I seem to be allowed one more "hop" than @twev. Not having any server issues atm but so far I've just been logging into alts for hirelings.

From others who have posted on here that is the MEGASERVER IP address. Check to make sure you are not getting a bunch of timeouts after att.net

I would actually believe this if it was only a few players that had the issue. BUT, ALL 12 players were booted at the same time back to character select screen... not out of the game (timeout)... but back to character select screen.

In addition to this, Everyone is from all over the world. We had players from Canada, Eastern USA, The Mid-West, California, and Australia playing with us all at the same time, and so I doubt that every one is routed through the same networks.

There is something seriously horrid going on with these servers, and yes, I do feel ZOS is to blame due to not keeping up with regular weekly maintenance. Everyone is complaining about the lag spikes, and the rubberbanding, rollbacks, and not being able to sign into certain character, etc, etc.

Just because you're from all over the world doesn't mean your connection doesn't funnel through a specific host connection, in this case ATT. I'm timing out before even reaching the ZOS IP.

It looks to me like that last working hop is in Dallas Texas, so the world connections are probably all funneled to that one router in the stream.

I've never seen rubberbanding in ESO, but I am always surprised when I see another rollback.

Dallas is the last one for me too.

The game is unplayable now for me where it was most playable for me prior to the patch.

As others have said, it was bad last night. Folks in my dungeon group figured the servers would be coming down any minute. They didn't. Tonight I can't even login to my characters.

Why are the servers still up in this condition?

The weirdest thing is my Keybinds keep getting wiped.

My keybinds keep having XboX binds added into them (I'm exclusively PC based).
I assume it's from some micropatch they stealth in somewhere since the last time I loaded the client.
It's distracting as snot on a doorknob to suddenly see XboX prompts pop up on screen.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

exactly what mine says, everyone might be blaming ZOS when in reality its AT&T fault

I'm on the PC NA Server and ran the trace as well after getting performance issues. Same thing after crl.dlstx.ip.att.net is all time outs.
Well, I take a break and come back to take a break again it seems. Go figure.

As. Stated this drop hits after AT&T on the trace so seems AT&T may be an issue not ZOS. My area of expertise is appdev programming more than networking so I'm not 100% sure.

Oh, well. hope this gets cleared up soon. Missing out on my assassination quota :)

Yeah as much as I hate to see the servers go down for maintenance again, it seems the last two maintenances weren't too effective. I experienced 10k latency tonight. Can't use skills, though the monsters beating on me were still able to kill me.
    Couldn't hit 'r' to wayshrine.

Come on ZOS. Fix this. Whatever you did during Monday's maintenance really screwed the pooch.

My wife complains that I never listen to her. (Or something like that.)

Same here. Both me and my friend did tracert and died at the same place as shown above. I was not getting the DC's yesterday but today I am.

Edit: All my Craglorn chars DC either before actually getting into Craglorn or soon after getting in. All chars not in Craglorn login and play like normal. Since most my chars are in Craglorn I can't play ATM. Issue started today, I had no issues yesterday.

Just logged in to my main to 1817 ping. I hope the tracert information in this thread helps ZOS figure out what's going on. Wouldn't surprise me if AT&T were to blame.

    Edit: Over 8k now.

Edit 2: Hit 14.7k and got kicked to login screen. FFS.

Its not actually your router if you are getting that tracert time out. Its the router in the chain that you are connecting to, like mine is stopping at the AT&T router it looks like. Might be worth talking to your ISP about see if they can push the information along. I dunno if ZOS can do anything about it.

If you don't know what you're talking about, you shouldn't be telling what to do or what their supposed problem is. There is nothing timing out there, that's merely the last router that responds to pings. This is to keep the router from being overwhelmed by unnecessary traffic. Thus you will never able to successfully ping any of the game's servers because it will be blocked before it even gets there.

Furthermore, this post is about people having trouble logging onto their chars. If they can log into the character select screen, there's nothing wrong with the connection to the server.

As it stands, there's definitely server issues going on with the NA PC megaserver. It took me 30 minutes to log onto any of my characters are sitting in Craglorn and get out without lagging out. Other people are having the same problem with that zone, along with other random zones.

I am not that tech suave with networking, and I am not saying that this is the exact problem or that the IP is actually correct. I just did some research to find out. However, I do have a problem with the routing, which makes me believe it isn't all ZOS fault. If I run a speedtest anywhere in the mid to mid-west US, I receive a flickering animation until the test times out, or it will actually complete but with be less than 1mb DL. I have a 100mb connection.

Yeah, I hit E to loot a corpse last night and my ultimate dropped. :s

And, yes, all my characters are parked in Belkarth for writs.

While I understood why online gaming 30 years ago required some technical knowledge from customers in order to play, this whole business of troubleshooting our routes to the servers from our end today is nonsense in my view.

Next we'll be searching for sun spots.

I just want out of this silly nightmare. My Plus subscription renewed on the first of this month for 3 months. All I want at this stage is a refund and I'll happily be on my way. Well...not happily...but with enormous relief that it's finally over :p

I didn't even bother trying to play tonight. But from what I heard on Teamspeak, most of my guildees were having troubles. Whatever maintenance they did today didn't seem to help. Wish they would just rollback the last patch. Whatever it did obviously messed everything up.

Okay, just for the heck of it I ran a speed test just to make sure this wasn't some part due to my area. We got major flooding here a few months back and services are still shotty sometimes. I am running a constant 60Mbps Download and 11 Upload.

I tried and was able to login on my main, but 5 seconds later was awesomely teleported through a door and disconnected.

ZOS's date center would be hooking up to a backbone network at the same point. If that one point fails, usually they'll redirect to another that's still going. Pretty much anything hooked up to the internet will be set up that way.

No... this post is about people being kicked from the servers in the middle of a trial, but NOT kicked (or logged out) of the game, ONLY their characters.

Other players are reporting issues logging into their characters as well as other issues related to the servers, in addition to bad pathing though ATT's networks.

Yeah A lot of players in the guilds I am in are experiencing the lag really bad, and the ... I call them fps skips, where everything goes still for a 5 seconds and then it all catches up, but you don't get booted off, is happening much more now, though it has been rather frequent any ways for the last week.

Maybe with that influx of money a lot of players just gave them with the Crown Crates they can go out and buy a real server.. you know... a brand new one.. that works... you know.. maybe..

This is so not the time of year you want this sort of thing happening.
Far too many characters to list any more.

Game performance is horrible. Crashed twice in Cyrodiil during fights at the outposts. Then could not get back into the game for about 5 minutes. Then in PvE trying to switch characters and constant load screens over and over again until I finally just said heck with it. This is totally pathetic and ZOS there are no excuses. It boils down to complete incompetence and lack of giving a hoot on your part to fix your servers.

Yes, the servers are spazzing out and its giving people problems with staying logged into certain characters or being able to log into them again.

Again, there's nothing wrong with AT&T's routers. You will stop getting reponses to ping commands after a certain router as means of protection and to not stress out the infrastructure.

    tracert.jpg

Notice how my tracert stops at the same point, yet after manging to get back onto my right character again, I had no problems staying on. If there was an issue with that last hop, I wouldn't even be able to connect, especially since the address I used is seemingly the one for the login server. I actually had problems last week with connectivity to the game because Cogent was having network issues, so I definitely know what its like when there's a network issue going on outside of ZOS's realm.

Obviously, the maint they had to fix the server problems only made things worse and ZOS really needs to step in here and say something.
