Assume I'm concerned and reporting with PC NA, the MEGA SERVER.
That's the one that keeps booting people all at the same time and in large numbers, though quite oddly a few people have been booted from their xbox server at same time as well.
Got it, thanks. I don't really remember what server everyone uses. I wish our forum profile included all the servers we play on.
In any case, I have not been booted from PC NA since the start of New Life.

Just curious:
How many times have you had a 14K ping?
I've had many since New Life, and just as many in the 5K to 9K range.
'Many' has been several/night, for days at a time.
And then I'm OK again.
But the last two nights were bad again, for periods of time.
ETA: I mention it because I usually end up looking at a log-in screen.
And then when I try to log back in it tells me that I'm already logged in.

This month, the highest I have seen is 726 ms on January 16.
I have no recorded latency of 14,000 ms or greater in the last year.

The servers have been getting hit, no one is saying you're making stuff up.
The majority of people making threads about the disconnects though, time and time again, have shown they have no clue what they are talking about in regards to networking, how game servers work, DDoS attack effects, etc.
It's fine to make a thread about your connection problems, but the trouble is, MOST of the people pointing fingers at ZOS are the ones making things up simply because they aren't comprehending what is actually happening.
Last time I checked Zeni is the company I give money to every month. Who gives a crap why, just fix it.

Never got a red 999+ in your latency in the last year? Hard not to believe. Regardless if it's 14k, 999+, or not, 726ms is still unplayable.

Thanks for making an example of my claim that people don't know what they are taking about. ZOS has stated it is DDoS. The activity and lag/discos we are seeing is consistent of this. If you had any clue, you'd know the truth behind your just fix it statement.

Yes because ZOS is the first company ever to deal with DDoS attacks from script kiddies. If you had basic common sense you would realize that not being able to protect your own server isn't justification for giving paying customers a crap product.

And if we turned that around, perhaps you would realize that dealing with DDoS attacks isn't as simple as flipping a switch, making a phone call, or writing a GUI interface using Visual Basic to track their IP.

Spare us the lecture. Eso is a AAA 150 million dollar game. they don't get a free pass. This isn't beta and it's not a science experiment. If history is any indication on their competence I'm not impressed. If they didn't have the foresight initially to implement security mechanisms to stop bots and CE what makes you think they had any foresight to implement extra security to mitigate Ddos? Security is not an after thought And we know ZOS waits until there is a problem before taking action. Having an aha moment and waking up to the smell the coffee and Implementing mitigation while your servers are going to crap and losing customers is too late.
Now I get it. Large scale Ddos are hard to mitigate. Even blizzard has had its challenges. I also get that the service provider maybe the issue. However, there are things companies can do to mitigate attacks and I somehow don't believe ZOS is a continual target of a large scale Ddos and certsinly for not as long as their servers have been going to crap. Eventually, they will have to come up with a better security plan. Playing the victim card will only work so long before business dries up and people are out of s job and investors get up set. As evident in that guys post, Customers are already demanding improvements.
Tired of people rushing to the defense of a 100 million dollar company giving them a free pass. There are things they can do to mitigate a Ddos. But because they don't communicate it's hard to believe what's going on and if they are actually seriously pursuing various security options.

Run with a Skelton crew and focus on your bread winner (crown crates) while ignoring any feedback but yet micromanage small things that weren't really an issue. Classic corporate mission statement.

There is no such thing as "Zenimax Studios". People frequently get ZeniMax Online Studios and ZeniMax Media confused, and get really messed up when Bethesda Softworks get tossed into the mix.
Think of it this way:
- Bethesda Softworks has been tasked by ZeniMax Media to make single player Elder Scrolls games, to act as steward of The Elder Scrolls® property, and to act as publisher of titles related to that property.
- ZeniMax Online Studios has been tasked by ZeniMax Media to make an Elder Scrolls massively multiplayer online game.
- Dire Wolf Digital has been hired by ZeniMax Media, likely though Bethesda Softworks, to make an Elder Scrolls online collectible card game.

The term AAA tends to be a self-declared title in this industry. I do not consider ESO to be a AAA game simply due to the fact that they do not treat it like one. Your statement in the first paragraph is why they are not a AAA game, no matter what anyone tells me that is different.
Referring back to the top of my comment, the situation is a lot bigger than ESO and ZOS. I know that people think that ZOS is some little bumpkin studio, but it is not a "100 million Dollar company". It is part of a 2 BILLION Dollar company (estimated). ZOS is backed by all of the financial resources of ZeniMax Media, and ZeniMax Media can spend whatever they feel is prudent to make ESO a successful game, and ZOS a successful company.
I find it unlikely that a company like ZeniMax Media is letting an investment go down the toilet, so I expect that they have a criteria by which they consider this investment concluded, and that criteria is being realized as quickly as possible.
ZeniMax Media did not get to be this big by throwing away money. They act conservatively, and so does ZOS. That means that Firor has a conservative limit to what he can spend, and he seems to run the studio lean, with an emphasis on development first, operations second, and support last.
So, yes, I expect that they are running the megaserver infrastructure lean, meaning that they do not spend money on excess infrastructure. I expect they have a peak capacity that they want to be able to handle that is not a lot higher than a normal average, and whenever reality exceeds that, performance will suffer. A DDoS is going to push that, as will a lot of players in a small area, or even a lot of players just deciding to play at the same time.
As for the current DDoS, that is also a bigger picture, and it is probably being directed more at ZeniMax Media than ESO. I expect that the lean operating model ZOS is running figures that the DDoS will go away, eventually, and that there is no need to take expensive measures to prevent it, and future attacks.
