Cant log back in after getting kicked from pc.

I guess as it kicked me in Eastmarch I'm not gonna get back on until the region clams back down. Well they tested this scenario well didn't they, like this wasn't obvious everyone being in the same place .. . .

really, a temp ban for that?

If they can be shown to be doing it intentionally and frequently, I, personally, would prefer a permanent "your account is destroyed and you are ip banned" instead of a temp ban.

Since they've shown they won't actually ban people who cheat and profit from the exploits like the "banker assistant/use survey more than once" there is no way they would do more for people who are trolling/griefing others.

Should they temp ban people who intentionally duel in the areas aswell?

Inside the banks? Especially when the rocket scientists actually use chat to get a group of people together to duel in the banks and grief people? Oh yes. Dueling is one thing, which, imo they should have set up dueling areas away from pve activity hubs like banks, wayshrines and crafting stations if they were going to break their word about "no pvp in pve areas", intentionally doing as much as possible to grief other players is another.

Did the quests late at night, when the zone was not congested anymore. Took me like 45 minutes/char to cycle trough them. On the first it took an hour or so because I actually listened to the dialogue. The drops were pretty good. From 3 characters I've gotten half the motifs with a lot of doubles, all but 2 recipes, and most achievements. The only one which I failed on the first cycle was the one on Bethnik, because I only got the recipe for the needed drink on the second to last quest on my 3rd characters. Most time consuming was the fishing in Shadowfen, because with so many people the fishing holes dried instantly and because I wanted to get the achievements for catching all fish. All in all not a bad event. But putting the hub in one are was not the best idea. I expect the crowding to lessen, as some people get their drops and stop doing the quests.

Y'know, a lot of people have days off within the week. I, for one, have my "weekend off" on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You'd see me goofing around Tamriel on those days, but according to my bank statement statement, I'm not unemployed.

They have actually stated when they released dueling that they have the ability to disable dueling in any individual zone at any time. This event would probably be the most ideal time and reason to disable dueling for a single zone, IF such implementation was actually put into place.

This would be the only time I would be okay with automatically accepted duels.

Except make it so you can duel everyone around you at the same time.

Then do a Magicka Detonation/Soul Shred combo and laugh upon the countless bodies beneath you.

Then go about doing the Festival. :p

How do you prove intent. Some people may just like to show off their skills.

Yesterday while at Bergama this guy was taking screenshot of people near quest giver and reporting them for just standing there. Start banning people for using skills, and there is no telling where it would end.

Luckily they seemed to of fixed the stuff on xbox as I have not disconnected once and am not lagging. The only problem I am experiencing is it takes a minute for quest givers to appear. And I must point out my connection is crap usually running at around 2-5 mbps.

People who want to show off their skills usually do so for people who want to see them. [Unless they are a 5 year old that needs to be the special snowflake center of attention.] Outside of Windhelm is leagues of open territory, fields at the Meadery or just up from Lower Yorgrim that have stone walls to define a "ring" for people to show off in, or duel in if they want to stay near the city and wayshrines. So of course firing off their aoes repeatedly in the large crowd at the festival tent, *only* at the festival tent and nowhere out in open areas, where the one npc and the exp boost is located could not *possibly* be intentional. Starting a duel where the flag drops in the middle of the crowd at the festival tent is just totally coincidental, I'm sure. Its not like they are trying to cause lag and disconnects and grief anyone, right?

People can stand near Breda all day; I'd never report them. People standing near or running through the tent using their aoe skills over and over and over? Yeah, I would be fine with risking a report on that. You know, since abusing the report function can get *me* in trouble and all. Come to think of it, I actually did include that in the crash reports I had to file yesterday. The block on the form that asks "What were you doing when the crash occurred? : I was attempting to get the next festival quest when two or more players started using aoes in the middle of the crowd. Then the game locked up and crashed."

On Xbox I crashed four times, and had two additional random load screens. Two crashes and both load screens were around the celebration tent as I was approaching or leaving, one in Craglorn, and one in some small uninvolved town where I had gone to park my character for the evening.

My husband had no trouble whatsoever and his loading screens were much faster than mine.

His Xbox is two years newer (I play on a Day One Edition). Both are wired rather than wireless.

I done new life last night for about an hour...
trying to get to breda to get a quest was extremely difficult as sooooo many people seemed quite happy to group around her/him and make it very difficult to pick her/him out.
why do people think it ok to stand there spamming mementos?
travelling back and forth after a pretty boring quest was getting tedious for me.
the lag around Breda due to the amount of ppl and spamming mementos was simply ridicu;lous.

when I use to play guild wars..xmas festivals was done by the creators with far more passion and effort...I'm sorry ZOS or whoever are responsible..from what I've seen so far....SHAME ON YOU.

I agree. For the first time since I got back into the game a few months ago, I simply logged into my characters to do the horse training. Moved on to another game now and will probably not be back doing much else until after the New Year. If I'm being honest, the lack of any new content, with no real prospect of any more any time soon (I mean proper story content, not just cosmetic and housing) has more bearing on me shelving it for the time being. The ridiculous nature of this festival just gave me the shove i needed.

IMHO, instead, they should have pro-actively barricaded the various activities areas from dueling, a bit like the way that cops put up barricades for parades.

Maybe some are kids at college between classes. When I was at school, one semester I scheduled it, so that my last class of the week was late Thursday, and that's when my weekend started. And then some are people with unusual work schedules, and that's my category. I work weekend overnights, so I can play all day and all of the night (sorry ray davies) during most of the week when I feel like it, sleep when I need.
