Making dual wield worth it in 1v1

What change would get you to consider using (a) dual wield skill(s) as a main aspect of a 1v1 fight? Would you alter an existing ability or passive? Replace it? It looks so cool visually. What is it missing for such fights?

    Well, for melee PvP one typically wants a decent combination of either damage mitigation, CC, or burst damage. Do you not think this could work with dual wield or does the possibility not sound interesting?

    It has a dot with choice of incoming hot or snare and more damage, a ranged high dmg projectile with accompanied snare, a 15 second ability that reduces aoe dmg by 25%, which works for a vast majority of abilities, and it's main dps channel ability can deal more dmg on final hit or heal for % dmg done. All abilities scale up in dmg in execute range. Twin blade and blunt is an awesome passive and its ability costs are relatively low.

    It's good in 1v1 if you build for it properly.

    Works well on a dk or sorc.

    I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

    could work better for a nightblade, doesnt make sense why s&b or a 2h works better then dual wield on the "assassin" class

    Nightblades can use whatever "weapon damage stick" they want because all the key weapon abilities are covered in the class (gap closer, spammable, execute, CC)... DW provides the most possible weapon damage with 5/5/2 options. With DW vs 1h/shield you are talking nearly 270 unbuffed weapon damage (difference) on top of the twin blade & blunt passives. Then we can mention the extra penetration from a sharpened offhand and the unique attribute of DW heavy attacks counting as 2 hits giving things like Selene and Velidreth more chances to proc.

    My go-to 1v1/dueling setup on my NB is DW/2h. I do prefer 2h/bow for ganking in Cyrodiil, though.

    I would make flying dagger into a gap closer. That's it.
