Are you a prepper? Here's my tips for Homestead to give yourself the best chance to craft your own furniture, including ways to farm style mats, how to set yourself up to collect furniture specific mats after launch, and what to do in prep for launch day. All these tips will work just as well for console (and you'll have a few more weeks to prepare).

I would add that you can also buy the crafting stones for the base races plus Imperial at any Carpenter, Clothier, or Blacksmith for 15g each.

Unless they have removed that in the PTS? (I hope not!)
Why be normal when you can be better?

You can! But it gets expensive, especially if you need to buy hundreds of them (on top of the other gold costs). Also, if you're not planning on building your own furniture, it's a possible nice little money making enterprise; just undercut the NPC traders by 1G and sell them in the Guild stores (just don't trash them anymore ^_^ )

You can morph any non-set gear that drops to Imperial style. So if you are say for example farming dolmens and you get a bunch of green and blue trash (*not set pieces* things like random ice staff or random dagger of flame)you can right click- convert to imperial on those and then deconstruct like you suggested.

IK! I found that out after the vid (haven't been in a starting guild in a LONG time...)

Yep! That's right! But (weirdly) there are some set pieces that DO convert. The Cyrodiil's Somethings sets also seem to convert to Imperial. (I guess that make sense).

Also, if you don't have the Imperial edition, but do have the Dark Brotherhood DLC, there is a great delve that's full of Imperials (the one right near the middle of the map; not in game atm, the name escapes me).

    Great Vid, @Icy!

Good point about requiring DLC for some of the master writs. In your example, Orzoga's Blood Price Pie is needed for the Master Provisioning Writ ... which is gated behind the Orsinium DLC.

Not sure if that's intended by ZOS?

Indeed! Now, you can certainly buy the recipes from the crown store if you don't have the DLC, but I'm just imagining the price... It's possible that you can just buy the completed food, rather than make it yourself (as I don't think provisioning items say who created them, unlike enchanting for example) but that's STILL not cheap.

Yes, that's right. If you don't have the Imperial edition, try killing groups of NPC soldiers in Cyrodiil overland (or in Cyrodiil delves) or delves in the Gold Coast (if you have that DLC). There are probably other Imperial infested delves in other parts of Tamriel but they're not springing to mind right now...

Quick question, maybe off topic but, when you place a pet is it just a breathing statue or does it have a small "roam" path?

    Sorry wrong topic

With that one you can always buy the recipe if you don't have the DLC of course. I got a master writ on PTS that required me to make a set whose crafting station is in Imperial City though. If you don't have the DLC you simply can't do that writ. Although of course you could sell the writ...

Hmmm, I wonder if that is "working as intended"? Did you put in a /bug report?

Nice video. Regarding the part about what happens to the guild bank if players leave the guild, I'm in a guild where everyone else left, including the leader, which made the guild mine by default. I must smell or something. Well it works out for me because they were in such a hurry to escape my foul stench, that they left a bunch of stuff behind in the guild bank. That happened while I was taking a month break from the game. I just came back after a month and I was the leader of the guild. Anyway, I can take stuff out of the bank, but I can't put stuff in. Apparently it functions like the crafting bag. You're "subbed" as long as you have enough members.

FYI, I am quite able to change non-crafted (looted) items into Imperial style and deconstruct it for nikel. I just spent 1/2 hour in the Imperial City districts trying to get some nikel and nothing dropped for me, but when I went back to deconstruct/sell stuff I notice I could do this.

I started with 57 nikel and had 67 nikel by the end. Very sure this was not crafted as there is no way I was crafting white useless junk for no reason, lol.

If you have the imperial edition (as I do) this will definitely work.

@Icy Also, hording Survey's until after the update won't get you any of the new crafting materials either. The survey nodes will not drop any of the new materials.

They just updated the Alchemy ones with the most recent 2.7.4, because they were still dropping the Alchemical Resin, which was an error apparently.
