No. I think that's taking it too far.

On my CP500+ stamsorc for example. I carry a full extra set of Heavy Armor/Monster set and matching set weapons and jewelry around with me. When I slot those, change my skill bar to 1HD+S / DW instead of my usual DW/Bow I go from my normal DPS 18K Health to 27K with Warhorn, 2 Taunts, Razor Caltrops for Crowd control, etc. I go from legitimate high DPS to legitimate high-mitigation tank and change my play style to taunting/blocking, add-gathering, etc.

I do a similar thing with my magicka Sorc, magicka DK and magicka NB and healing. I could also legitimately queue my magicka NB for all 3 roles although I typically don't bother.

This thread and my complaint has nothing to do with the ability of honest people to multi-role through creative use and training of skills and gear appropriate to each role. Nor does it have anything to do with the fact that my Stamsorc main can solo many dungeons just with his plain DPS gear and skills.

It's about honesty and gaming our LFG queues that are set-up using the honor system, and by so doing getting an advantage in wait times over honest DPSers who do have honor, and then trying to impose the messy group composition they created on competent long-time players and brand new learning players alike with lame excuses like "this is faceroll easy - we don't need a tank... or a healer."

It really should be against the TOS for people to waste everyone else's time this way. It should be a reportable offense. As a matter of fact I DO report those who do this although I know nothing will come of it. Who knows... maybe if they get enough reports about this they WILL do something about it.

That's been happening for months.
It's why ppl spring all these types of threads.

I made a suggestion at the end of last week on how to address it.
It didn't get much attn. prob too detailed.

But yeah....it's nothing new on all platforms ppl do this all the time.

I'm at the point now where I'm thinking....just adjust skills and do away with roles

*notice some of the comments....thus the larger problem is game design and not the allowances in the grouping activity finder.

The LFG is just rubbish compared to other MMO's (not taking the waiting-times in account here).

Lets look at WoW: in their newest expansion they fixed the spec thingy for the LFG. If I sign up as tank, the game forces me to actually play the tank-role in the dungeon. Why cant ESO just look at others and learn from them? Hell, there are a whole lot of things ESO could learn from other games (and most are copy-cats anyway).

People can be all three roles;

In other MMOs and this MMO it is possible to be a healing / dps NB, it is possible to be a healing / tank Templar;

ZOS haven't clearly defined roles;

Even in trials, in several boss fights, a META group should have healers and tanks that DPS, and utility DPS that drop things like negates, veils, horns or what have you.

Templar tank here with powerful heals but I do NOT queue as a healer too. It is possible, and I am certainly capable but, I am a tank and that is where my focus will be. If I am healing too then my resources will be drained and that can spell disaster for a tank. I will let other players die before spending magicka on healing them as the tank in tougher fights, because if I don't have magicka for self-sustain then I will die, lose aggro and the group will likely wipe.

Doesn't matter if it is possible or not to do multiple roles. Select one you intend to focus on and let other players know what to expect from you. My tank does decent damage, has decent healing and can survive any boss attack (except one shot mechanics obviously), but I will queue only as tank and let others do their queued job.
