I have watched the streamers for this game, some of them they try to push their own agenda and beliefs on people, shame they get followers and more people don't think for themselves, I think most of the streamers have hurt this game more than helped.

There are some steamers from other games that I enjoy watching because they are fun to watch and entertaining, not salty or trying to tell people how to play or telling us how bad other factions suck and what ever.

To be honest, I dont understand why streamers/youtubers are such a big deal.
I mean, I understand that its fun to watch their vids/streams and they're promoting games, but theyre not gods, theyre just players.

I don't care if you get paid to play, or stream, or whatever. I'm going to play the way I want to play. Yeah I may need to switch some attributes, gear, and skills around to be proficient for my group, but other than that, it's all me. Don't ever let one person dictate you're gaming adventures.

I've never understood why people sit around and watch someone else, who isn't even in their home, play a video game. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

But yeah I just really regret being so close minded and only listening to what these streamers had to say. This game is truly amazing and I can't wait to truly get started.

Streamers in any MMO are usually the hard-core "min-max" type players, and as such are usually heavily focused on competitive PvP. As such, the mainstream streamers are usually the extreme fringe of actual players. So someone should never regard their experience as "typical" in any way, shape, or form.

There are a few PvE focused streamers and podcasts, though. The Quest Gaming Network has "Elder Scrolls Off the Record," "Dancing with Daggers," and some streams. The Dungeon Crawler Network has "Tales of Tamriel." And "Alith-Cast" is an EU-focused PvE podcast. All of these are a lot more focused on PvE and casual players than any of the more popular streamers.

I love how you think you are making an objective comparison and are therefore able to decide for others which is the better storyline. There have been tons of threads on the subject and every single one of them has proven that taste is personal. Personally I found the EP story to be boring as hell. Worst of the three. Plus I found them to have the weakest characters overall. None of them really lingered with me, except maybe that one assassin girl in Deshaan and the factions leaders.

People look for different things in a story and its characters. There is no objective "best faction". Period. Stop trying to act like some authority on the subject.

Personally OP, you shouldn't let a few streamers perception of a game dictate how you play.

If you want to play any race within any alliance, you just should.

Since the alliances within ESO don't really mean much except for your Alliance story line quests, there really is no reason to limit yourself to one particular story or experience.

TES has always been a game about playing the game the way you want to play it. I realize that ESO is a MMO and that there are optimal setups for certain builds for Characters but, sometimes you just don't need to Min/Max.

Figure out a Character build that works for you and your style of play and go with it. You can always respec later if you completely mess up your build or find that you need to try something else different.
"What is your purpose here, Arisen? If you sought to live you had naught but run and hide yourself away. But then, tell me, child of man... what does it mean to live in truth? To wage war against the passing days? To pray to the unseen for a few breaths more? To raise grand cities from stone, and spawn new life in turn? Mankind has done this, yes, and more. But is the tapestry you weave truly of your own design?"

Shows my age but apparently like others on here just don't get the appeal of watching someone else play.

Even when just playing solo rpgs, if got stuck always prefer a text description for help rather than a video.

But above all this is a game. To be played for fun. Your fun. So play how you like and enjoy. (And before some 'serious' dungeoneers/pvpers come and tell me different...... nah, it's still just a game. And not something that should be taken so seriously that people end up playing a way they dislike because of a few youtubers.)

But then I am a filthy casual who does as they please... >:)

Streamers are strictly for amusement IMO. They have strong opinion on certain matters but it's just that, another opinion. Noone has absolute truth.

With 1T you can do AD and EP quests just fine with no restriction at all on your DC characters.

So when I first got this game I liked to watch some YTers and streamers. These streamers were pvp only streamers. I assumed these guys knew what they were talking about since they were so good at this game in pvp. Well these streamers would say stuff like PvE sucks. I'm pvp only. I will never play pve. also things like AD and EP and zergs. Don't join them they suck. Us DC are for true PvPers. So I went into this game with a mindset of 1. Never PvE and 2. Don't join AD and EP. So I just now have discoevred what this game has to offer. ( I've seen videos and read about it). I just reached level 50 and this game is amazing!!! I mean there's so much to do. I can't wait to do a dungeon for the first time or do MSA. I mean I've just know been opened up to this. I've had a game for a year and all I've done is sit in black water blade and pvp. ( i wasn't any good so I took a long brake and just got back into) also l, all my characters are on DC. I have never seen anything more than the DC places. I would like to make a AD or EP charc but I would hate to delete my charc. But yeah I just really regret being so close minded and only listening to what these streamers had to say. This game is truly amazing and I can't wait to truly get started.

you do realize you can travel to any zone regardless of alliance in pve? been that way since day 1 of the game.

I'm coming from competetive games like CS and Poker, so for me ESO PvP is a true joke. The games I played are really hardcore, they can make you feel the most happy person in the world and on the opposite they may devastate you. ESO PvP? LOOOOOOOOOL. Its simply lame and I feel sorry for any player who enjoys it and thinks its a cool competetive game.

    There basics for PvP, like:

    1) You need to see who killed you and who you killed.

    2) You must have equal chances (cp100 against cp561?)

    3) You must be able to communicate. To laugh at him, to frustrate him. Or for him to do the same, to make you feel miserable.

and so on... nothing of this could be found in ESO PvP.

The developers themselves don't focus the game on PvP. They focus on PvE. It becomes best MMO because of its PvE, not PvP.

