Consumers defending bad business practices of companies to justify their own purchases are worse than the companies that made bad business descisions in the first place.

Stop defending ZOS over the Elk mount thing, they ****ed up, they are a big company they dont need your support or your petty downvoting of people that dont want to be screwed over.

This kind of thing pisses me off. You are the consumers, you are not the PR people of a company. Stop beeing unpaid shills and have some dignity.

They called me kid and *** for simply saying what I have in mind. This would not happen at the first place if you people just voted with your wallet with that Dromartha mount, that you are not okay with that pricepoint. If it didn't sell so well they wouldn't even dare pricing Elk this amount.

So yeah keep purchasing this mount, justify your purchase, and let ZoS know that you are okay with this price point so that they might rise it even higher next year.

I understand the Elk is the most expensive mount to date, but ZOS does have the right to charge whatever they want for their products, if people buy them or not is another matter -- this, you cannot deny.

Please don't go on a witch-hunt against those who purchase the Elk or those who agree/are indifferent to ZOS' marketing decisions. People have different opinions, and these must be valued to have a constructive debate amongst the community.

I like having one mount of each type just in case I decided it would be good for a specific character. The price does seem way too high. If I don't get it, will I later regret it? I would expect the only way to get this later will be in scam crates.

Because you say it's a a bad business practice does not make it so. I will never buy a a crown crate but don't care if ZOS wants to do it... I don't care. The day they came out all but two of us in my pvp guild had a silly lightning mount. If you don't want a elk mount don't buy it. I still have and use the white imperial mount I have been rocking since April 2014.

Unless it comes with the dlc I would never buy a mount with real money or crown money. If other people want to that is their business. When things are are too expensive I don't buy them but when I log on tonight after work I will see elk mounts a plenty. But guess what, if other people want to buy an elk mount that is soooo not my business and it isn't yours either.

ZOS has every right to charge what the market will bare aka what people will pay. If I see elk mounts pop up as I saw with all the crown crate crap running around then congrats to ZOS. Our game is their business.

So many tears over 1s and 0s! I am not a zos defender....why do you think I never spell it with a capital Z. But it's their business. Nothing in the crown store is worth more or less than you want to pay. If you think it costs too much, don't buy it. Will not having an elk mount affect whether you do well or get stomped in Cyrodiil or VMA or HRC? No. Will the elk get you anywhere faster? No. Will it make you look cooler? Only if you think so. It all comes down to stroking your ego at the expense of your wallet. It's up to individuals to give that control to zos. zos only exists to make money. Only you can control how much of yours they get.

You can't expect people to do what you want . I won't buy any mount that expensive but I don't think anyone else needs to follow my rules on purchasing either . Whales will always drive the market up in MMOs . Best to learn to live without then be bitter at people with different financial morals . I am happy it is at least not another crown crate item , I will say that .

I have 10,300 Crowns right now due to my sub. I could buy the mount and I probably would if I had a character that really, REALLY needed it.

However, I am able to identify that this mount is of a lower quality comparing to existing ones and have blatant problems, like the complete absence of visual upgrades and the fact that it is an Elk skin thrown on a Horse skeleton.

Maybe you were unable to identify the issues. Maybe you are trying to justify your purchase, which is super common when someone just can't admit that they jumped the gun. I don't know, but just like you, I can make assumptions.

To be honest, I would be more likely to buy something overpriced. I can decide what I'm going to be spending and if it's worth it.

I despise crates. That being said I did buy the largest bundle of crates because of all the opening people posted it seemed I would have enough gems for the items I wanted. I got lucky with duplicates and everything I wanted dropped in the cards, and got the red pit wolf. If I didn't get lucky with gems (got over 100) it would have been a massive rip off. The items I wanted were just a hairstyle and body markings.

Never going to buy them again, shouldn't have gotten excited over those items on pts as well. Only reason I bought those stupid crates.

Reddit is super cruel. I was looking over the thread of the speculative 4500 crown price of the elk. Despite the general consensus that the price was too high and it was a bad decision from ZOS, there were clearly vocal minorities (probably whales) that were mindfully going through every dissenting opinion and down voting them.

Idk how long you've been playing ESO but it used to be sub only. When it went F2P subscribers got FREE Crowns every time they renewed. I've never really spent them until recently when race change and appearance change became possible. And now we have this mount,something I thought would never happen either and I'm truly grateful. I'm genuinely over the moon with it and glad it cost a fair amount of Crowns as not everyone will own it.

To clarify, I only sub for the DLC'S, the craft bag (amazing) and to support the development of future content. Not for the Crowns.

That's only your experience. They might be "free" for you because you received them as a side bonus for another purchase (DLC and crafting bag rental), but many others see them as one of important reasons to sub. They are still something you paid for and wouldn't have received otherwise. If subscription crowns are actually free, I demand my share! ZOS owes me for all the months I didn't get any. Oh wait, but they aren't. They cost $15 a month.

Elk is looking good, from what I saw on youtube.
Idk how it sounds, since video I saw had music overlay.
I would bought it if it was 2500 crowns, for sure.
Actually, I would not mind that armor, stamina and carry capacity upgrades are not developed for it.
So, the only real problem I see with this one is unreasonable price.
I mean, you can buy a game for less. Or guilds and glory DLC bundle.
It is not normal that a single mount is more expensive than a game itself.

I have been playing since beta and subbed since launch. Those crowns are not free, as you still gave ZoS money. Anyway, I'm not trying to start any ranty nonsense. I'm psyched that you found something in the store that makes you excited to play the game. That's why it's there, optimistically.

My only concern is that ESO will go down the WoW mount route, in which people keep paying absurd prices for digital products and then the price just escalates because of all the shiny things FOMO. I want these items to have quality and I want the people making the pricing decisions to see that us players won't just buy whatever crap they throw in the crown store. IRL, I am employed in the art industry, so I want ZoS to value the work of the modellers and artists and encourage them to do their best, most creative work, because that's what the community expects for their money. If the folks in the finance department see that players will just buy anything at any price, just because it's 'exclusive', then they won't allocate the time and money to employ quality workers and give them adequate time to make good products.

Those are just my small concerns, but I really am glad you like the elk.

People keep saying the elk cost more than the game. Lets compare apples to apples shall we?

When the game launched, the box or download cost $60. Its been discounted because its been out for 2+ years. If you are in the U.S., I estimate this mount to cost $32 if you didnt buy the crowns on sale. Thats almost half what the game cost at launch, not more.

Expensive for a mount? Yes it is. The thing should have a gold plated saddle for that price.
Like many, I am not happy with the price of this mount, but at least its not in the gambling boxes, or rather at least we get a shot at it BEFORE it winds up in the gambling boxes.

People have different circumstances, budgets and incomes and you have no idea where along the spectrum anyone is. $32 for some with well paying jobs is an hour's pay, for others its 2-3 days of lunch at the deli, for others its 25%-50% of the grocery bill for the week. Some people have the crowns stacked up in their accounts from their ESO+. If $32 isnt going to break your weekly budget or you already have the crowns and you want the damn thing, go for it.

I havent bought it yet. Not sure if I will or not only because I have so many mounts now I dont have enough characters for them. I am also in the "if I dont buy it will I regret it?" camp. Its nice to have something different and I do have a character that it will fit nicely with. If I do make up my mind and get it before January 4th, it most likely will be the last mount I buy.
