What's the point of putting Major Expedition on a DK's Chains?

I'm actually honestly asking- I just don't understand the logic behind it.

When you PVE as a tank- the idea is to pull enemies closer so that your group can burn them down. I don't need to run away afterward.

When you PVP as a DD or tank- you can pull enemies toward you- but it's not like you can quickly execute them and run away. Am I supposed to put a DoT on them and sprint away? If I take the other morph- I pull myself closer to an enemy... why would I want to run away from someone I just pulled myself to?

Can anyone enlighten me on how major expedition is useful on chains?

umm... its not about you running away.. its about you being able to run after the person running away from you after you chained them....

Reminds me of grappling hooks in nexuiz.

But... but... talons... and petrify. Ya know? By the time you've CCed them, the major expedition will have worn off.

I used pull kids playing robin hood off the walls. Then after he's dead.. Pull all his friends down too. Literally made the whole siege aspect of PvP enjoyable during that time bc since you, zos, broke this unique and amazing dk utility gap closer into the useless skill it is now.. Literally felt like I lost one of the reasons I played dk. If me and 2 or 3 friends show up to help my team siege a keep, i could make a difference by sneaking and pulling a sniper/oilpot/siege player unexpectedly off the wall and give us some relief/push. Nowadays? I hardly ever participate in siege to that extent unless pushing emp for me or friends. I choose Dragonknight so I can be a tanky/utility type of class. Chains was easily one of my favorite things about, not only dk, but the game altogether. I saw the undodgable thing you'll add to pts in a week or whatever.. Thanks but I doubt it will be used much. Btw I hope you devs know you have people gap close glitching into keeps as they always have.. Just can't believe you did what you did to chains. Like tbh, why can't you just remove elevation limit from unrelenting morph and keep for empowering chains? Would make 100% sense to me that going forward.. You can't chain "cheat" pull.. But I'd still be capable of pulling the one shot kids to their deaths. It's stupid and clearly the mdk community for sure gave up on posting about it ages ago.. I mean it's been since before IC.. We just want heals that work etc..at this point.

Anyways, had to vent on a much forgotten and loved skill. Rapid maneuvers lol.. No comment

It is because in PvP chains are very unreliable when you need them most (e.g. pulling someone out of a good group), and because the Devs know it, they added major expedition so that you can run to the target instead.

Doesn't matter when the ability fails to go off, no expedidition buff.

In PvE, it's because no bosses can ever be pulled and they like to run around a lot usually (yes even when taunted, play a tank, learn to hate the cheap tactics bosses use). Major Expedition gives you a chance to catch up them before they murder whatever random party member they've decided they need to put in the ground.

Just be happy you get something OP, Templars are still waiting for any kind of expedition in their class lines. :p

Also, FYI, this is getting buffed on PTS, I think it is now 8 seconds or something.

Shoooooot... just be happy you have the best execute in the game. Dragon knights are still waiting for any kind of execute in their class lines. ;)
