WHY IS DRO-MA'THRA MOTIF IN THE CROWN STORE!!??

Ok, so i opened my game and saw a message that said the motif was in the crown store for a limited time. Why would they put that in the store?? The motif should be earned by doing the trial, not because you had IRL money to spare. People worked hard to earn those motifs, and this feels like they are kinda being cheated out of their hard work.

You can farm it on normal with a few people. The motif pages are very cheap.

I don't think it's being cheated out of hard work because of the price point they place the motif at. Seriously though, who have ~$50 when you can get it in game quick and easy. Many will still go through the normal way of obtaining it that's for sure. It's cheap as it is in the player market.

    This ^^^^.

And most ever motif has needed up in the crown store eventually. Let players spend 6k crown for something that costs a little more than 100k gold in game
And can be obtained for free easily.

I also want to point out as pointed out above that every released motif is bound to be in the crown store a few months later. If you didn't know that, you must be new around here.

Are you joking? Most people who have the whole motif for that bought some or all of the pages. I know I bought most of the pages for it from guild stores. That motif has never been a sign of hard work, especially since so many people got tons of pages through running mini-Maws.

Besides, almost every motif in the game has shown up in the crown store, although they typically don't show up until months after they're introduced when people have had plenty of time to try to get them in-game if they were interested in them.

Are you trolling? You have to be... people have farmed NMOL so much it's stupid cheap in guild traders.

Where's your beef with traders? By your logic you have to work hard for things... why work hard when you can be smart?

    Yeah, they're not there... yet...

Actually, I would expect that Yokudan (along with Draugr and Celestial) will most likely eventually end up in the crown store along with all of the others that have ended up there. I have a feeling that Akaviri will remain an exception to the rule, though, as I feel like ZOS introduced it in large part as a way for PVPers to make gold from their AP, so I don't think they'll undermine that by putting it in the crown store. I could be wrong on that, of course.

Youre missing the forest for the trees here.

Its not about the individual motif. Its about where this company is going with price-gouging customers. Especially when the item itself is not of high quality and is a digital item that is not outright owned after the purchase.

op stated motif should not be in the crown store as its to show an accomplishment. its already easy to earn ingame and while I don't like to see zos overcharge for items, 6k is ok in preventing even more people from looking like walking flashlights and 6k is enough to have you take the time to do it ingame instead of doing it the even easier way of using your wallet

Yes it was added, but it's also crazy expensive. I think most players with it will continue to be the ones that bought them in the guild stores.

If it wasn't meant to be in the crown store, it wouldn't be parsed out in game a page at a time.

According to Matt Firor, this game can sustain with only a subscription model.
"Elder Scrolls is about being in a giant world, where you’re exploring, and you go to a dungeon, and you don’t get a paygate in front of you saying you don’t have this dungeon," Firor says. "Which means, to us, you need to monetise it outside of the game."
"The reason why we don’t need F2P is we have a huge IP behind this. We’re not that worried about getting people in the door."
"You go outside the game, you pay your month, you go in the game, and when you’re in the game, you’re in the game," Firor clarifies. "There’s no real world stuff reaching in to grab you." (Few things break immersion quicker than a game telling you that you can spend cash to unlock chests or get special gear.)
The Elder Scrolls games are all about allowing the player to go where they want, be who they want, and do what they want. We feel that putting pay gates between the player and content at any point in game ruins that feeling of freedom, and just having one small monthly fee for 100% access to the game fits the IP and the game much better than a system where you have to pay for features and access as you play. The Elder Scrolls Online was designed and developed to be a premium experience: hundreds of hours of gameplay, tons of depth and features, professional customer support - and a commitment to have ongoing content at regular intervals after launch. This type of experience is best paired with a one-time fee per month, as opposed to many smaller payments that would probably add up to more than $14.99/month any way.
