden class with the option to buy a further 2 more slots later down the line?

If it's only the 2 that just really annoys me as I have 1 of each class in each faction (I lack faction loyalty ok lol) and as you can imagine that throws things off a tad for me lol

If its a "new" chapter that is not purchaseable with crowns, not given to ESO+ users and not a "DLC", and people who buy just Morrowind get 8 character slots and the bank space upgrades to 240...

Then people who upgrade should also get an extra 8 slots *for free* and extra 240 bank space.

So now have to buy the expansion and two extra slots as well to say I'm a bit miffed is a understatement

Maybe they will change their minds about that. If I remember correctly, the GW2 expansion came with an extra character slot too. But only after a community outrage. Then again, I might be wrong as I try to forget the desaster that was HOT in the first place. Only good thing of HOT: it drove me right back in the arms of ESO >:)

I for one just wish they would raise the character limit to 20 or more. I really enjoy creating new alts and of course I would pay the money for it.

Why limit the number of slots you can buy at all?
If some altaholic pays why can he not level all classes with all races and both sexes.
You can only play one character at once after all. the rest takes perhaps on megabyte on an hard drive.

Go cry to Tumbler, we live in a capitalistic society, Free stores and income for doing nothing is unrealistic. ESO isn't a really alt centric game to begin with, if you're looking for that there are many choices available.

I'll have to agree that we live in a capitalistic society. Therefor businesses like ZOS are going to try to understandably do what ever they can get away with. In order to make more profits.

However I totally disagree with you that ESO isn't a alt centric game. Between drastic nerfing and buffing of play styles and then the 4 to 6 month wait sometimes years wait for some to become viable again. While others are buffed to SS-tier over powered or FoTM. Then if you was to add in that actually, the more alts you have the easier options become in ESO. Between Crafting Writs, and pledges. The people like myself who have a bunch of alts are able to make way more gold faster, and are also able to farm for in game set pieces like the shoulders for the Monster Sets much faster. Then say one with no alts. This game is very alt centric which comes a need to want more characters. Tho I'm happy to pay for two me.

Don't worry sub has been cancelled and I will go play something else at end of March , and I know that they have to have a income somewhere I have no issue paying for the expansion , but when I've already payed to have the maxed slots available and then they bring out a new class , the expansion should have two free slots with it

Wait... so you have 12 fully leveled toons and now you are going to unsub over what is equilivant to one trip to Starbucks? Dude you need to sort out your priorities.....

This just makes me shake my head.

    What exactly did you want?

    - No new slots? So you'd have to delete a character or two, but hey at least you wouldn't have to pay any more!
    - Free new slots? And devalue the purchase of every single person who has bought character slots already, and may or may not care about making a new one?
    - No new class? At least you wouldn't have to consider opening you wallet then. Maybe this is the best choice for you.

Sigh. I've never seen more entitled opinions or sheer personal financial incompetence than I have on these forums over the last 24 hours.

    Stunning ain't it.
