So asking someone if they are willing to share, is now acting entitled? What a odd place I have arrived in.

The op really doesnt say anything about them begging. All they did was ask. Which isnt on the same level as begging. But I suppose we should put people in stocks for politely asking as well. That will teach them and their manners!

ZoS endorses this feature, shouldn't you take it up with them?

People aren't doing anything wrong, they're using the API available to addon writers. The only way you're not a hypocrite is if you've never run ANY add-on for ANY reason

I'm so old school (and old) that this actually applies to me. So, does this mean I'm entitled to complain about add ons...or beggars...or life in general?

why doesnt someone design an add-on that prevents the add-on that lets people see other peoples loot tables looking at their loot tables....

Never had an issue with people doing this. A lot of times they've asked me for something that I would have otherwise decon'd or vendor'd because I assumed it for junk. If they ask for something I need, simply telling them that I need it ends the conversation. Never had anyone "beg".

I don't get whats the problem. Just say that you need it. It's not like ppl are watching you in a bathroom or smthn. I really hate when ppl are spamming their worthless loot and clutter my chat window. If i need something i ask for it. Should i start a thread too?

I don't bother people about loot and you are right that most of the time people will offer for free . I guess just being reserved is a good way to make friends .

I like when people have this. I don't have to bother checking what I get until later. Also that way I don't have to link every darn set piece to see if anyone wants it.

Unless they are begging for your item, I see no harm in them asking for your loot.

If you want it, just say no? Otherwise, they get an item you otherwise would have not even bothered looking at or keeping.

People feel like if someone asks for something they are "demanding."

Why does everyone get so offended by this add-on? Lol it's a game and the loot isn't real man. Who cares if people know what you got.

Apparently some people care which is why we have this thread and others like it pop up. As has been stated making this add on only work with people who have it solves the problem.

In the sort of world I would like to live in, we should put people in stocks for everything. It would do them good and teach them a bit of backbone! All people except me, of course.

On the matter in hand, I also find loot snooping a bit surprising and distasteful when it happens, irrational as this may be. I always offer up items I do not want as freebies anyway, but there is something rather invasive about someone knowing what I looted before I even know. Like most people, I don't check what I looted until the end of the dungeon, so getting a very targetted request from left-field does surprise me. I've not yet denied anyone loot in this scenario, but it does make me grudge giving the item to them whereas I would happily hand it out to a polite non-snooper. Perhaps someone who politely made the team aware at the start, "I am looking for x, if you happen to get it and do not need it please could we trade at the end?", that's a far more collaborative approach.

But it's not really the end of the world either, after all we can simply choose to ignore snoopers and not co-operate with them, as we would shut them out in real life. I must admit the idea of telling them you're going to deconstruct it for mats is pretty amusing, they must turn apoplectic behind their screen. If it is jewellery, you might say that your character is very superstitious and is going to throw it into the sea and make a wish.

What problem? Lol All I hear is "waa waah wah I don't want people to know what loot I pick up"

Is this really the worst of everyone's worries in ESO right now? You can really tell 90% of the player base are first time MMOers. Get over yourselves you're not entitled to anything in this game lol

So I've somehow manage to get into your group from queuing a random vet/normal or doing a pledge. So you're here to farm for gear, right? Great! I'm happy for you and happily obliged in assisting you in your journey to become a better player. If I come across a certain loot that I get... I will share that loot in the chat for all to see... even go as far as asking the chat whoever desires the item that I received from a dead boss carcass.

Here is how you can *** off this once helpful player... by snooping around my personal private loot from installing an addon into your game that I prefer to stay private... perhaps I have needs for it, and I decided not to make it public? You want that Divine stash? Not so fast! At the end of the dungeon I generally ask people if they desire such item, and willing to give it away for free, but! You decided to ask me for an item in my inventory that I haven't yet made public.... you really want that Divine stash? Or divine whatever I got? NOT SO FAST! I was going to help you now I'm going to help my ESO plus crafting bag by deconing that divine stash, and getting materials off of it.

Next time respect peoples privacy and let them make the decision by offering such item in the chat.

ROFLLLLL!! I'm not sure why but the way you wrote this just... Made my day! haha <3

I should really learn modding just to make an add-on to block this add-on that lets people peek at your loot table.

Who cares if they can see, no one is entitled to your loot. You just have to be strong enough to say no to someone who points out they need something that you got. It dropped to your inventory. Or, after you loot final boss, drop group and port out. Don't deal with whiners, don't deal with beggars.

ZOS endorses some things that I do not agree with... this is one of them. Just because ZOS endorses it doesn't mean that it's right.

Oh and all of the addons that I have are not even intrusive to other players. ZOS should at least respect their players decision by allowing the player to disable this feature so it prohibits other players from looking at what they receive from drops. It would make these addons obsolete by the players choice.

I did not know such an addon existed. I will download that *** immediately.

If you can get all worked up, by someone asking you directly about your loot, you really should not be playing an MMO, or any online multiplayer game at all.

The magic word is "No, i need it myself". It is very easy.

I for one, am tired of asking in group over and over and over, just to receive no answer from anyone. Will make everyones experience much better, now that i can just whisper whoever gets a desired drop directly with a cash offer

I don't understand the need for this addon. What's so difficult with stating at the beginning of the dungeon "I'm looking for x" or at the end "did someone get y"? Afraid of actually communicating?
