What level should I be for a tank in veteran trials? Specifically Hel Ra Citadel.

I feel very comfortable with tanking the normal Hel Ra, but I don't know what level I should be for vet Hel Ra. Any help?

CP 160+ Would be my personal recommendation. Its obviously easier to sustain the more CP you have but it should still be doable with CP 160+

Well, the amount of cp you have isn't the best indicator for your skill. 160cp makes sense as limit as that's the current gear cap, so farming special gear at lower ranks can be seen as a waste of time.
But how do you do in vet dungeons? Do you feel comfortable when you have to tank 3 or even more daedroths at banished cells2 last boss? Can you do icp without dying much? Can you manage your ressources at rom or cos last boss?

Also you should probably ask your guild / the people you want to raid with, what they think. Just because I would take a skilled low cp player with us for a training run, doesn't mean that every guild would do that. Especially if the healers are not too experienced, they might want to have tanks with higher cp for a bit more savety.

meh it depends on how good your support is, if your being guarded (you should if you have to ask) then CP160+ for the gear. If your not being guarded I would highly suggest accepting your role as an off-tank at this point.

As a tank I would recommend cp 300+ for normal (If you´re the only tank. Hel-ra doesn´t need 2 tanks). Below that it´s difficult to sustain. Not saying it´s impossible to to below Cp300, but it is significant harder to do so.

First boss: positioning, second boss: add management, final boss: resource management and block mitigation. Basically the tanking primer, though not necessarily an easy job. Still, you master each step and throw group support on top of it, you have yourself a vet trials tank.

EDIT: For me being rude.

If you plan on tanking vHR you'll need to be 400+ CP with solid CP allocation with hist+ebon / hist + footman / tava's + ebon

With Bloodspawn or Warden monster helm

You don't need (gold), armour or weapons.

The first boss will rip you to pieces under 400 CP and don't you forget the last boss, easily hitting for 27k unblocked and the 4 sweep channel while blocking will hit for approx 25-30k if you're not careful.

The only catch to that statement is that the last boss of VHRC has a tendency to one-shot tanks that are not well-prepared. Most tanks I know have a unique build for this fight. The damage is predictable, but he hits HARD and becomes a test of mitigation. This is different than vAA were you have 4-5 axes beating on you at once and it becomes a test of resource management.

Speaking of the sweeps, I have noticed that while having major evasion active and your dodge procs on his sweeps, you actually dodge all of individual sweeps. Was I just hallucinating or does it indeed count as 1 attack?

I believe it's more like dodge procs for like a sec, rather than per attack, and any incoming attack while you are in dodge should also miss.
