I enjoy pvp, so I run around in open world Cyrodiil between keeps and such looking for players.

I move around in stealthed and do jump people people. This is called a gank. I don't only kill people by ganking but if it's something that will get me an upper hand in a fight then why not.

I don't stack proc sets. I run 5 Essence Thief (Technically a proc set but... Shut up), 5 Alchemist and Velidreth currently and enjoy how my build plays.

Sometimes if I jump someone they'll send me a message. Telling me something like 'You can only kill me by ganking, fight fair and I'd reck you. ' or '***. Stop ganking you ruin this game.'

Usually something that makes it seem like I've insulted their family.

Yes, I know it can be annoying to get ganked in pvp, but that is no reason to treat the player like they someone who had just killed a member of your family.

I'm sorry that I ganked you, I know it's not a fair fight but I'm not a piece of **** person in real life, I like to think I'm actually rather nice really. So I'm just asking for people to relax their opinions a bit as I know it's easy to think 'f****** cancer player kys'.

Not really sure why I wrote this but... I did.

but you did just say Essence Thief is a proc set..therefore you do stack them, as more than one constitutes stacking

    logic is as logic does

besides, Essence Thief is so awkward it needs a redesign so you don't go chasing your tail to get in that rune

I've gotten plenty of hate msgs on my very new gankblade with out running a single damage proc set active at all (she has veli head on but kena shoulders)

Sometimes I just ignore the message
Sometimes I wait for them to inevitably run back to where there were trying to go by taking a slightly different but not different enough route, and do it again.

Sometimes I fail the gank and get made fun of

It's all just little people who can't handle it.

All anyone who doesn't gank sees is the split second of damage and then the death recap screen, but what they don't realize is the time and skill required to plan your attack, get just the perfect positioning, waiting for the right conditions (no other enemies in sight, or occupied in a way you are likely to not be seen), etc.

On Sunday morning I spent 45 minutes at one point in Cyrodiil hunting, waiting, planning the perfect strike. 45 minutes for one kill. It was a fun stalk.

People will always cry and whine OP. I have been getting whispers like that since I was one shot combo people back when nb were bottom of totem pole.

I get whispers from people I fight without ganking saying i need to learn to not use macros which I take as a compliment to my AC skills haha.

bottom line is people hate dieing and will find any reason to blame the person killing them and no looking in the mirror o figure out what they did wrong or what route o avoid etc

Gank away my friend. I've been ganked a thousand times. Usually I just yell a few swear words (not at you, more into the air in panic) and try to fight. Worst I'm gonna do is throw a bucket of water you should you fail.

If you win. No big deal. I just res and ride.

Don't let it bother you. The people who send messages like those are the same ones who think a duel is somehow the same as overland Cyrodiil.

Can I recommend you run 1 Kra'agh instead of either kena or veli? It'll likely give you more damage

Seriously though. Sad they nerfed prox det. Otherwise I would probably be playing my magika nb now and 1 hitting single players and blowing up groups with vicious death.

On the occasion that finds me ganking on my NB, the hate messages are usually tempered by the nice well mannered people who message. Saying things like, "I knew I shouldn't have rode there" or "caught me drinking coffee on auto-run" etc.

There are those times too that I pick the wrong target and look like a bug splattered on a truck's windshield...

I've thought about trying this. I've got a bunch of kragh hats hanging out, and my kena shoulder is going to be swapped out for morag tong 5pc with jewelry and weapons, in addition to the 5piece I already have on body. I am still building the character as it's only recently level 50

I am one of the ganker haters, mainly because I am a weakling and am not good enough to fight back.

I understand the gank can be a valid battle tactic, maybe to stop support from reaching an objective your alliance is trying to take. The times I dislike it is if I am travelling somewhere, maybe for a quest, a treasure map, or a skyshard, and I get ganked because it it easy AP.

To mythically quote an old Australian 'ganker': "Such is life".

The most annoying class usually gets the most hate.

Even when I'm not ganking on my main or my sap tank, there's usually at least 1 player who feels the need to grief.

Just don't let it get to you. If you've beaten him, it means you were the better player. And if he griefs, you're also the better person ;)

I wouldnt go so far as to say a ganker is a better player. With the viper/veli proc combo its pretty easy to pull a successful gank off. If gankers were better players they wouldn't fall over like a house of cards when they can't pull the gank off. Glass canons or not.

Killing someone from stealth makes them a good ganker but not necessarily a better player. Its a one dimensional skill set. Kill unexpecting people and run like a coward if it fails. Open battle is the true test of skill. Resource management, cc management, play and counter play are marks of a skilled player. Not who can hit 2 buttons and kill an unknowing victim.

Like you said: ganking is it's own skill (picking out the right target, catching him off guard, kill, retreat without dying) but so is reacting to the gank. A good player would know what to do and how to react if someone attacks him from stealth, or even prepare his gear/skills for such events. Ganking is it's own test of skill as well: reaction time and proper response from both players in an unannounced and fast-paced battle

Simply put: if the ganker succeeds, then it means he's outplayed and outsmarted his victim. He's still the better player then

I stack proc sets on my nightblade and I don't care. Go ahead and call me a piece of crap player/cancer build/whatever. I have other characters to stand toe to toe with other people. But I made my stam nightblade purely for open world gank bursting. I'm running Velidreth, viper, and night mothers gaze..

Haha have we been playing the same game???

    Resource managment??? What resource managment?

CC management??? You mean unbreakable cc, or perhaps the broken double stun, or maybe you mean the lack of soft cc cool down.

Counterplay? What is the counter play to eye of the storm or proc on proc on proc? What is the counter play for these troll builds that don't fall to 20 people hammering away? Counterclaim to soul assualt?

Ya sorry but as the game currently stands, open world is about hitting 2 buttons and waiting for procs or eye of storm to be up. Doesn't really take skill.

In fact, a true ganker running around truly solo ganking groups is quite skillful. What is not skillful about ganking is 6 people waiting in stealth to gank one or two guys.

Who said anything about Eye of the storm?

I run solo, avoid zergs and try to engage stragglers. Much like a ganker, only difference is I run a bruiser build. I can kill quickly but if I run into another tank build then the real battle begins. I had a 5 minute at least battle with a Dk stam tank last night. It was epic and the kind of gameplay I love.

Resource management is key if the fight lasts longer than 5 secondsl lol. So is knowing when to take a hit and when to let a cc run its course instead of breaking right away. There is still skilled fights in this game. You just have to find them.
