This is meant to gauge more to see if players have upgraded bag or inventory space at all. There was another poll that asked players total bag space but it was hard to gauge if that included alts, bank, and guild bank inventory. This poll should help clear up by making it a yes/no question.

ZOS said that 50% of players never upgraded bank or bag space and that is why there are no storage options with the housing update.

    I am guessing those 50% don't actually play the game. Polling numbers for the active population would be vastly different, if not completely opposite.

    All my 12 characters have 200 bag space. Also, I have 250 bank space and I am the overlord of 2 guild banks with 500 slots each.

    Yeah, this is going to be a very one-sided poll because anyone invested enough in the game to spend time on the forums is highly likely to have played enough to feel the inventory squeeze and upgrade at least once.

    I dont think they ment they didnt include more storage because 50% of players didnt upgrade. More like they think some people complain about lack of space without properly upgrading.

    I my self played for ~1 year before I noticed I havent fully upgraded my inv. Packmaster isnt exactly someone you see or interact with.

    That's probably because they played for a week and then left the game, never to be seen again.

    lol @BigBragg you're totally right... You can tell by the name B)

    And the funny thing is that he's totally relevant to this discussion, because I originally created him specifically to be a storage mule (he was my second character). Of course he quickly became a character that I actually played, and that very quickly led to my severe case of altaholism.

    The more relevant number is the 97% of us who have never upgraded storage all the way to max.

    This means for 97% of players, there is still more storage space we can buy with in-game gold or crowns. I suppose only 3% of players would be the primary prospects for buying that extra space beyond what is available from upgrading bank and backpack.

    Is ZOS's message here that they don't care for their most active, dedicated player base that brings in revenue? I am pretty sure 50% of players haven't done a lot of common things like get to level 10, join a guild, try PvP, etc...

    I also have maxed my bags and bank and even have alts for storage. I even use mail for storage.

    Since I got the 1g horse from the Imperial Edition and another one technically free because I bought it with crowns I got free when the game went b2p I've spent almost all my gold on storage in one form or another. I haven't maxed it out yet but only because I haven't gotten that far but I assume I'll get there eventually.

    I don't know. For a while I was on the forum without even owning the game. I got access for the beta and for some reason it wasn't revoked until I actually posted that I didn't own the game and probably shouldn't be allowed to post.

    (I didn't post much, I was mostly reading and hoping I'd find that the stuff that put me off buying it had been changed.)

    I don't think it is possible to play the game and enjoy it if you never upgrade bag space. This "50 %" figure likely includes players who played the game for less than a week, bots (banned and active), and people who only tried it once during free Steam weekends and never logged in again.

    By which I just mean that you're an outlier. Just like I'm an outlier in that I've got 3 active accounts and 28 characters I play. We're both weirdos in somewhat different ways, and we can't be considered representative of either the player base as a whole, or the smaller forum community.

    50% of players haven't done a lot of things. New players can use forums to learn more about the game. The current results do seem to show that there is a strong correlation between upgrading bag space and forum usage though.

    Now I'm beginning to understand that when I use the Group Finder for a dungeon why much of the time the other random group members never stop and loot items except from a boss.
    Am a whimsical Generation Jones gamer. Online RPGs hooked me since '94 and no sign of stopping soon...

    This poll is more representative of the active player base than from where they got their 50% statistic from. It feels like ZOS is very out of touch with the experiences of the player base.

    The forum population isn't especially representative of the active player base. Having said that, I don't disagree with your statement that I've quoted. The forum population may not be especially representative of the active player base, but I'd agree that it's highly likely to be more representative of the active player base than where ZOS got the 50% statistic from.

    I realize that the forums aren't necessarily representative of the population as a whole, but, yep! 50% completely checks out. 100% believe that stat.

    I guess if you include bots/abandoned accounts you might hit 50%, but that just paints a sad picture about the number of bots/abandoned accounts, not about what player usage of upgrades is.