So if you are serious about competition come to serious games. Don't play minority games and feel cool. Like one guy who was having hard time in vWGT told "I'm number 12 in PvP in all leaderboards". Gave me a good laugh. Become number 12 in poker and you will be rich, you will be true fkn shark of this life. Being number 12 in game that only 50 poor souls take it seriously ain't cool. Sorry guys.

Honestly, when I first started this game I did the same mistake as you. I was already mainly interested in pvp and as I watched more YT videos and twitch pvpers, I just assumed they were right about pve being trash... until I tried it. I have had more fun on my most recent 2 months of maining pve than my 12Ish months of only pvp. The pve in this game is actually really fun, especially now that I'm really close with a small but fun and entertaining trials guild. They make me feel like I'm with a community rather than just playing with other people around me.

I would DEFINITELY recommend finding 2 or 3 good guilds that you can become close with if you don't play with a group of friends already.

Ironically I've been playing this game since launch and I've never set foot in BWB. Haha.

I learned a lot of hard lessons going into Vet PVP as a level 10 on day 1, but I'm way better now as a result. That said, to the OP, go ahead and explore both PVE and Vet PVP. While PVE has tons of engrossing content, after spending so much time in BWB I'd have to imagine that setting foot in Vet PVP would be like seeing Star Wars for the first time in the 70s.

I really should become a streamer.

I'll bring my wacky build to the masses and then hear them parrot how smart I am for "finding the new meta brah".

Then, like every other person who parrots a streamer build they will find out that it took a year of practice to play successfully how I play, and then they will run to this forum complaining about nerfs to other builds!

My plan for world domination begins!

@Enslaved I loved reading your post, was sad there wasn't an AD line too, care to write one?

    Ok.

About AD questline. You get to start at Khenarthi's Roost, an island mostly populated by Khajiit. You fight some storm generating Maomer, witness a murder of Silvenar, prevent utter destruction of entire island. If you ask me, this is pretty good plot for a starter island, lol. You pretty much fight Maomer for the rest of story, with few EP encounters and some DC, too.
After that, you move to Auridon, meet the queen, prevent plot from ESO "nazis" to kill her several times, maybe a soundtrack is way to peacefull for all the stuff happening around here. What I found super stupid is that at one point EP is helping "***" Altmer to dethrone queen. I mean, I understand that EP should be involved in conflict somehow, but why would on Nirn any Nord or Sahxleel have any contact with a group that sees them as animals?
Next in line is Grahtwood, where you finally meet bosmer culture on their own soil. You prevent more attempts on queen's life, she stubbornly continue to try to change will of their own ppl who mostly see others as lower species. She get crowned, some ancient elven device proclaim her the true leader or what. You settle few local disputes and move on.
Next zone is Greenshade, where you have few flashbacks to some altmer female history, then you get her to become new ruler of entire valenwood since she can manipulate earth or something. Of other local quests, honorable mention should be entire town going batsh*t crazy under influence of Sheogorath. Some more Maomer action..
Malabal Tor - more Maomer. You also have to calm down Greenlady and do stuff for new Silvenar. A bit more of Khajiit quests here, mostly involving making their enemies kill themselves.
Reaper's March - Just a few non Khajiit quests, one arena to be conquered, you help the Mane and learn about Khajiit spiritualism and stuff. Few clashes with imperials.

    About queen.
She is doing stuff that she believes will help. Pretty naive, surrounded by spies, her own ppl work a lot against her since she wants what many of them see as unnatural. If you like queens I guess you might like her. I guess if there were no Razum-dar around, she would be killed for sure. At least she don't whine and cry like Emeric, even when her own brother betrays her. Give her about 500 years to grow up, might end as decent leader.

    About zones.

Khenarthi's Roost. Pretty island, fertile and filled with colors. Out of all starter zones, this one is most eye pleasing.
Auridon - if you like cherry trees, you will love this island. Only thing I would change is music, since it kinda waters down the entire experience. Entire zone seems like it is under maintenance by an army of gardeners. A huge contrast to the wild beauty of Stonefalls, for example.
Grahtwood - You start in marshy area, then moving trough woodlands straight to the amazing Elden Root. You see how much work devs put into this zone, its very nice.
Greenshade - I guess this is part of Valenwood with much less trees you would expect. Since Bosmer tend to have flesh diet, you won't see any cultivated land here. Interesting zone.
Malabal Tor- Woods to eternity. Maybe it would be better to have at least some part of the zone as grim as Selene's Web. I think that would make entire Bosmer area richer in every way.
Reaper's March- I wanted to see Khajiit zone since I started to play TES games. Well, I was not let down. Reminds me of some parts of Africa where ppl would go to see animals, like a safari or something. Maybe it is a bit too much rocky area, but it is unique in every aspect. Only thing I was kinda disappointed with is the city of Dune. I guess I expected, well, a dune, lol. Some sand, at least.

Every zone in AD was done better than Glenumbra and Stormhaven. That is for sure. Starter island is better than both EP and DC starter zones. I still love Stonefalls the most in ESO, but there certainly are nice things to see in both AD and DC.

I think one of the issues with eso is that for long time players pve becomes stale and boring and sort of pointless which leads to pvp being the only actual challenging content. Most streamers tend to be seasoned players which is probably why alot of them prefer pvp over pve
