THIS would be too close to p2w. but maybe an overall increese to it would be nice.

    No. It's not p2w.

actually it would be. just like in swtor, limiting free-to-play members to lvl 50 of 70, and blue quality gear makes that game a pay to win through subbing game.

    "RNG for ESO+ members"

RNG for what ? Item drops ? or procs - sets ? Because if for example you have a set that gives you 8 % to do some extra dmg.. then yes in PvP it could be P2W.

Either way it will be P2 "Progress" (just like crown store experience boost scroll).

    lmao

getting good armor type with good trait easier IF you pay is the very definition of P2W

As much as I hate RNG in this game, I don't think we want to go down the route of ESO+ getting better access to gear.

I mean people scream "PAY TO WIN!!!" the moment anything new hits the Crown Store as it is, this would be a lot more pay to win than those Vampire Bites everyone screamed out.

Well, why would you pay real money for something you can get for like 5k ingame gold or even for free? Its not like vamp and ww bites are super rare these days. A lot of people (myself included) bite for free and it never took me more than 15 min to get free bites for my alts.
Its probably there just for those completely antisocial types who never interact with other players and play this game as solo rpg. And even then, they could just wait for those vamp/ww mobs.

Before they added it to the crown store there would occasionally be people on this forum complaining that it was "impossible" to get someone to bite them and offering to pay real money for it.

I guess ZOS took them up on their word.

It would be interesting to know what percentage of new vamps and werewolves took that option. Logically I assume it's low, but then I did once see someone in Daggerfall telling everyone they'd removed in-game bites and you had to pay for it now. But I also once saw someone in Daggerfall asking how players put "invisible letters" in their character names.

I'm an ESO+ member and i don't want this. Increase my storage, allow me to unlock some dyes and practical or cosmetics but no better loot, we already have more xp, i don't want this sort of things, going to P2W.
And knowing ZOS they're able to give more a 50/50 prosperous/training loot

    who do you win?

If there's no advantage to it, what's the sense in doing the coding and adding it? If you didn't feel like you were "losing", why would you think this was needed?

I believe they have been testing this on steam already. RNG dictates if you actually receive the ESO+ benefits. If you pay for ESO+ you have better RNG at getting the craftbag, than someone who didn't pay for it.

So what happens when ESO+ members get their desired gear and finish all PVE content faster than ZOS can produce new content? What keeps them paying for the service?

Well, then we get faster and smaller gear cap increases, which hurts everybody more than helps them. That CP 160 divines helm and shoulders you received last week is no longer BIS because this week the cap is CP 165. There will always be some way to make your gear obsolete. I'm not so sure I want to see the alternatives.

yeah OPs suggestion is definitely pay to win.

However I wouldn't mind seeing something like only ESO+ can have the ability to change traits and armor styles.

Now before you say that is p2w as well. Non subs could pay ESO+ people make the changes to the items, but only ESO+ could have the ability.

I know a lot of the items people want to change a trait on are BoP, but you could still do a system similiar to WoW where they had the Will not be traded box that allowed crafters to make a change to an item without actually have to have the item in the inventory.

Without cleaning up the loot tables and better balancing traits, providing an improved chance in ZOS' mind would be something like the treasure chest passive in the CP system, so you'd still get mostly crappy combinations, just more purples.

Also while I think the idea is dumb, I don't agree that it would be P2W as improving chance would not be locking power behind a pay wall, though depending on how much of an increase it provided it would certainly lean the game towards P2W.

Now selling CP 180 gear while CP 160 is the best in game would be P2W, as would selling gear with better set bonuses, better traits, selling higher stat potions, food, etc.

IF maximum power in game is reached ONLY by spending real money on items (not content such as expansions), then it is P2W.

Anything else may lean heavily towards P2W, but it won't fully be P2W.

As much as i would want to change traits on items, if that was in crown store or for eso+ that is also pay to win. I could agree with armor style change, since that is purely cosmetic, but not traits. So that would mean i can change my *** training bsw inferno to sharpened for $5? P2W buddy... pls no

Incorrect. Your understanding of P2W is not accurate. P2W = Anything you pay real world money for that gives you advantage over players who are not paying real world money.

Technically Experience+ Scrolls are P2W. It's just that nobody cares about those. You can try to argue against this, but it would really only be a weak semantics argument. Some people like to "muddy" the definition of P2W by saying inane things like "Oh that's not P2W, that's PayForConvenience." Stop kidding yourselves. If real world money allowed you to reach an in-game goal (ie: level cap or grinding) far quicker than someone who hasn't paid real money, you just paid to win. Simple as that.
