Solo a public dungeon

I soloed my first public dungeon yesterday with a stamina nightblade and it was a frigging rush... every fight was exciting, and I never felt like I had the upper hand. I won more than one fight with a sliver of health and no stamina left at all. Just me and the last enemy, tired and slapping each other with our swords until the last one fell...
I was alone up until about 2/3 of the way through lower level where Graccus is, and I'm glad some people showed up to help me with him, lol.
I know, there's probably tons of more experienced players who do this all day, but for a casual player like me, it was fun.

Now try to solo vMoL HM. I am sure you can do it in a few days. Maybe start practising with vMA.

lmao, going from public dungeon to vMoL HM...

If you enjoy soloing content, then normal 4 man dungeons is probably next on your list, with vet 4 man dungeons after.

If you are casual, then be proud of your achievement, but don't expect other's to think its that great :D

No, I didn't expect anyone to be impressed, I was just remarking how fun it was, and that anyone who hasn't tried it because they think they need a group or something, ought to give it a try.

Soloing group content is fun. My favorite was soloing one of the four-people Craglorn quests, up until the instanced area, where I got a group request from the Stamplar who had been following me to grab the quest objectives after I killed everything blocking them.

We wiped a bunch on the two-boss fight until the Stamplar managed to grab the attention of the Nightblade Agony one and kite him around the room so I could take out the guy with the one-shot mechanic without using all my stamina on breaking free.
Final boss was tricky until I sorted out the tell for his one-shot and could consistently interrupt it in time.

It's a heck of a thrill, doing things with less people than intended, and relying on your ingenuity and knowledge of your character to sort out the rest. .

One of our dps decided to solo vMoL, see how far he could get. Discovered he could consistently get the first boss to 92% and decided that was impressive enough. One of these days he will run Maelstrom. :D

Okay, here's my opportunity to ask a noobalicious question without creating a whole discussion.

I soloed Crypt of Hearts yesterday in an attempt to get some gear. I have soloed a dungeon before, just to see if I could do it. This time, however, I tried to go back into the dungeon after completing it in an attempt to keep farming. When I went back in, the dungeon had not "reset". I tried leaving the area/zone - no help. I logged of and then back on - no help.

So, my question is, what do I need to do to "reset" a dungeon after I have gone through it (solo)?

    Thx.

I remember when public dungeons were scary. I'd try to find a group and hope they didn't leave. If I was alone in a room, I was too nervous to move. Then they got easier over time, now I try to go when they are relatively empty and time myself on how fast I can clear it. The same thrill came the first time I cleared a four person dungeon after the scaling up for 1T. Now it's Vet group dungeons. Some of these places have mechanics that make solo impossible, but the thrill is there for the ones you can. It gives a real sense of achievement when you can complete something that you couldn't before.

Switch it from veteran to normal, and then back. Or the other way around if farming normal.

I remember my first Public Dungeon, Razak's Wheel. I didn't even know what a Public Dungeon was at the time, I went in expecting it to be just another side quest location (cause there was a quest giver attached to it), and immediately asked "WHY ARE THERE SO MANY ENEMIES AGGHHBLEH!?" Suffice it to say, I faced a new level of difficulty that day. Being new to the game was so much fun in a "I hate everything" sort of way...

Anyway, if you're interested in continuing to Solo more group content, might I suggest trying Fungal Grotto I (NOT 2). Fungal Grotto I on Normal difficulty is in my perspective the easiest Group Dungeon in the game, even so once you've complete it you'll feel like a God among Men, for about a minute anyway.

Done a bunch of normal 4 man dungeons by myself and recently upgraded to normal DLC 4 mans (second boss in RoM insta fried me haha) and veteran non-dlc 4 man dungeons.

Got to the last boss in Vet Fungal yesterday. Unfortunately after a few wipes I had to call in the cavalry.

Side Note: the fact that people can even consider doing Vet 4 man dungeons alone is reason enough for a massive set of nerfs.

People always show up after you have a boss down 2/3 , lmao! You can wait an hour when a World Boss is at full health and nobody is around but if you get it down to less than half health suddenly all kinds of people show up.

I see some people suggesting other content to solo like 4 man Dungeons and VMA. I personally find the jump from Public Dungeon Bosses to 4- man Dungeons pretty Steep. Also World Bosses very, but some can be almost impossible except for the best players (like if the boss has 2 healers FTW).

I'd also suggest trying out different Toons and explore different builds. For example, I have a Stam Sorc that does really good in normal 4-man dungeons solo, but isn't tanky enough to solo World Bosses. But for some reason my Mag Sorc IS able to Solo World Bosses (some). Then I'm also leveling a Tank that can handle any World Boss comfortably (just takes a long time) - but just doesn't have the DPS by himself to kill off Mobs quickly enough in 4-man Dungeons.

So yeah, try all the Public Dungeons. Get the Achievements and the Skill Points and experiment with different builds and rotations. Also try going for speed by using potions to boost your stats. Doing this will prep you for the harder stuff like VMA where you gotta kill stuff quick.

Imperial City is also an interesting place - you have to worry about being ganked any second so you have to be aware of your surroundings and conserve your resources while you take on a Boss, lol.

Did you complete or turn in all Quests associated with it? Look in your Quest journal in the Zone the Dungeon is in (I cant remember where COA is) and make sure you don't still have a quest open for COA.

Contrary to what has been said, leaving and changing difficulty won't reset the instance if you do it solo. To reset it quickly you need to group & ungroup with someone else once you've left the dungeon.

I've been farming normal CoH I about 10 times a day for the last week in an attempt to get a full set of impen lich and a lich resto. You just need to leave for exactly 5 mins and the dungeon will reset, better to make it 6 mins though; it's annoying to port in and see the blue portal.

Nice! My stamblade gets chewed up when soloing anything tough, so I know how impressive a feat that can be. :)

The only build I have who can really consistantly solo public dungeons is my pet sorc, and that really just feels like cheesing it. :D
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

Instanced dungeons are great to solo.

Working my way through the normal versions atm (5 to go), then onto vet and DLC instances.

The downside is that other non-instanced content (bar world bosses) becomes...slightly less challenging.

I am sorry but people won't think it is so impressive. I honestly prefer to be alone on a public dungeon, as every CP player seems to be shooting everything everywhere, single-killing a considerable group of mobs with one shot. That is at least my experience in public dungeons.

It is nice you are having fun, though. It actually reminds me of the first time I killed a world (overland) boss by myself, it was such a joy. It is ALL about the fun! =)
