Mud Lamprey?

Most guides state that it's a lake fish but I found 2 foul spots in Deshaan and one guide stating that it is caught there? Is it shared between the two or is it one or the other?

Ty for the response but I don't think this is the case anymore (outside of maybe the starter zones, ie. Bleak Rock/Bal Foyen or Stros Ma'Kai/Betnikh). The trophy fish now now state where the fish are found specifically in their description. I was mostly wondering about the water type as most guides I've found don't even show foul water spots in Deshaan.

I'm a Master Angler and can confirm you that Mud Lamprey is a lake fish (I got it there). By the way, I caught thousand of fishes before obtaining the title and never saw the same fish on different types of waters.

Don't know if it pertains to this fish but long ago you could catch rare fish from other locals. Like fish from Greenshade but catch them in Auridon.

The only thing I can say to contradict that is, I remember when you could get Rift fish in Auridon. But, yeah, that was a bug. Some guides might be including bugged location data, so keep that in mind when referencing them, and check around.

If you got the fish eye recipie from the event try using it. Some things that look like foul water is actually fresh water. Rather annoying

I'm using it constantly while acquiring the fishing achievements, there are 2 foul spots in Deshaan. This map shows them in yellow and I confirmed with the potion active as well as fishing them:

I guess they are just there to troll the average angler not using the potions as there are no trophy fish which drop from them.

Glad to read that. I remember that one took me a lot too. You're welcome and good luck on your path to Master Angler. :)
