...and it comes with the base game, does that mean I can give my original hard disc copy of base ESO to my brother and then all he has to do is buy the Morrowind upgrade?

(I doubt he wants to play with baby sis anyway, but I just wanna throw it out there for him )

He will still need an account and the expansion...but the media should still work assuming it is not scratched/broken/etc.

It depends how the license keys come inside it.

If it's one key for the base game and one for morrowind then you could theoretically give him the key for the base and use morrowind for yourself.

If it is one key, you'd have to apply it to your existing account and the includes base game key would go to waste

And do not think that I mean a 12" toy is going to harm you. Nope. It will come to life and grow in size to the same scale you saw in the trailer and well..... I hope your house has tall ceilings and you have your Nikes on.

Actually, no. It is against the TOS to do that (account sharing).

Besides, even if you could, the account keys are tied to that copy of the game. He would have your old account with your characters. You would have a new account starting from scratch.

Ya I was thinking I would just give him my old disc to install from, and then he would just need to set up the account. He played on PTS but missed the part where they allowed the transfer of PC accounts to console.

I just thought I would spare him from having to buy the big fancy package and save him a few $$.

As mentioned above, I guess I have to wait and see how the new keys will be distributed.

In another thread I asked Gina if you could buy the physical collectors edition, apply the expansion key to your existing account, and then have a new account from the CE (because it comes with the base game) that wouldn't have the expansion. She initially said yes, but then retracted that as she misunderstood what I was asking. So it looks like you can apply the expansion key from the physical CE to your existing account, but even though you're paying for the base game in the physical CE you don't get a new copy of the base game if you do that.

Only if it's totally seperate discs and keys for the base game and expansion in the box but I doubt it.

If you already own ESO, you'll see this error message. You'll want to get the Digital CE upgrade in this case.

But I can buy the physical morrowind collector's edition (with the statue) and add that code to my existing ESO account, yes?
Some of us really want the physical collector's edition but want to apply the code to our existing accounts. Is this possible? If it is, since the physical collector's edition comes with the base game, do we get to have another account?

    Yes, you can do that.

Apologies for needing to backtrack here, I misunderstood the question. To clarify, you will not be able to split Morrowind from the base game.

(I thought you were asking about applying Morrowind from the physical CE to an existing account - sorry for the confusion!)

@ZOS_GinaBruno Any idea when other places other than Amazon will have the Physical CE? I've checked both Best Buy and Gamestop and they don't even it available yet.

I'm only buying the damn Physical Edition cuz I want that statue lol. Otherwise I would just get the digital upgrade. I'm a consumer [SNIp] I guess.

It just seems like a waste to have 2 base game copies.

IF your brother does want to play the game, this might work (?).

You buy the physical CE. Give those discs to you brother as a gift. You keep the statue. He buys or gives you the money for the digital upgrade that you apply to your account.

I've got the same issue but I will probably buy the physical CE too for the same reasons. I have not decide yet.

This game is account-based. Morrowind does not install the base client, it only installs the Expansion. All of this is a non-issue for PC because you do not need a disk to get the client. You can download it for free from the website.

I have no idea how console operates.

While correct, this does not address the OP's question.

The OP wants to buy the physical edition for the statue which comes with the base game not the digital edition upgrade, which does not..

If you're on console you don't need a key for the base game, just the disc. If you have a new Base game disc (which Morrowind would be because it doesn't appear to come in upgrade form for physical copies) you can do what you want with the original copy. Unlike PC, it's not tied to an account. There are several people in my household who play, new players just need to set up their own account and have access to the disc.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to give your spare away. There are plenty of pre-owned copies available in shops, if it wasn't allowed you'd think they couldn't legally sell them.
