I'd love to see how ZOS playtests their own game. Do they understand PvE/PvP the way we do? Have their playtesters beaten maelstrom? Have their playtesters gotten grand overload in PvP. Do they even have playtesters?

Nope, their playtesters got nerfed in one of the last patches.

I guess the guys n gals that code the combat understand it pretty well because they set the variables. What baffles me is that I think wrobel has always been the lead combat designer. So your fave skills from your fave class are all thanks to him. Unless I'm mistaken of course. Is he really responsible for the sorc class? Did he really come up with velocious curse, defensive rune, streak and frags? And if so what happened to suddenly make his decisions bad? Or was the lead combat designer during development someone completely different with a completely different vision? Pretty sure it's always been wrobel.

Check out the Zenimax Online section on glassdoor.com. You'll find employee reviews, salaries, and job openings.
You can see how the employee reviews really explain some of the in-game changes (or lack thereof) that we have seen so far.

Nope, their playtesters got nerfed in one of the last patches.
Ask yourself this question:
Have you EVER seen a person ingame with the zenimax logo next to their name, I havent and have played this game since beta.. so question answered..
You could try applying as a Quality Assurance tester, but I read some bad testimonies from people who used to do that.

Most QA for games is outsourced anyways, so you wouldn't be working for or with ZOS, but on behalf of them. I used to work as a game QA during my degree's summer break ages ago and I game tested Fallout New Vegas.
You are not playing the game at any time. You've only got a very limited time to "run" through the game and it's not fun at all. The worst part, however, is that most testers are not even gamers at all. I was one together with 3 others who played regularly out of a group of 27 employees.
If you want to make an impact on the game, I'd suggest to get that degree and experience in game development and send in your application.
