I hate to be that guy but the balance changes that have been done are so small and petty that the "meta" will still be the same as i'v already noticed some still use the same builds on PTS that are used in live.
hardly pulls any interest in me to go back and suffer the same "use what they use or have a lot less fun/impact" i mean can we get some serious changes now or is this it? :(
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

Careful what you ask for, they'll take away Sorc shields and tell you your rotation will be simpler when you don't have to keep casting them.

I was kinda underwhelmed myself, but also kinda relieved, atleast the entire game didnt get rekt up by its roots and we have to relearn everything, that has happened a while back.

considering this was supposed to be the big balance patch..not alot changed heavy will still be meta and proc set stacking will still be on top in pvp.

I knew balance would remain a joke the moment they removed crit from proc sets as a serious fix . Now it's about how to stay interested in PVE for me .

with no new content except pointless housing simulator pve is difficult to stay interested in

give it a bit of time. even very minor things can mix things up and, most importantly, one change can trigger many others. just imagine significantly more magicka builds running around for solo play, shielding themsevles etc. suddenly destro ults become slightly less powerful (going though block doesn't help as much when your enemies primarily rely on shields), spinner 's etc become worse (over-penetration becomes more frequent). However, normal stamina attacks become more useful again (more light targets to take out).

or we'll just see a lot more projectiles because of nerfed HA/procbuilds and suddenly eclipse spamming templars become a thing. the spell is still extremely expensive for its damage but it's quite reliable damage and the reflect component is pretty legit - it's just totally useless today where you face so many meele stamina builds and magicka builds just use EOTS, mobility spells and maybe some AoEs.

or suddenly we see groups of skeletons running alongside some troll kings, mitigation damage and healing through health reg. they wouldn't be vamps, changing SOOO many other things.

or maybe we'll start seeing templar's coordinating their backlash like some gankers syn their snipes now essentially making it impossible to survive without purge.

or it goes in a completely different direction. imho it's hard to tell, but I think even a popular youtube build that gets copied by lots of scrubs can vastly influence the meta. and one thing that changes can trigger a chain reaction

    Serious question.

    Serious question.

    1) As little as 10% sounds like, i can guarantee you, eots will be considerably less OP (probably still OP in grp vs grp fights)
    2) Heavy armor got weaker, hands down. Still not bad, no ideal if, e.g. duellers (sure that's not all that counts) might even change to medium a bit more. imho the resource return was insane in HA
    3) itemization changes: procsets, black rose, etc are CONSIDERABLY weaker
    4) ice staff blocking: this sounds useless but on PTS I found it amazing how long a typical magicka pool lasts. Maybe we'll see a whole new group caster builds, that can always block for an extended period of time (don't think we'll see them blockcast-fighting because of no regen and using main resource) while trying to get a better position and stop blocking again (and maybe go back to shields)
    5) buffed damage from fire/ltgn staff, nerfed dw: maybe we'll see more destro staff play aside form eye of the noob. if this happens, harness magicka becomes very strong again
    5) tweaks to the overperforming hurricane
    6) several attack cannot be dodged anymore. this is a HUGE buff to stamplars and a nerf to shuffe/stamina builds in general, because they're vulnerable to more things now.
    7) buff / debuff changes, horn mechanics, major evasion, etc - tbh I think these will have relatively little effect compared to the other things I mentioned here
    8) mag dk love: better alternatives to repositon, dragon blood is just A LOT better now (and was used before, so even if you still find it not so great, it's a big buff to a skill that was already used)
    9) pet buffs to ruin duels and to drive sorcs crazy when they take their pets into cyrodiil and its wall, keeps and other obstacles for the first time.
    10) some anti-ganker measures (incap, proc sets again, ..) - i think it's too little to really have a difference. poeple will just adapt and run a different flavor, e.g. blobs' stacked up 2h ult build or similar things

I don't even feel like pvp'n anymore. So many people with procs and tanks i just can't. When i queue into pvp i just let the timer run and i am deciding whether i should go or stay in pve because i know if i go ill just have a stressful time getting killed by timmy no thumbs over here hitting me with 5k to 12k damage worth of procs. With the removal of crit now they will hit for 3k with just one proc to 7k damage if they are stacking, oh boy... it will still be aggravating. Honestly idk what the devs are thinking anymore..
