Spent some time to get a decent tank, want some thoughts

Imperial, DK

Health 40k
Stamina 26k

Plague doctor set, Ogrum Scale, Tremor Scale

Moves (sorry for wrong names)

-Puncture morph (one that debuffs enemys spell resisitance

-Dragon blood (morph that increases stam regen)

- chains

-resolving Vigor

- poison slash

Generally my goal is just tank, slow and agro mobs with tremorscale, pop Vigor if we really need it, I keep dragon blood active for stam regen
Oh and a Litle DPS with the over time poison dmg

I Tank with a NightBlade so it's a bit different. There was a vampire tank build with plague doctor, green pact. It has massive health and bone shield is monster here. The vampire drain heal thing is incredible also.

Mostly, you need to get Ebon. Hands down, most serious tanks would agree. Lord Warden is also beast and every tank should have it also. Whatever other set you want to throw in there is up to you. In higher end content, orgnums is somewhat lackluster. Maybe good if you have crappy healer.

This build is more aggressive and can self substain better than orgnium scales but if a healer is running the set then orgnium will be fine. This build is about keeping up DoTs and then spam ur DPS ability on the mob. https://youtu.be/vemr8LNY2y8

Generally speaking, your health is a lot higher than it needs to be. Of course if you like having 40k and are still doing a good job in the content you want to complete then that is no problem. But it might be worth investing more points into either magicka or stam for higher dps or greater utility ability (using more magicka skills).

For health, you generally dont need more than 30k, and Ive been tanking a bunch of vet dungeon with a little bit over 20k with no problem.
May the moons watch over you all.

    Hey, about your tank.

If your goal is just tank and make a little of dps, you are focusing to much on health, you dont actually need more than 30K. From that point i would go full stamina to get more block and cast more skills.

I would drop Ogrum Scales, health recovery sucks right now, and i dont recomend a set bonus that depends on you having low hp, the point of your build should be avoid getting to that point.
I recomend you to put a crafted set instead, Armor Master or Tavas Favor are awesomes options.

With that idea i would drop Tremorscale, you can CC the mobs with a skill like eruption, and put maybe Skoria o Bloodspawn in that place, Engine Guardian its cool too. I feel that Tremorscale its more a PVP set.

Why are you only using 1 bar? are you low lvl or do you use the second bar for dps?

Anyway, an idea of skills in the main bar you should put:
    Taunt - Punture
Damage/Debuff - Heroic Slash or Poison Claw
    CC - Talons are awesome!
Shield - Igneous shield rocks, its give you stamina back, gives you major mending to get more heal and a shield.
Heal - Vigor or Dragon Blood whatever you like more.

    For second bar:
    Range Taunt - Inner fire
    CC - Chains
    AOE - Ash Cloud
    Buff - Shuffle (Evasion)
Buff - Defensive Posture (Block Reduction)

    hope its help you.

    Good luck

I would drop the monster set but that is just a personal preference.

    5 x Plague Doctor
    5 x Desert Rose
2 x Hist Bark or Song of Lamae

Desert rose will keep your magicka resource sustained quite well while tanking which in turn will let you use more ingenious shields, ingenious weapons and restore more stamina. Keeping the group buffed adds to the groups dps, you don't necessarily have to do the damage yourself.

Umm... health recovery is mostly good on health recovery races. But imperial is a decent option. This build can do damage and my werewolf form is my execution cause no one can't counter werewolf at all. When players use werewolf on me I just flap those wings time to time and burst and put dots on them and they die or they switch back heal stupid amount. My werewolf can just rip through that healing making it weak.https://youtu.be/vemr8LNY2y8

Is this for PvP or PvE? Cause for PvP then yea I can see it working but your sets are extremely selfish for a PvE Tank. As PvE Tank you are Support 100% And trying to do damage is something I would advice against. Dealing out Debuffs and Buffs and small heals or Damage shields is far more productive then the low 5-10k a tank could muster. Debuffing targets or buffing allies however can add significant dps to the damage dealers in your team.

Try, 5p Dragon, 5p Alkosh and what ever monster set you fancy.

What if I swap 1 ability for igneous weapons and the morph that also boost stam dmg,

That way other than my main, agro Ness, I will
    - slow 70% large enemy groups with tremor scale
    - heal with Vigor if needed (totolly needed when healer down, and trying to res)
    - keep Buff up, 20% more dmg for team
    - igneous shield, shield for team

For move sets, how would that be?

alkosh not akatosh. alkosh set comes from Maw of Lorkhaj trial, and does an AoE dot and defense debuff when you use activate a synergy.

dragonguard set comea from Eastmarch and reduce ultimate cost by 15%.

    Alkosh:
(2 Items) Adds 688 Weapon Critical

(3 Items) Gain Minor Slayer at all times, increasing your damage done to Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.

(4 Items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage

(5 Items) When you activate a synergy, you send a shockwave from your position that deals 1720 Physical Damage and an additional 12040 Physical Damage over 10 seconds. Reduces the Physical and Spell Resistance of any enemy hit by 3010 for 10 seconds.

