Why is there a quest log cap?

Kind of annoying. I don't want to just drop quests from other zones that I might want to go back and do in order to pick up some one I just stumbled upon...but only being able to have 25 quests is kinda lame. In Skyrim, I am pretty sure everyone had like 100 quests in their quest log at any time lol (at least I did)

One reason may be that a large number of quests active in your log contributed to longer load screens.
    May all beings have happiness
May they be free from suffering
May they find the joy that has never known suffering
May they be free from attachment and hatred

I totally agree. Somewhat related: I also wish there was a tab where we can view our completed quests.

Oh well if thats the reason than I guess that is understandable

    less loading definitely >> convenience

I understand why there's a cap, but the cap is far too low. When the game first launched a cap of 25 quests might have made sense, but there have been so many daily and repeatable quests added to the game since then that it's possible to completely fill your quest log just with dailies, and still not have room for all of them. With the current state of the game a quest log cap of 25 is ridiculously low.

Everyone who agrees with me on this should /feedback it in-game, as that's the only way it will be changed.

I agree it is too low - but there is probably technical reasons for it.

I'm not sure about this because even without any quest to be done liading screens still bad.

Without confirmation from zos, blaming loading screens for the quest limit is pure speculation. I never liked the limit, it really crimped my playstyle. /feedback it is.

And, I suspect, memory. The OS may also be a factor - as well, of course, as other things running in the background and the use of addons in the game. I run a clean system with Windows 7 and no addons and have never had any loading screen problems.

It's called EXPLORATION. You know, that thing players like to do in an open world. But thanks for the insulting and condescending post.

When the available repeatable quests alone could fill your quest log more than 2 times over, the quest log is far too small.

Why would you pick up daily quests from different zones at the same time without finishing them? If there were 20+ active daily quest in one zone I'd get it. I'm not saying there should be a limit on it, but it isn't hard to finish quest.

For instance, why would you pick up your crafting writs, go into Cyrodiil, pick up capture Keep, Scrolls and Resource quests, then go into IC and grab the district quests without finishing them?

So you explore and pick up quest and then just don't do the quest? Yeah, it is an open world, and it can be fun to explore, but unless you have a habit of never doing the actual quest chain you won't fill up your limit.

Why would you ever go into Cyrodiil without picking up each PVP and bounty quest, even if you're intending to go to Imperial City for the district dailies? That's half of your quest log capacity right there. Maybe you'll get a chance to do some of the PVP/bounty quests on the way to Imperial City and maybe you won't, but even if you don't there can be very good reason not to abandon them. Maybe the targets of the quests are ones that you're sure you can easily get after you've completed your time in Imperial City and you don't want to abandon them and take your chances with RNG to see if you get a good target the next time you grab one of the quests.

Heck, maybe you start off in Imperial City wanting to do the district quests, but you keep getting steamrolled in each district, so you temporarily give up on them. But each district quest is partially completed, so you don't want to abandon them when you go out to Cyrodiil and grab all of the PVP & bounty quests before you head out to one of the cities to do the daily quests there, hoping to complete some of the PVP/bounty quests along the way there or after doing the dailies from the city.

For that matter, maybe before you decided to even venture into PVP land it was just before the writs etc flip for the day, and you wanted to do the writs but you knew you didn't have time to actually do them first, so you quickly grabbed them before heading into Cyrodiil/Imperial City, planning to actually do the writs after you're done in PVP zones. By doing it that way, once you're done in Cyrodiil/Imperial City you can do the writs that you picked up just before the flip, and then immediately do the new day's set of writs. And maybe the same goes for the pledges, or whatever other daily quests you didn't have time to complete before the flip, but want to do later before doing the new post-flip ones. Better hope you didn't have any non-repeatable quests in your quest log...

It's really not complicated, and what I describe above is very common behavior (although it's probably not usually to the extent of hitting as many dailies as mentioned above).

Yeah, maybe if you feel the need to complete all of dailies before they flip, I guess. The PvP quests are garbage. Get kill enemy players and that is all you really need. Anyway, I wasn't here to defend the quest limit. I was curious as to why people don't finish quests. I didn't know this was such a serious matter.

If the quest list allowed that many quests, you could have all of these active simultaneously, and that's just the daily & repeatable quests. For many of these it's frankly very inefficient to only pick 1 up at a time (pledges, writs, IC district quests, PVP quests, etc).

Why would you ever go into Cyrodiil without picking up each PVP and bounty quest, even if you're intending to go to Imperial City for the district dailies? That's half of your quest log capacity right there. Maybe you'll get a chance to do some of the PVP/bounty quests on the way to Imperial City and maybe you won't, but even if you don't there can be very good reason not to abandon them. I totally agree. Somewhat related: I also wish there was a tab where we can view our completed quests.
I'm not sure about this because even without any quest to be done liading screens still bad.
Pretty sure this can also be a hard drive issue.

    I agree.

How about quest in PVP zones be considered seperately. A lot of those PVP quests you get send you deep into enemy territory to pick up. But next time you jump unto PVP your team might have pushed into that territory and you can do them. Or which is often the case the opposite. I have a bunch I almost completed only to get found and killed behind enemy lines.

I have a bunch of Craglorn quests I can't complete without a group or I half completed with a group and then I had to leave I don't want to lose progress in them.

Then... I have never been to any of the DC zones and I haven't played a DC character yet i don't want to spoil myself.. I kind of already did when I decided to do the new life quests in random locations... So I have guild quests in stormhaven or glenumbra I haven't done them and wont do them until I have played through the story on a DC character.

I don't mind the limit. Forces me to go back and get stuff done.

I would be OK with crafting writs and repeatables not counting toward the total.
