I'd bet money if I had any to spare, that if OP had posted male characters in gut-busting outfits with maxed out bellies, you would be making jokes and posting your own pics.

You all are absolutely amazing, lol. You do realize the ones that lash out are the truly offended ones? I think the female settings for fat are fine, it's muscle I'm missing. For a lot of races, the difference between a thin and muscular character is only marginal. So I tend to use armor that makes them look more buff on those characters.

But yeah, a lot of Twiggys running around. I always thought these people just couldn't figure out the correct settings and went with the default. But if you guys say they actually like it that way, that must be it.

I wanted my main to be slight because she's a stealthy nightblade, so as a result she weighs about 80 pounds soaking wet. No boobs, no ass, just all slender. She has some muscle, though, and I like to think she doesn't look anorexic, but I guess it helps that she's Argonian and as a result doesn't really have to conform to the standard as much.

Here she is about as revealing as she's gonna get while still wearing something:
    a6DAXco.png

I think the models could use less stick-like arms, though. It's jarring, especially in first person. If I could I'd give her more muscle and make her arms just universally thicker (I forget if you can do this? Idk, she's from beta.).

My Imperial, Bosmer and Khajiit all have significantly more meat on their bones. My Imperial is the tank, and therefore I didn't want to make her a waif.

Honestly if they make their character small across the board it doesn't bother me that much, only the ones with tiny waists yet enormous chests and butts do. But in the end, it's their character and they can do what they want.

Meanwhile my male Khajiit and Argonians are baras and my Altmer probably has trouble lifting up a heavy book. And also probably got shoved into lockers a lot as a kid.

With the kind of distorted beauty standards set by modern society, many people choose to be represented by an ideal that matches that standard. It's more a comment on our perceptions of beauty than an insult or accusation.

Personally, all my characters are tall and muscular, as that is a female standard of beauty that I admire and aspire to. And I don't think it's wrong to admire a slender frame either, as long as you don't belittle people or tell them to 'eat a cheeseburger'.

The phrase "Give that person a cheeseburger." is born more out of concern than contempt. Its proven that thin, skinny, "slender" figures have their own health risks as husky and overweight bodies do. I mean honestly its a natural instinct to feed someone that appears sickly. Really my somewhat poor attempt at humor there stems from an opinion based upon a desire to see healthy representations, and definitely not a desire to belittle peoples preferences on beauty. Perhaps i was hinting at a desire for the character creation to have a broader range to its sliders? Perhaps i just wanted to add my own input to a commentary without necro posting another thread?

Or maybe i really did just want to be a typical forum jerk and belittle peoples preferences like you said.

    being too skinny is unhealthy

    being too fat is unhealthy

drinking to much water can kill you

not drinking enough can kill you

moderation in everything, as someone who was never really fat but never built I spent the last year completely changing my diet because I wanted to, water most of the time, better nutrition (diet is an evil word and consists of fads, if you cannot maintain a diet for your life then don't bother) I am now the oldest I have ever been (obviously) and in the best shape of my life.

I have come to the conclusion that fat people are indeed lazy

I have to eat a decent meal every two and a half hours as standing lean muscle burns more calories all throughout the day and night more then running, and I do that too on occasion and weather permitting (I am crazy and enjoy it)

all it takes is a tiny amount of knowledge on proper nutrition and a wee bit of exercise, I do it all at home with no workout equipment other then a set of dumbbells (I don't like gyms) and I have inspired those around me to change themselves too, then we inspire more, now my extended family is working on their nutrition and consulting me on some easy exercise they can do.

btw don't shame fit girls with large assets, those exist too and its not a shameful figure despite fat people claiming it is.

    on topic.

you can make incredibly fat characters, you can make incredibly skinny characters. people make what they want, done and done. and nobody has any right to say someone's character shape is good or bad other then the person playing the character.

I saw a truly stick like character in the bank in Auridon once.

She was quite tall, but must have had the body mass setting ( the triangle ) set to the absolute thinnest possible, and every body slider looked to have been set to the minumum, apart from the breast slider which looked to be maximum.

It actually looked frightful. I've never seen a character so disproportional, and I hope I never do again.

Edit - I like to see curvaceous characters, I think they look wonderful.

When i first created my mSorc this is exactly how i set her up, why because i had seen the soul shriven skin that was due to come out, and i wanted my character to look truly shriven! and she really did! ;)

Oooh, that was something I had never considered ! ( The character I saw wasn't wearing that skin, just lots of makeup )
I bet she looked terrific and quite authentic. Got any pictures?