    Dragon:
(2 items) Adds 129 Magicka Recovery

(3 items) Adds 4% Healing Taken.

(4 items) Adds 1064 Max Health

(5 items) Reduces the cost of Ultimate abilities by 15%.

You get Dragon in Eastmarch and you get Alkosh in the 12 man trial Maw of Lorkhaj, normal or veteran.

Now I just reread your post to try and give more info since it does seem like you want to go PvE. Green Dragon Blood is wasted on a tank. You don't have any stamina regen when you are blocking so its a useless stat for a tank to have, better way is to use magicka recovery to boost the amount of times you can use Earthen Heart abilities to proc the Helping Hand passive that gives back 5% stamina upon use of an Earthen Heart ability.

I would also highly recommend that you get Absorb Magic on both of your bars, the extra damage mitigation and block cost reduction from simply having it slotted is invaluable, as well its important to have if you ever want to try tanking Veteran Maw of Lorkhaj, also good for healing yourself against Magicka users.

Another really important skill that you haven't listed is Heroic Slash, the Minor Heroism you get from keeping it active will help significantly when it comes to getting Ultimate back quickly and as a tank you want to be doing Aggressive Warhorn when ever you can, or well in the proper rotation in a well created Raid but you get the drift, same reason why Dragon is such a great set to use.

Oh and you want to try and aim for a bit lower HP, A good Tank has a bit over 30k in most cases, I would say slightly more for Veteran Hel Ra Citadel Hardmode but that will come much later in your Tanking Career. A good way to go is to use 8 Tri Stat Glyphs on your armor pieces and shield as well as using the tri stat food. After all that you can then decide how many attributes you need into Health and you stop putting points when you reach your intended target, all other points should be used into Stamina to increase your Max stats so that your Stamina becomes easier to manage. You will get more at the start of a fight to use as well that Shards and Synergies and Earthen Heart abilities will give more Stamina back since they are based on your Max Stat. 25% for shards, 4% for Synergies and 5% for Earthen Heart.

Oh and don't worry about Igneous Weapons. Most DPS's worth their name is running those buffs one way or another anyway and if I remember right using it can sometimes bug it out causing them to lower their DPS instead.

In my experience there is a wide spectrum of options based on what content you're running.

For example, when you're a young tank just doing random dungeons with people you don't know, it's really helpful to be diverse and be able to do average damage as well as protect yourself with self heals. This is because you can get paired up with some pretty bad players and you may have to pickup their slack.

However, as you advance to run more difficult content like veteran dungeons and trials with more competent group members, it is best to become a more focused blocking machine that sustains your own resources for long periods of time and provides utility to the group to enhance group damage rather than doing damage yourself. It is in these situations that you are able to stop being concerned with doing damage and healing yourself because your group members are more advanced and can carry their own weight.

Most of the tank advice I see on the forums is geared towards the latter scenario and is what you'll eventually grow into if you keep playing a dragonknight tank.

With this in mind, I tank veteran dungeons but don't do many trials yet. I have 35k health and wear Tava's Favor and Bloodspawn armor sets. I use a one-handed weapon and shield on both action bars and use the following skills. Alternate skills I use in certain situations are listed below main ones. For example, I sometimes use obsidian shard or echoing vigor instead of green dragon blood.

I start combat on the secondary bar to buff up with evasion, hardened armor, and igneous weapons first. Then I pull using ash cloud and lock mobs in place with talons. Then I switch to the primary bar to taunt, shield the group, block, and generate ultimate. I hope this gives you a useful perspective into my tanking life.

    Primary
    1. Puncture → Pierce Armor (One-Hand & Shield)
    2. Low Slash → Heroic Slash (One-Hand & Shield)
    3. Dragon Blood → Green Dragon Blood (Draconic Power)
      • Stonefist → Obsidian Shard (Earthen Heart)
      • Vigor → Echoing Vigor (Alliance War Assault)
    4. Defensive Posture → Absorb Magic (One-Hand & Shield)
      • Shield Charge → Shielded Assault (One-Hand & Shield)
    5. Obsidian Shield → Igneous Shield (Earthen Heart)
    6. Magma Armor → Magma Shell (Earthen Heart Ultimate)
      • Barrier → Replenishing Barrier (Alliance War Support Ultimate)
    Secondary
    1. Dark Talons → Choking Talons (Draconic Power)
      • Inner Fire → Inner Beast (Undaunted)
      • Fiery Grip → Unrelenting Grip (Ardent Flame)
    2. Ash Cloud → Cinder Storm (Earthen Heart)
    3. Spiked Armor → Hardened Armor (Draconic Power)
    4. Molten Weapons → Igneous Weapons (Earthen Heart)
    5. Evasion → Shuffle (Medium Armor)
    6. Dragonknight Standard → Shifting Standard (Ardent Flame Ultimate)
      • War Horn → Aggressive War Horn (Alliance War Assault Ultimate)
    Veræn → XB1/NA
