Can we get some GOOD Imperial housing?

I couldn't help but notice that all of the Imperials houses available in the game are the dark, gray-green eyesores we see in Arenthia and Elinhir, rather than the bright, decorative, luxurious homes we see in Anvil, parts of Cyrodiil, and The Hollow City.

Why is this?

Am I the only one who would rather have this

What do you all think? Would you have at least wanted the option?

I expected pictures of houses for comparison. Not major city building like the bank and fighters guild hall. Just not the pics I expected no disrespect.

I actually think the imperial homes are great values for their size price. And I know they will probably release new homes every update so I'm not sweating current selection. It will expand with time.

I think they are saving it for the Gold Coast when they make DLC houses.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too.

Eventually they'll bring out DLC area houses as well as a bunch of unique places (maybe even homes down a well, through the sewers, or in a crypt or something weird and fun).

I was thinking this too, but the houses I'm talking about aren't even exclusive to the gold cost. They're in parts of Cyrodiil and in The Hollow City. It's just aggrivating that such beautiful, bright houses with actual personality exist and yet we get (what I think) are the boring, colorless, dark houses instead.

They've tried to keep the exterior of houses in keeping with the local buildings, so to get one of those pretty Imperial houses we'd need to have a Gold Coast/Hollow City house.

Seems like a pretty silly excuse to me when the consequence is less options. I mean, I can't be the only one who prefers other imperial homes, right?

Nope I would love an Imperial home from the Gold Coast. The two we are getting are okay but I think the ones from Gold Coast are far superior.

They even messed up the name Domus Phrasticus. Anyone who knows Lingua Latina knows that in Latin it should be "Lanista avium," not "dominus phallicus."

The current Imperial houses can also be found on the Gold Coast and Cyrodiil. The Imperial furniture available on PTS matches the house style you prefer rather than the houses available, so it's likely you will be able to obtain houses in that style at some point.

I believe they're referring to this thread in PTS:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/314042/why-were-colovian-furnishings-removed-now-imperial-homes-have-no-furniture/p1

... which, by the way, adds more evidence to the above speculation that more Gold Coast housing is in the works.

I like the style of these homes too, but where would you put them? It wouldn't make sense lore-wise to put them in any of the base game areas since that type of Imperial architecture isn't found in those zones.

I actually really like the Domus Phrasticus, but would also enjoy a nice estate in the Gold Coast.

How would it not make sense? I see your point but anywhere imperials are in the base game you could put one of these houses. Even if it's a different style they're still imperial houses, and they're not just restricted to the gold coast. Some of the buildings I'm talking about are at the base camps in Cyrodiil, especially in those cities you can't reach behind the walls but can still sort of see.

What doesn't make sense is the uniformity in architecture we've seen so far. That's fine in most cases because of game limitations (Skywatch buildings are identical to Marbruk ones and so forth), but if you already HAVE an alternative style for imperials why not use it?

This is one of the reasons I'll wait to buy my house. I don't own the imperial Edition but I could consider buying it just to have rights to buy a house like that in Anvil, my favorite city in the game so far.

None of the houses in homstead are actual houses. They are all inns, banks, guild halls, castles, etc.

Same here. I have no interest in these bland, drab, grey-green buildings. There's nothing imperial about them at all and I've disliked them since launch. ZOS did a great job with the other imperial buildings. I dare say they have far more personality and appeal than what we saw in Oblivion. Such a shame they're going to waste.

The current Imperial style homes are kind of DLC houses. I belive in the patch notes it says that you need the Imperial Edition to buy any Imperial style house.

Not so. There is a vast difference between western Imperial style (Colovian) and eastern Imperial style (Nibenese). The current Imperial player houses we have are Colovian, because they are all located on the western side of Cyrodiil. For the houses you would like to see, you need to be located on the eastern side of Cyrodiil, where Nibenese houses would be. Anvil is an exception, because Anvil architecture is in the Gold Coast style (a cross between Redguard and Colovian), and instead of creating new assets they just reused Nibenese because it was close enough.

That's not true, particularly for the EP houses. Many of them are converted NPC houses.
