    ~eso in a nutshell

By 'niche' you mean a build that shouldn't be possible in the first place?

    Why shouldn't it be possible?

God forbid there is a build people can play that doesn't get instant killed.

A lot of builds won't get instant killed.

None of them require 80k hp.

On the battlefield with multiple people targeting the same person at once? I'm not so sure about that.

This is one of the few builds I have seen that is capable of surviving on the battlefield against multiple attackers. I'm not saying there aren't others. There might be.

My point was I don't see the harm of this build or why it should not be possible. If people want to pursue a defensive build capable of withstanding multiple attackers I believe that option should exist for them.

The worst part apart PVP is the performance and they obviously can't fix that even with the dwindling population so the only real thing they could do is add battlegrounds and arenas. I feel without them being added soon eso's PVP looks pretty bleak.

I don't know for sure but I think the battlegrounds and arenas are rumored for Q4 of this year which is just way to far away. By that time adding in battlegrounds and arenas might be irrelevant. I could see them scraping the idea when the time comes honestly.

PVP really needs a breath of fresh air. Something should be done after housing. (Housing Guys?? Wtf seriously?? Pointless.) IC and the sewers are a ghost town and Cyrodiil is predominantly a lagged out zerg fest.

All I've gleaned from posts in this thread, is that people can't handle being outplayed. Fact of life: You will lose sometimes.

People need to take into account more than just what their character is wearing and using, and start looking at the big picture. Where's your support vs theirs? Can you use the terrain to your advantage?

Competitive games aren't meant to be a slugfest, where each side stands toe to toe without moving an inch, fighting to see who has the best stats. There's a lot more to it than that, and that's where your opportunity to counter players like this lies.

The blaze tank is leveraging his particular skill set to his advantage, and to great effect.

Try buffing your playstyle, instead of nerfing theirs.

One of my toons is actually an 80,000 health Blazing Shield tank. In all honesty, it's sort of boring to play in PVP. It's cool when a NB ganker gets a surprise and can't burst me down, but in 1v1 fights, the other player usually gets tired of me spamming blazing shield and leaves. *shrug* Might change things up and make him into a stamplar for more variety.

What kind of noobie ganker tries to gank a guy with 80k health??

This is crazy talk! Don't you know that if you don't follow the meta you will be doomed ... DOOMED ... in Cyrodiil! Of course if you do follow the meta you will be shunned as a copycatnewbzergingproctatobrah and you will be ... DOOMED ... in Cyrodiil!

That aside ... I loved your post but bringing logic to this place instead of zombie group think is hard. Good luck!

Obviously, the solution is to ignore blazing shield templars. Just like we ignore aoe spamming ball zergs, 1 shotting snipers or proc builds. You know what just ignore the whole pvp for now until it gets rebuild from ashes.

With all respect for the OP distress... that is exactly what the main focus of the game should be:
Build Diversity! Some creative ways of using different builds...

Of course that some builds will be OP for some time but that is what makes us evolve, make us become better... finding ways to counter them!

Before One Tamriel, almost everybody used the exactly same builds, and even the skill rotations were extremly equal.
That is why i am happy (we yet have to see the full patch notes) with the probably proc set changes... because it will reduce damage, which is apparentely not so good for vet trials, but it will make the diversity arise again, in PVE and PVP.

I like diversity and i didnt heard nothing about this blazing build until now ... but i must say it was a good "surprise"...

Dealing with that problem on the bridge should not be 2 difficult, ever heard of the knocking them into the river below method and letting the slaughterfish have them? and no amount of health will resist Slaughterfish as they deal percentage damage and while they are in the water hit them with something like frost reach which will stunt hem preventing them from being able to go escape the slaughterfish.

it's not right, you should not be allowed to do what people are doing.
    the fact is:
the more you heal the less damage you should be able to do.
the more you tank the less damage you should be able to do.
that's the way it's suppose to be.
    plain and simple!
I agree with this in principle, the more damage you can take, the less you should be able to deal, the more damage you deal, the less damage you should be able to survive.

