I would like if they change the feed animation, it's kind of ridiculous-lazy..... (sorry fans of Legacy of Kain)
It works in this game as it's almost like blood magic, same for the vamp drain spell except you don't consume that blood.
It needs to be something triggered from a few feet away otherwise we wouldn't be able to use the blade of woe close up.
What if they just removed the BoW for Vamps, instead allowing an insta stealth kill as the feeding animation. I'm thinking where the Vamp closes in and bites a chunk out of the persons neck, or if that's too violand something similar to what happens in Vampire: Bloodlines.
I rocked it maxed for months. After respec to StamSorc with OT I dropped vamp skills, only did passives. Honestly the fire damage was obliterating me in certain content. CoA being one of them.
...so you are saying... player vampires should be treated like that, and be unable to pass for mortals at all, and get insta-killed by the city guard on sight? You know, 17th and 18th century style or before?TX12001rwb17_ESO wrote: »And what is a vampire to you? these vampires are clearly based on the real depiction of vampires from the 17th and 18th century where they were thought to be as real as a witch was and well we know what people did witches then don't we, people believed vampires were bloated corpses who did not have fangs nor were effected by sunlight and who would rise from their grave to spread disease and drink the blood of the innocents, they aren't based off of Bram Stokers Fan Fiction.
As a advocate for the classics, I definitely woule prefer a "step closer for a bite" animation rather then the "stream of blood" we have now. Not an insta-kill though... just the usual feeding... UNLESS the vampire is also a dark brother/sister, then I definitely would want both actions to combine into a "Bite of Woe"What if they just removed the BoW for Vamps, instead allowing an insta stealth kill as the feeding animation. Why is everyone becoming vamps now? Is there a new build posted by a famous player that all the sheeple must follow?

I think that would not be much fun.
I think what you describe there is already covered by "bloodfiends", right?
So I am back at the classic 19th century fanfiction, be it by the pen of Stoker or LeFanu...

And fu... uhm... forget thoughts about too much violence. The game is rated 18 last I saw, so it could do well with a bit of blood and guts. Heck, I'd be wanting to push that ratings limits myself, one way or another... but considering posts on the matter I made before, that is hardly a surprice, yes?
I think that when in stage 3 or 4, vampire players should be attacked by the guards. Stage 1 and probably 2 can pass as a sickly pale human. At least that way we would actually feel like playing a monster instead of a pale human (or mer) with a buff skill line.

That's fun to say, but what would be the benefit to offset that downside?
10% extra magicka and stamina regen isn't enough of a benefit to have to juggle stages to avoid guards. That's an inconvenience for the sake of principle.
The only benefit that I could think of is make the guards killable to vamps in that situation as if they were 130k hp strength mobs.
There are more than enough ways to avoid the guards in the game. It should be an actual drawback, since all of the other vampire "drawbacks" can be easily offset.
Though benefits could be given in the form of more active skills for the skill line I guess.
There's just not enough vampire feeling to the whole skill line and that includes the current drawbacks.

