Im just wondering how its working out. Am I gunna be able to fill my house with furniture crafting it myself, without 5k crowns or 4 months doing writs? I have been seeing alot of stuff on twitch and the forums about how all the furniture is in the crown store and that the master writs are extremely rare. I havent been able to find a good overview though. So whats the deal?

I found no chairs at the home good vendors, just rocks, plants, fire wood fireplace, and a "rough table". I hope the crafting recipes drop some normal home furnishings but so far I Got:

Purple level some PIE recipe (yes PIE it was for furniture crafting) requires 60 Nickel, a Kuta, some other stuff I do not recall.

The other one was for a Green level wooden stand and need 3 regulas, 8 heartwood, a Kuta, 2 Starmetal, and something else I do not recall or know were to get.

So ill take that as a you will have to buy furniture with crowns if you dont want an empty warehouse. Thats really really disappointing.

I hope to god its not that bad on live or I wont be purchasing a house.

Anymore evidence or examples would be nice.

No, there are furniture vendors scattered around the cities. In Wayrest, there at the foot of the stairs to the castle ...

It's basic stuff until you craft your own.

There are specific furniture vendors that sell basic items, and ones that sell achievement related items. You can find them in the major cities usually.

I'm under the impression that there will be a way to get furniture recipe-thingies that is not the master crafting writ. The list of items that can be purchased with vouchers only includes gold quality furnishings, 2 per category.

I just haven't figured out how to get the recipes yet other than buying the items from the crown store on PTS. :S

You can loot recipes (containers mostly) that are called various things depending on the craft (ex. Woodworking has Blueprints). Use that Blueprint to learn it (just like Provisioning) and then you gather the ingredients and craft it. I only found 2 so far, but I only spent about an hour or so actually playing and that wasn't all farming dressers and desks etc.

That is food for display purpose. The crown store sells green food items like bananas, apples, etc., for 50 crowns each, and your purple food item is worth 400 crowns. But the sad thing is they are just the same stupid bananas, bread, apples, pies, dishes, etc. that you see everywhere. We could've just picked up some of these foods from anywhere and put them in our homes for little effort and cost. But, no. We have to have roundabout, cumbersome, nonsensical, not to mention expensive and time-consuming ways to get these most ordinary items.

Is there a list of where these furniture vendors are? I know it's pretty early, but anyone is on that, that info would be super helpful.

Or if anyone knows a vendor that sells indoor furnishing items?

Ok that makes me feel a little better. Ive looked through the patch notes once. I guess it would be good to give that section another run.

I'm on it, but it'll take a while! I've done the AD and Coldharbour ones so far; AD ones are in Skywatch, Elden Root, Redfur Trading Post, Marbruk, Vulkwasten, and Rawl'kha. I'm also recording everything that they sell. (Or rather, using the UESP database's master furnishings list, recording where each item can be found.) That's a lot of nickel for pies. I don't recommend eating them.

    @Enodoc - great work

just on question i want to ask

"TO CREATE Requires Enchanting 2 Requires Woodworking 4"

in this description are the 2 and 4 referring to skill level or crafting tier passive? Bigg difference between Woodworking level 4 and levels tocraft tier 4 staves.

    Thanks.

Refers to points invested in that crafting line. you have to lvl the line itself just like any skill line, and at certain levels you can invest another skill point to raise the proficiency lvl. just like when you do passives in other skill lines.

Pretty sure it's the primary passive (so Potency Improvement, Woodworking, Metalworking, Tailoring, Solvent Proficiency, and Recipe Improvement). I'll see if I can get @Reorx_Holybeard to update that.

The crafting materials needed to make these items are all over the place. This is a hoarder's dream (or nightmare). Many recipes require Nickel, and I mean a lot of it. Once purple food item, for example, can cost 30 Nickel. Fortunately, Nickel can be purchased from an NPC for 15 gold a piece. I can already see people trying to sell stacks for more than NPC price on traders for unknowing customers.

I also ran across recipes that used essence runes, the ones we never really used in enchantments, like dekeipa. Similarly, some recipes (probably the light source ones) require fire opal. All of them will generally need a variant of the green, blue, purple, or gold quality tempers, with green requiring more than purple.

For players thinking about crafting these items, you might want to stock up on the basic race style material, especially Nickel. Green tempers like Jejota, Honing Stones, etc. (If you don't already have like a 1000 of those in your crafting bag.)

Unfortunately, crafters will have to compete with these NPC merchants, so we'll have to do some planning about what can be bought and what can only be crafted.

@Enodoc I am super grateful for what you are doing. :)

*Why a hoarder's nightmare? You might actually be using those super pretty items in your crafting bag that serve no real purpose other than to look awesome in large 4 digit values.

Hope this missconception ends up soon.
Most of the furnishing recipes are found out in the world, not from the Master Writ vendor exclusively (which has a very small number of top tier recipes). The vast majority of furnishing recipes (well over a thousand) are found in all sorts of containers throughout the world, and also from things like pickpocketing and murder, certain vendors, humanoid enemies, and some other sources in the game. Also, recipe sourcing is influenced by region so if you are in Eastmarch for example, then you will see more Nord style furniture items recipes, and if you are in Alik'r, you should see more Redguard stuff. You will still find other recipes, but the local culture's recipes will be more common.

Sorry for the confusion, but these are the crafting tier passives. I still have to change the tooltips to match the in-game versions.
