Does a sharpened inferno BSW staff drop in city of ash 1 normal?

Hey guys,

some friends and me did spend the last 30 hours straight (with 5-6 hours sleep) in city of ashes 1, normal.

2 of us did need sharpened sword, 2 sharpend inferno staff, we did like ~400 runs in that time, didnt see a sharpened DESTRO staff at all, or a single 1 hand sharpened weapon.

Do the really drop in normal mode or did zenimax make it that the most powerful trait only drop in veteran mode? Im not here for crying, but after such a grind u ask yourself some things and some of said "im sure they just made it drop in veteran mode".

So before I continue grinding, maybe any1 of u might now and maybe u can also tell me, how many runs did u need for that sharpened weapon of your choice.

It drops, but I think its about the rarest item in that dungeon.

It does drop,just noto for me. Had a farming session cpl of days ago and it dropped for another team mate. The named staff"of the grove" will always be infused.

So it drops in city of ash 1 normal and there is no difference in drop rate between normal and veteran mode or CoA 1 and 2?

Theoretically yes. Practically there's less than 1/300 chance you get it from final boss: probability shared with 3 other sets, all weapons plus shield (13 items in total), in 8 possible traits, but also jewelry and the named bow the boss sometimes drops, which is from the Sunderflame set. So the probability of getting the staff is more like 1/500. Plus very small chance of getting it from mobs and chests. Running the normal COA1 is better for farming weapons and armor, since it's quick and fully soloable, so if you don't get people to far with you can always go alone. I did it and it takes about 15 minutes without skipping anything. COA2 is longer, harder, and you still need to farm the last boss

They drop. I got an awesome Sharpened Staff... Resto!

All weapons are very hard to come by if there isn't a named one. It is like that everywhere. I believe this is a design decision by ZoS.

I've run both with a friend about 20 times, to farm BSW. Neither of us for an inferno staff, let alone a sharpened one.
It does drop in both as far as know.

I have 3 sharpened restos,a one handed axe,4 bows.it's exactly like the last chest of vma.

I have that set. The staff I have is inferno decisive trait which isn't so great. But have to say I am not too impressed with the set, I prefer clever alchamist。higher damage bonus craft able and longer damage bonus and you control when it is active rather then relying on proc.

They drop in normal. I was farming BSW yesterday with friend, but after I got ton of maces and mauls I gave up...

Have a friend who's been farming for those for ages..

btw, I got a sharpened maul last night - this pic on its tooltip 'looks' like a staff.. Thought all my birthdays had come at once.

It drops, yes. I know 2 people who have that specific weapon as well.

The drop you are after has a very low drop chance. I don't envy the task you've set for yourself.

56 clears of CoA and not one sharpened staff or sword in any trait. I gave up

this! Can not get one of these to drop but almost every time I run DSC I get sharpened staffs of Automotan....which should not even exist. I am convinced their loot tables are lopsided to make sure you drive yourself crazy trying to get a certain drop

Same drops but different quality.

After hundreds of runs I have yet to get a sharp flame staff but I have 3 sharp ice, 2 sharp light, 2 sharp maces and 1 sharp sword (and 3 complete armors in divines

).

I even soloed vet for some time because I thought the magic of vet mode would drop it for sure - same *** but different colour

The unique item drops will differ from CoA and CoA2 - sadly none of them are sharpened anything....

A friend of mine got one his first run last week.

He was only level 40 something. So was the staff.

I think he cried a little.

Hey Jako, I dropped the legs in divines, but when I look at all my sets, the legs are always the tricky one to get ;-). Don't give up!

Finally got 1 after 50 runs, still need a Jerkin, that dress is killing me.. Got a 2nd drop with some guidies, gave it to the guy that has been trying forever over 100 runs I think, made a new friend for sure hehe.

armor is by far the easiest pcs for me to get, seems every wep set pc is the hardest to acquire for any dungeon. this needs to change.

See this is absolute ***.

LA armor farmers have double the loot table with chests it's stupid. I need a divines robe or jerkin but my odds are twice as low as going for say a sunderflame in the same place. Needs addressing. Same for Moondancer...Hateful system.

I have got an infused resto and precise flame destro that is it. Ran it over 100 times but I have everything else in infused inpen and divine including inpen shield.

Omg. Don't even start.....

I've farmed vMoL and nMoL a ridiculous amount of times now. I have only looted two Sharpened Moondancer Staves.

Both were Restos -_-

I agree.

Especially if you have a couple nightblades, I got all my BSW jewelry in a couple hours the other day, saw a lot of weapons but no sharps.

I figure it's about 20 chests an hour just cloaking through the first area.

I have got both a sharp inferno and a sharp 1h mace in COA1. Staff came from chest and mace from last boss. Pairs nicely with a lich shield.
