"Are Vamp aesthetics ever going to be optional?"

Well if you play ESO and aesthetics are important to you and you don't like how vampire look, but you want to be a vampire... Erm... no there is now way I know of, other than a disguise or armour completely covering you, or simply not to be a vampire...

And yes I understand this. There is nothing more annoying than "steering" a character that appearance you don't like.

btw. It gave me an idea... what if.. just what if.. there ware some special "costumes" or "alternative looks" for WW and Vamps in crown store ? B)

Prey doesn't get seduced, prey gets stalked.

Not only are vampires butt ugly, but they're also crazy stalkers.

We know, but it's sorta dumb when in game characters are vampires and don't look like them ( e.g. In the main post ).

It would have slightly ruined the questline if we knew from the very start just by looking at him. That's probably the only reason he doesn't look as freakish as the other vamps.

Well my point was that the only reason he was allowed to look normal was for the sake of the story being told to us players.

Making you look normal would be worst for pvp most likely, because people wouldn't be able to know you have the vamp skills or are weak to fire. So you get to look like a vamp, again for the sake of the players.

As I've just completed the Rivenspire questline again... you're wrong. Even in the first meeting Verandis is rather pale, although his eyes look normal. In later meetings he is in stage 2 or 3 with the appropriate visuals applied, i.e. the chalky skin and bloodshot areas around the eyes/cheeks.
It's somewhat hard to see because of his hairstyle, but it's there. And all of his companion vampires like Gwendis and Adusa-daro are apprently unable to hide the vampiric nature. So it's either a spell or potion or if it's an actual ability it is either tied to his age and thus mastery over his nature or a gift from Molag Bal (since he mentions Molag Bal as his creator).

I dont really care as I am not into vampiricism (Team Jacob FTW!) But stage 1 vamp should look like a normal man/mer/argonian/khajiit/helicopter with red eyes.

Edit. Add this effect to Bloody Mara drink

Aren't vampires in fairy tales supposed to be attractive? You don't seduce your prey by looking like a syphillitic meth head.
      Tell that to Nosferatu

ps. You can use disguises to hide the vampiric look, although you also hide all your cosmetic effects purchased from Crown Store and return to your vanilla appearance.

Came here to say this! Vampires should get more attractive as they go further in stage.. to be more likely to seduce prey and draw them in fast and feed. Is it safe to say from an evolutionary stand point this would be more accurate?

There is even a book found in Hildune's Secret refuge of Rivenspire named "I Saw Him Again Tonight."

I saw him again tonight. He was across the stream, but the waters only reflected the moon above us. We walked, with the babbling waters between us, but it was as if we were walking side-by-side.

Why does someone I've only seen and never touched excite me so much? Why do I spend all day longing for nightfall, for another tantalizing glimpse of this pale stranger?

My husband is a plain man, an honest man. Good for putting bread on the table and keeping me warm and comfortable. He doesn't suspect anything of my nocturnal activities. Still, I hate lying to him.

I don't know what to do. Who ever thought I'd find myself in this situation?

This lady has to be thinking some hungry (staged) vampire is attractive. Everyone says player played vampires are hideous with their herpes infected faces. I don't know about anyone else but I don't see anyone being seduced by the way vamps look in game as compared to what is written in that book. Unless the guy hid his face real good.

Oh, okay! Find me a lore book that supports this and I'm game!

Lore book that supports vampires being indistinguishable:

      http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Immortal_Blood

Honestly the argument that vampires have to look ugly is baseless. We live in a world of magic, where not only are there vampires that can hide their appearance when well fed, but even as a fallback illusion is strong.

We can make a cat two different versions of a high elf, a woman a fern, and be entirely invisible- but no way we can make our vampires look mortal. I mean, it's not like some would try to blend in; they love being hunted!

I just did a quest yesterday where my character was turned into a Breton. My character can change race, appearance, and even sex seemingly at will by using simple enchanted items. ES lore supports hiding vampirism, But it also supports hiding pretty much anything you want whenever you want.

The reason against is game mechanics.

The lore supports that illusion magic can do just about anything. You could be an argonian male vampire, in heavy armor with swords. and the lore supports you looking like a bosmer female mortal, in light armor with an axe.

The lore says this is possible.

      But gameplay says otherwise.
