Vet Trial healer? Help :)

Hello yall

I'm currently levelling an Argonian Templar with the intention to create a good healer for veteran trials. I'm hoping for some advice on what end game sets would be best for this role. I tend to like using x1 crafted set with x1 farmed set. I've heard players talking about the Lich, worm cult and mending but have got a set of Kagrenacs and the healer on another character. Also what are general expectations on utility? Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to help :)

Crafted sets really have no spot in end game trials (besides NMG AND TBS for dps). The fact of the matter is both healers need to wear Spell Power Cure and have to have Infallible Aether and Worm Cult between them. Lich is a no no. You don't need really any recovery in pve content. The highest recovery in the raid is usually me.... and I'm the tank. plus in vSO, there is a mechanic where you need to drain your magicka which is hard with lich. Mending is meh, other sets are better.

    But SPC, IA/Worm are Essential
Master resto is a bonus as well.

Spell power cure and something else. Worm is good. I've used twilight remedy, it's good. If you have a Masters resto staff use it. Don't know if anyone still uses lich or warlock. Infallible Aether is good. Magic cost reduction is far better than regen IMO.

Thanks, would they be best all light or do players tend to use a mix with maybe 1 heavy/medium? Sounds like I better put my farming boots on hah

The ones you farm only come in light. I have an argonian Templar healer also haha. She does well in vet trials. Unfortunately, there's not really any monster set that works good for a healer.

Get used to popping healing springs, luminous shard, combat prayer and mystic orbs.

If someone dies, be the first to blame the other healer. Haha

Haha thank you. What is combat prayer? Its the only one of those I haven't heard of already. It's probs a good thing that there's no good monster sets. That way I can wear x2 5 piece sets with a master resto. I'll need to brave vetMA first though :(

Combat Prayer is one of the morphs of the resto staff skill Blessing of Protection.

I use one piece of the Troll King monster set on my healer (a heavy head) to make use of the Undaunted Mettle passive skill; one item of that set gives 2% extra healing, which is nice, but it means I can only have the SPC effect procc'ing only on one bar since I'm also using a Master resto, and it's a bit tricky to make sure SPC is up all the time.

By the way, you can get the Master resto from veteran mode Dragonstar arena, not vMA (and thank gooodness for that :)).

Aaah thanks pal! Sooo glad I don't have to trudge through maelstrom for it. I'm guessing there's a rare drop rate for it?

You're welcome! :) I'm not sure what the drop rate is, but the good thing with vDSA is that you do it in a group, and the Master weapon rewards are all tradeable between group members, so if you don't get a resto staff but a teammate does, they can hopefully trade it with you :)

Spell Power Cure is a must! Both healers need it, as mentioned, since the buff only works for up to 12 people. This is from White Gold Tower.

Master Restoration Staff for your main bar, Infused is the best trait in my opinion, as you give more stamina and get a bigger max magicka boost.

For off-base, depends on your build. The Maelstrom Restoration Staff can help with magicka regeneration. My healer has an Infused Master Fire Staff for the increased maximum magicka only; a second Infused Restoration Staff is a solid choice too. Not sure about sword sets if you dual wield swords, although Torug's Pact (crafted) isn't a bad option.

For your second five piece, you really want to obtain a couple different options. These sets work for the entire Trials group, so coordinate with the other healer to make sure you are not both wearing the same one, and always keep at least two of them in your inventory:
    - Worm Cult (Vaults of Madness) increases maximum magicka for the group. Definitely a plus in a magicka heavy Trials group.
    - Infallible Aether (all three Craglorn Trials) debuffs enemies you hit with a heavy attack. This one is my personal favorite. Sometimes a DPS will be wearing it instead, though, so good to keep at least three set options minimum if this is one of them.
    - Twilight Remedy (Maw of Lorkhaj) provides healing and increases crit for those using your synergies (orbs, shards, etc) and can also pair well with a tank wearing Alkosh. Some groups love this set, others hate it. Obviously only useful if you run with people who use synergies (aka good groups :p).
    - Sanctuary (Banished Cells) boosts healing received for the entire group. Some groups really benefit from this buff, others don't need it, and with still other groups it's situational.

An end-game trial healer is frankly not going to run crafted sets. They are going to run two different 5 piece sets that benefit your group. If you need to craft a 5-piece is the meantime, Kags is your best bet by a long shot.

Every trial healer should be wearing 5-pieces of Spell Power Cure. This is not up for debate. If you arent wearing SPC, you arent a competitve trial healer, period, end of story. Arguing with this point is proof that you in fact are not in competitive raids.

With that out of the way, make it your mission to get a bunch of pieces of this set. Than, you should carry several complimentary sets, depending on what you are doing. I think in the current meta, the two most obvious sets are Infallible Aether (debuf on enemies) and worm cult (magic cost reduction). For example in our raid, one healer wears 5 SPC/5 Worm, the other wears 5SPC/5Aether. Other sets to consider are Gossomer and Twilight Remedy.

IMO best in slot is spc+twilight+master resto with master destro back bar. Its what i wear on my vmol cleared healer. Healers are kindof like tanks in that youre gonna want a couple different sets for different situations. I wore spc+worm before i got twilight and it was good. I just feel like twilight is a great set. I also keep a spc+IA setup for vdsa.

But no matter what im wearing, the master resto and spc never leaves

Fab info thanks for taking the time to list that out for me. Its exactly what I needed :)
