We all know it's not DDoS... how about you fix the lag?

Do you have some proof ZOS lied about a DDoS attack or is this just a hunch you had ?

The lag has been growing for 2 years... a DDoS would take down the servers pretty quickly, not to mention that ALL 3 platforms suffered the exact same issues. All 3 platforms are on different megaservers. It would have to be a well planned attack to take them all out.

And I guess the frame rate freezing on Destruction Staff is a DDoS too? And the blue screens after Wall of Elements - also a DDoS? The freezing of characters after quest pickups... obvious DDoS attack.

Don't let them fool you. We, as a community and customers, just want some truthful answers is all. We love the game they've produced for us, and its that very love for it that means we want to see it taken care of and maintained and not turned into just another MMO cash cow.

Hmmm - I have to disagree. I believe the DDOS explanation for exactly the reason stated above. Not only did all 3 platforms suffer the same issues, but also at the EXACT same moments. You only have to look back at the @TESOnline mentions on Twitter this weekend to see that the incidents happened simultaneously on PC, XBox and PS4 platforms.

In addition, the first thing to go was usually voice chat - Which can indicates that bandwidth to all servers is being crushed. Soak up all available bandwidth with an attack and legitimate packets no longer make it through reliably. Audio traffic needs more pipe, so it's probably the first thing to fail.

Yes, there's often in-game frame-rate drops during high population PVP fights, but I think what happened this weekend was different - it affected PVE players in all zones too.

what happened this past weekend and last night was much different than the performance issues we've seen in the past.

Judging from the fact it takes down all 3 platforms at the same time, that's not a FIX THE LAG (servers) issue, but points right at something like a DDoS is it was directed at the datacenter hosting the services. There were other people complaining of very similar interruptions in other games at the same exact time too.

There's no reason not to believe that was going on when all symptoms point to exactly that.

Why then did ZOS claim the attack only happened on the NA servers? What was causing the issues on the EU servers? Remember that we are talking about 6 megaservers, not just 3 platforms. People often forget that and it seems ZOS forgot it as well. I've asked them to explain this twice now and they haven't replied. That's pretty suspicious to me

I've seen this happen before.. voice chat loss, game lags... I guess when you've invested 2 years of play time into it, you've seen it all before. Oddly, always happens after the game goes on sale or new DLC is introduced...

Maybe I am mistaken but does ZOS not host NA servers at one location and EU servers at another location then gives all of them separate subnets. Now I don't believe a DDoS is the only issue they were having but if you wanted to DDoS them you could hit two locations simultaneously and do the job.

All my guilds and everyone in cyrodiil start talking about the massive spikes at the same time. This has never happened under normal circumstances. It's definitely something different and not average lag

Its been going on for months... but this is the worst we've seen it. Chat issues have been around since the game opened and the servers were under too much strain and couldn't handle it... this is the exact same thing we are now seeing. Even today its horrible.

I play EU PC and I didn't notice anything comparable to what was reported for US during that time.

EU PS4 is normally fine for me, but it has been noticeably sticky and laggy recently as if something had changed or happened. I just don't understand why ZOS won't explain it or clarify what they already said