He does notice that you're a vampire, but he won't say it unless you ask him questions about his work after the quest is over.
"You think I have noticed your unique affliction? I considered killing you as well. Yet having heard tales of your exploits, I believe you do more good than ill.
Should that change, we may become enemies. Today, however, you may depart in peace."
Edit: I don't know why that image is so small. I wrote it out.
Considering the way the day/night cycle works in ESO, this is a serious no-go. It's day vastly more often than it is night. Moreover, we have no control whatsoever over the day/night cycle. So the bonuses generally need to be situational, more for flavor, and supplementary to what we already have (like the faster crouching from the Night Stalker passive).TheShadowScout wrote: »Eh. I have one vampy alt, but that's it among my dozend characters.
What I really would like to see for ESO vampires is more stuff to make them feel like -vampires- not merely like "players with an additional skill line"...
And one large part of this would be having to hide their vampirism as to not upset all the mortals around them. I mean, take a look at the rivenspire questlines... all the time things like "She is a soulless monster now, quick, kill her in arkays name!" come up from the common people, even though count ravenwatch shows vampires do not neccessarily have to be monsters..
So, how about... any vampire who gets found out goes kill-on-sight by the city guard? And the chance to be found out as vampire and not just a sickly pale human would be dependent on your stage... say, 20% at stage one, 40% at stage 2, 80% at stage 3 and automatic at stage four. And when found out, the guard will come after you, all of the NPCs will refuse to offer you their services and call the guard to your location instead, and so on.
And to balance that, you would get an option to disguise yourself, just like we saw count ravenwatch doing. Either as toggleable skill, or as specially enchanted ring, that disguise would lower your appereance (and with it the detection chance) by ojne level - meaning at stage one, you'd look completely mortal. Of course, the disguise would break if you use any vampire skills - but not at using normal weapon attacks.
And of course, there need to be more feeding options for vampires saddled with the need to masquerade to better control their vampirism stages. Like... alchemically treated flasks that can store a feeding worth of blood "for later" if you feed at full capacity. And possibly the option to feed from willing players (giving them a health debuff that lasts for a while).
And while we're at it, I'd also love to see more of the classics. Now, mirrors are not really an issue, but... running water? How about... half swimming speed for vampires, give them a reason to stay out of the river?
Or nighttime... they already established that daylight does not hurt this vampirism strain, which is all right, since it was the same with ole dracula - but prince vlad lost his vampiric powers during daytime, so it would make sense that the vampire skills be unaccessible as long the sun is in the sky, right?
And one more thing... there ought to be at least one "vampire sanctuary" per alliance, where vamps can let their fangs hang out, so to speak, filled with vampy NPCs, crafting stations and perhaps even a vendor for vamp-only gear (paid in filled blood flasks, perhaps?) - they could easily reuse the locale from the initiation quest for that one, with a few small upgrades, yes?

I think thats a reference to not having a soul
Actually its quite a go, or it could be. Yes, the ESO time is split inn twice as much day then night, at least. But that would only mean that the vamps would have to get more advantage during nigthtime to balance - after all, having advantages ALL the time would mean the disadvantages would have to be proportinally great, and right now they aren't.EldritchPenguin wrote: »Considering the way the day/night cycle works in ESO, this is a serious no-go. I would prefer to see the whole of vampirism like that. Stronger during the night, weaker during the day... and if the night is much shorter in ESO, that just means their nightly advantage can be bigger. But as I said, I just love the classics, and feel somewhat vexed by all those "daywalkers" in ESO...EldritchPenguin wrote: »With that being said, however, I wouldn't be opposed to adding a combination of passives and abilities that would make vampires true creatures of the night. Add a passive that's extremely strong, but only active at night, and adds a small penalty during the day...
I cured vampirism last week after having it since level 23. Best decision I ever made.
Would love to see more lamae bal popping up for future quests or even hircine for werewolves. I mean after you're done with the initiation it just feels like you need more, if that makes any sense. Yeah we burn quicker, we look sick, but only a few npcs have actually acknowledged our condition. Being a vamp or wolf should feel different to being a regular healthy soulless humanoid or hey look its the hero that saved King Casimir blah blah blah the end.
dear vampyres,
I am here to enlighten you. the age of blood drinking is over. Hircine has enlightened us to the glories of bloody meat eating. come and join us. give up the passionless pursuit of blood to drink, join us in the passion for bloody meat. without passion, everything is nothingness, but the passion of the pursuit of meat gives strength unto you. the strength grants us victory over our enemies who foolishly attempt to kill us. with our victories we break free from the chains of mortality forevermore.

I agree with this, but I also feel like the game doesn't explore alternatives enough either. I'd love to be part of an order of Ordinator/Witchhunter/Inquisitor types. I'd love to have been able to join the Iron Wheel, or the Order of the Hour. Its simply a matter of skipping huge swaths of content or not. I simultaneously agree that being a werewolf or vampire falls a bit flat because there really is nothing to it apart from an ugly face.
Mortals are weak and suffer from the disease of having to grow old, you can be a vampire forever and eventually become so powerful you can stick it to the Daedra, such as the case of Lamae Bal, you cant be a werewolf forever as you only live for about 100 years or so and when you die your gonna be trapped in the Hunting Grounds playing fetch like a dog.dear vampyres,