This works (or worked) with base builds in PVE - a tank with 50k health, using crafted armour/weapons, usually hits like a wet paper towel. A DPS built for extreme damage usually gets one shot killed by boss attack every time because they have little to no resistance and a healer might get clobbered by a mob due to wearing only light armour.

The use of CP along with the influx of dropped sets and proc sets has changed this around, often out of all proportion. We'll see what changes with the 'balancing' coming out in the foreseeable future.

They've been around for quite a while now; 1T just added some sets that made them a little more ridiculous and a whole lot easier to build. Meanwhile the proc sets, destro ult and damage creep made tanking a lot more attractive as a play option for both templars and stam DKs. Until 1T they were niche builds that were difficult to pull off. I tried a BS build for a while; it was pretty boring IMO.

Unfortunately, ignoring the BS builds isn't always an answer since they can operate siege and kill NPCs perfectly fine. When you put 5 or 6 of them balling together in each others' heals, you can't isolate them and take them down one at a time. Magicka poisons, lightning ballistas, major/minor defiles and Fasallas, meatbags, ranged damage -- pretty much all of them are needed to take out a group of BS's; meanwhile they are killing the players who don't know not to get in melee range. It takes far greater numbers and coordination to take them out than it takes to play them.

Doesn't mean they should be nerfed. Bring down passive damage from proc sets and you'll probably see a lot of players move on to something shiny and new.

You do know you can do this for gold, right?

Because I don't have the gold to throw away on skills and attributes, I'm not a trader and I'm trying to save up what gold I come by, not spend it all and go back down to zero.

    Ignore it or go playplanetside

    This is ESO #Workingasintended

I will note that after a long time away from it playing ESO mostly, I updated Planetside 2 and spent ten or so minutes for a quick jaunt. And contrary to what usually happens when I go into Cyrodiil, in Planetside I went 8 to 1 before logging out. As opposed to ESO's PvP, Planetside's player stats are all capped, everyone has the same health, everyone has the same armor, and everyone's weapons deal the same damage. So in all honesty, if you're actually successful in Planetside, it really is because of your skill, yet in ESO, skill can be thrown out the window if you have the right Gear doing the work for you.

You know guys I WANT PvP to be fun, it's why I keep going back into a Campaign every now and then. I'm not against it. I'd just like things to be more on equal ground. I'd wouldn't be nearly as butt hurt if the reason the person ganked me into the dirt was due to their ability, and not due to their High Penetration Attack/Viper's Sting/Velidreth power combo that somehow hits all at once cause of lag.

I've lived my life with the term "Deal with it" instilled into my brain whenever something negative happens, but that still won't stop me from believing things could use a major overhaul. Come up with possible ideas to counteract what I experience whenever I go against my better judgement and enter a Campaign. Like perhaps capping everyone's Health bar at a max of say 50k in PvP areas, or...RNGesus I don't know. This makes me want to just go back to Planetside, at least everything's on equal footing over there.

Just wait for Camelot Unchained like the rest of us. it is being made by the guy who created 3way seige warfare with Darkage of Camelot. Since you play Planet Side think of Camelot Unchained as a new mid evil version of Planet Side that will have 30 classes and a Crafter class that will create all gear in the game and build all structures.

Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

Have we not learned yet that almost every large game is a hiccup filled mess at launch? People complain, rightfully, about PVP lag outs in ESO, but the difference between today and launch is MASSIVE. People were falling through the map regularly.

Fair enough, but ESO and GW2 have always had the main problem that their engine was not designed for massive battles with 50+ players on the screen casting abilities. The engines have just been psuhed and optimized as much as possible but the core problem will always be there. The Main reason alot of us have faith in Camelot Unchained is because they made their own engine designed just for massive siege warfare battles. The engine runs 500 person battles smoothly. Ofcoarse the big lists of classes and an actually crafter class is cool along with the Viking vs King Aurther vs Irish/ celtic lore alliances are cool. Buts its actually the technical part that has alot of us excited.
