When ESO takes on the mannequin challenge.

But seriously, the performance in Cyrodiil is a joke. You can see how much of the community is plagued with more than acceptable lag on a regular basis if you check out my last forums post, "How Bad Is Your Lag In Cyrodiil?". The majority of players reported that there is too much lag or that PvP is generally unplayable. I am in the latter boat.

It's not uncommon for people to respond with, "just stay away from the large groups and you'll be fine" or "play in a different campaign". That shouldn't be the answer.

The way I see it, the lag in Cyrodiil is more detrimental than the balance issues we all face. Serious lag removes any and all skilled gameplay. If you can't react to an opponent then balance does not matter. In the post mentioned above, a few players stated that they create their builds around the lag. Double baring heals and AOE abilities. Again, not the answer. While some medium to larger groups excel with skillful gameplay, the majority of large groups in Cyrodiil are mindless blobs on the map, spamming AOE damage abilities and the oh so pathetic ability, BOL. Lag actually rewards this gameplay and that is the worst part.

All I want for Christmas is for skillful gameplay to be reintroduced back into Cyrodiil. The two major barriers to this are lag and balance.

This is so funny. This is everyday life on console. So sick and tired of this dusty ass game who can't get their *** together. SONY needs to hit ZOS with a lawsuit. Simple as that. Hit them where it hurts.

    Ok, this is funny.

Feel bad for you console players, but on pc we don't experience this kind of instability, although we can of course relate since not long ago was unplayable.

Hope some day this can be sorted out.

Yeah, console has it pretty bad. I'm sure when the game was initially created the developers had in mind the computation limitations of console. Then they lost sight of what makes a good game and kept piling on crap to market and sell the game better, making the code increasingly more complicated (not to mention the infamous mistake that is the lighting patch).

Pretty much consoles got left in the dust. The problem is that there are no financial incentives for ZOS or Sony to do anything about it. For ZOS, improving performance (and not just cutting campaign player count) would take a lot of time and cost a lot of money. I'm no programmer, but I would imagine that they would have to review all Cyrodiil and Combat related codes and adjust them to simplify the strain on the server. Or they could upgrade their inferior servers, but that costs a lot too. All in all, how would they make money off of that? PvP, with the exception of PvP DLCs, is not a cash flow operation. It's an established system that is accessible just by purchasing the game. Their development focus is on DLC and pointless aesthetic micro transaction content that they can sell. They're a business.

I do too, but I wont hold my breath. Every time ZOS adds something to the game it gets worse. To make more money off of the existing player base they are going to keep adding to the game instead of optimizing it.
