Actually, no. It is against the TOS to do that (account sharing).
Besides, even if you could, the account keys are tied to that copy of the game. He would have your old account with your characters. You would have a new account starting from scratch.
In another thread I asked Gina if you could buy the physical collectors edition, apply the expansion key to your existing account, and then have a new account from the CE (because it comes with the base game) that wouldn't have the expansion. She initially said yes, but then retracted that as she misunderstood what I was asking. So it looks like you can apply the expansion key from the physical CE to your existing account, but even though you're paying for the base game in the physical CE you don't get a new copy of the base game if you do that.RoyalPink06 wrote: »drakhan2002_ESO wrote: »He will still need an account and the expansion...but the media should still work assuming it is not scratched/broken/etc.
Ya I was thinking I would just give him my old disc to install from, and then he would just need to set up the account. He played on PTS but missed the part where they allowed the transfer of PC accounts to console.
I just thought I would spare him from having to buy the big fancy package and save him a few $$.
As mentioned above, I guess I have to wait and see how the new keys will be distributed.

OK @ZOS_GinaBruno having read that FAQ it doesn't answer this question:Some of us really want the physical collector's edition but want to apply the code to our existing accounts. Is this possible? If it is, since the physical collector's edition comes with the base game, do we get to have another account?GeraintAmbrosia wrote: »ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »skoomatrait wrote: »Morrowind® Digital Collector's Edition digital store wth?
If you already own ESO, you'll see this error message. You'll want to get the Digital CE upgrade in this case.
But I can buy the physical morrowind collector's edition (with the statue) and add that code to my existing ESO account, yes?
As in:
I already have account Ur-Quan. If I buy the physical collector's edition can I apply the expansion pack to my Ur-Quan account, and then have another new account (call it Ur-Quan_Kzer-Za) that wouldn't have the expansion pack?
Yes, you can do that.
Apologies for needing to backtrack here, I misunderstood the question. To clarify, you will not be able to split Morrowind from the base game.
(I thought you were asking about applying Morrowind from the physical CE to an existing account - sorry for the confusion!)DMuehlhausen wrote: »@ZOS_GinaBruno Any idea when other places other than Amazon will have the Physical CE? Not yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we have an update.

I'm only buying the damn Physical Edition cuz I want that statue lol. Otherwise I would just get the digital upgrade. I'm a consumer wh**e, I guess.
It just seems like a waste to have 2 base game copies.
This game is account-based. Morrowind does not install the base client, it only installs the Expansion. All of this is a non-issue for PC because you do not need a disk to get the client. You can download it for free from the website.
I have no idea how console operates.

Yup, I'll be in the same situation. It would be nice if there was an option for the physical CE that was just an upgrade without including the base game.IrishGirlGamer wrote: »Here's the quote from that thread (expand the previous quotes to see the full interaction):In another thread I asked Gina if you could buy the physical collectors edition, apply the expansion key to your existing account, and then have a new account from the CE (because it comes with the base game) that wouldn't have the expansion. That's actually quite frustrating. Now I have another copy of ESO that I can't use since I want my current characters to be able to play in Morrowind.

If I can somehow plug the colossus' blaster canon on its arm with Greek yogurt, the mechanical beast should overheat causing internal meltdown and explosion destroying it.

If you're on console you don't need a key for the base game, just the disc. If you have a new Base game disc (which Morrowind would be because it doesn't appear to come in upgrade form for physical copies) you can do what you want with the original copy. Unlike PC, it's not tied to an account. There are several people in my household who play, new players just need to set up their own account and have access to the disc.
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to give your spare away. There are plenty of pre-owned copies available in shops, if it wasn't allowed you'd think they couldn't legally sell them.

@lillybit awesome! thanks for this. Had a feeling it was this way, but just wanted to double check cuz I couldn't remember.
