When ESO takes on the mannequin challenge.
But seriously, the performance in Cyrodiil is a joke. You can see how much of the community is plagued with more than acceptable lag on a regular basis if you check out my last forums post, "How Bad Is Your Lag In Cyrodiil?". The majority of players reported that there is too much lag or that PvP is generally unplayable. I am in the latter boat.
It's not uncommon for people to respond with, "just stay away from the large groups and you'll be fine" or "play in a different campaign". That shouldn't be the answer.
The way I see it, the lag in Cyrodiil is more detrimental than the balance issues we all face. Serious lag removes any and all skilled gameplay. If you can't react to an opponent then balance does not matter. In the post mentioned above, a few players stated that they create their builds around the lag. Double baring heals and AOE abilities. Again, not the answer. While some medium to larger groups excel with skillful gameplay, the majority of large groups in Cyrodiil are mindless blobs on the map, spamming AOE damage abilities and the oh so pathetic ability, BOL. Lag actually rewards this gameplay and that is the worst part.
All I want for Christmas is for skillful gameplay to be reintroduced back into Cyrodiil. The two major barriers to this are lag and balance.
