OK, so I just spent some time on the PTS gathering data. The data I've gathered is given below but I would be interested in seeing if anyone gets different results running around the regions. This was all in Craglorn.
Of the 20 ore nodes I picked I got Regulus 7 times. Of the 24 Wood Nodes I hit I got heartwood 5 times. Of the 23 Cloth Nodes I picked I got Bast 8 times. Of the 22 Animal Nodes I attacked I got Pelts three times. Ignoring the animals the combined 67 ore/wood/cloth nodes gnereated furniture mats 20 times so I think it is possible to say that the furniture mat drop rate for those nodes is 1 in 3. The Animals, as usual, are a disappointment when it comes to mat drop rates.

Woolenthreads✭✭✭✭I took a closer look at furniture mat requirements and noted that the construction requirements included "Mundus Runes", "Alchemical Resin" and "Decorative Wax". Subsequent looking helped me determine that Mundus Runes dropped from Rune Nodes and Alchemical Resin dropped from Alchemy Nodes as expected but I haven't found anything dropping Decorative Wax yet.