Wow... you come into this thread, screeching and moaning, trying to browbeat the OP, and then go and generalise like that. Do you know "most fat people" that exist well enough to go to every one of them and check that they're "just lazy", then ?

    Same goes for you.
You know it's every "fat person that's unhappy" with themselves do you? And that it's never anyone of regular size that could possibly feel the world should change rather than them.

Not for discussion here, but it's amazing the flak people can get for being thin or for liking thin builds (notice I didn't say skinny), whilst those who are overweight are defended by society all because most of us in the West are so used to an unhealthy lifestyle that we wouldn't recognise a healthy weight if it smacked us in the face.

I lost around 3 stone in weight and now sit around 10stone 8, yet everyone feels they can now pass comment on my weight. Before, when I had the usual middle aged spread, no one said anything because it's considered normal. See it all the time on the internet, in real life etc. Can't body shame overweight people, but thin people are fair game. You also get a lot of people hiding behind medical conditions when medical conditions along with medication only account for a very small percentage of people who are over weight. Well, that's the information the medical experts put out, so I'm assuming it's correct.

Another strange thing is people can mock others over their hair colour, having freckles etc (things that can't be helped), yet no one is allowed to pass comment on something that is nothing but a self inflicted appearance.

The obesity problem will always remain unless people stop thinking it's an inappropriate subject. I get talking about weight is delving deep into an individual's insecurities, but like smoking, it's about time society tackles the issues without fear of upsetting people.

Dear lord. Its a game. Make your character however you want. We should all be happy with however we create our characters. I don't care if your character is super skinny or super fat. Go you. I just assume you created your character to look a certain way for a reason. I don't get all uppity about it or feel like I have to tell someone to go eat or to stop eating.

Ok. So, its not really anyone else's place to start criticizing other people for how they look. Doesn't matter if you think someone is too skinny or overweight. Doesn't matter if you think that guy has a stupid haircut. Doesn't matter if you think that lady dresses like a hobo. None of these things are about you and your life. If that person is happy, leave them alone. Just worry about your own life. Because you have flaws too. No one is perfect. And going out of your way to be horrid to someone else because of what is in your head, that's kinda your problem not theirs.

Given all the exercise my Vestige gets running around and fighting things and jumping into water and swimming a lot, and fighting in the war, and all he has eaten in many, many, many months now is Solitude Salmon and Millet soup, it's no wonder he's so thin! ;)

Also, stop with this feminist *** propaganda, it's cancerous. Some shapes are more attractive then others, end of story. and no, i don't think that being extremely thin is healthy or beautiful, so don't even try to pull out this argument.

One post does not make for propaganda. Or even one of these posts every so often. And honestly using the words cancerous and whatever *** was meant to be in reference to feminism shows the need for more of it. :|

    Female Characters, why so thin?
I have a couple of skinny characters. But females and males though.

It is actually a classic... that "orphan waif turned adventurer" backstory thing. Combined with the harsh adventurer lifestyle... what, you think it would be feasing on roasted boar and chilled beer all the time? Lemme tellya, if you're out in the wilds and the local wildlife has all been decimated by the ghosties from a nearby ayleid ruin, those worms are gonna start looking pretty tasty... (even if the texture is more something a Klingon would enjoy...) ;)

Anyways, that is why Leska, Andrea and Kera among my female charactes are skinny.

Of course, I also have a muscular orc girl, and more normal proportioned bosmer, imperial and altmer females...

And on the male side, skinny Kelas, muscular Akar, normal-ish Laas and Alak, even an overweight, balding redguard Al... (he used to be a city guard, before... things happened to land him in coldharbour. Too many alik'r donuts I say!)

    All that being said...

I kinda wish the character generation would allow us a bit... more. Even if it came as crown unlock. I'd pay for making some characters 10% taller then the sliders currently allowed, or smaller, or more muscular, or more padded, other things (I expect some people would pay for more female breast slider option... I recall at least one other game who sold that particular option!)
But the point is, more choice is nifty! So many characters that are difficult to do right now... Orsimer Hulk? Nope. Breton Fat Friar? Not quite. Titanborn nord? Not for players. Et cetera... and as mentioned, I'd buy good crowns for being able to play around with my characters shapes some more...
