Monthly Crown Crates for ESO Plus

Just an idea, why not give ESO Plus members one or two crown crates a month for free just 'cause?

Seriously, just an idea. Would be another cool perk, even if it's just one a month.

I think their stance is that they give you enough crowns to purchase one each Month if you'd like to.

A lot of subscribers would argue that the cost of items in the Store has been rising, while the monthly crown allowance hasn't. The Elk mount took price hiking to the extreme.

I think it'd be a good idea to re-introduce subscriber loyalty rewards through the Crate exclusive items: "Remain a subscriber for the full three month duration of a Crown Crate Season, and you'll unlock all Crown Crate exclusives from that season on your account once it ends."

So subscribers would have to wait 3 months minimum before getting the shiny new mounts if they don't buy Crates, but it would encourage a lot more people to not only start subscribing, but remain subscribing. Especially if those items are tied to an ongoing subscription in the same way DLC is for subscribers.

Oo! $41 bucks for the whole season unlock! Sign me up  After seeing Deltia's video where he dropped $100 bucks and got no mount I'm more than willing to fork up $41 ^_^.

Yeah, I get the feeling that might be a good middle ground for making people happy. Subscribers would have to wait 3 months, but they pay less. And anyone who buys Crates for exclusive items... well by the time subs finally get their Storm Mounts they'll be old news - a brand new Crate season will be on the market and a new mount series will be the rare bragging rights.

And financially, it's extra incentive to keep a sub running. I only sub for a month at a time here and there, but knowing I'll get rare items if I KEEP subbed in the months I'm playing something else or too busy working... Hmmm...

Personally I think its a good idea... also from an "evil capitalist" point of view. You know... "...the first taste is free, but any more will cost ya!" ;)

i think getting all exclusives is a bit much...how about you get one from each teir after paying for 3 months. one atro, one epic, one legendary, one rare. that way zos can still get ppl to pay for crates but those that pay for a sub wont feel ripped off. of course it should be player choice...just in case you already bought crates and got all but one of the mounts :).

Items in the crown store are priced according to the biggest discount (see 4500 crown elk mount), which is 5500 crowns for $24.

This effectively devalues the monthly 1500 crowns to something in the region of 650 crowns.

    True.

It could also be a good idea from the "good capitalist" point of view. If taken just a little bit further.

Several other MMOs have incremental daily login rewards and a big reward at the end of 30 days. ESO could hand out a small number of crown crates on the 30th day. ESO plus members could get double that number of crates.

I wouldn't mind that; I don't think it needs to be everything from the season or anything, but maybe one from each tier or crown gems or something. Loyalty rewards are always a good way to keep people subbed for long periods of time, and makes them feel more valued and therefore more willing to spend money on crowns.

That please. Actually, enough gems for ONE of those legendary mounts would be ok for me already. You then could choose what you buy with them.

Not a chance; if they cut back on the gamble, they won't make any money.

I think they should get rid of crown crates completely.

But... I wouldn't complain if they started giving say, 2 free crates per month to subs.

Or just a quantity of gems.

(I am a sub - although considering cancelling it due to the aggressive crowns store strategies - this could help persuade me not to)

An increase to the monthly Crowns (say, 2k rather than 1.5k) to help combat inflation would be great.

Or some of the gems, to pick out things from the Crate store, would be fun too.

As is, the monthly Crowns feel like they are not enough to really get anything, due to the inflation.

1 free crate per 30 days of subscription actually sounds very reasonable. I hope they consider doing this.

I agree with the general sentiment of many of the folks on this thread.

For me, the bottom line is this:

As a subscriber, if I have agreed to sustain financial support for your enterprise with a subscription, than your compensation to me, needs to continue to be relevant and competitive with your marketing practices. If you change your price point in your bussiness model, than you need to increase my compensation. If you don't want to give me more, than dont keep raising prices, just to see how far you can go. As a consumer, if you loose my trust, you loose my subscription.

I don't think it's a lot to ask for, and it would fit the ESO+ theme of "getting more bang for your buck."
